PhaedraMcSpiffy O_O Friends don't let friends post ignorant untrue bullshit on Myspace. Anybody stupid enough to believe things like that is off my friends list and out of my life. That's true...but I corrected him on a few things this morning and I'm just waiting for him to respond. That and I'm debating on writing a blog on the George Tiller matter and might use his bulletin as fuel to the proverbial fire...>.> He replied. I wanted to smack him. I mean seriously.. Quote: Well, Im glad you read my bulletin. First of all, no, it doesn't make George Tiller's death justifiable. But to say he was just doing is job? No, his job was certainly unjustifiable. Most of his little victims were perfectly healthy babies whose mothers didn't want. He was more than glad to accomodate them. Tiller bragged that he had killed some 60,000 babies. He used the money from his baby death camp to bribe officials that they would turn a blind eye, another fact that he bragged about. There was at least one incident where the baby he tried to abort survived the birth, so he butchered it outside the womb. He was a serial killer, cold, calculated, and arrogant. He had no visible remorse for anything he did. At least Jeffrey Dahmer was regretful for what he did. Jeffrey Dahmer, by the way, would pick up young gay men at bars and lure them to his appartment for sex. When he got them there, he would overpower them, murder them, and then eat them. John Wayne Gacy was a party clown, entertaining children. And it was boys and young men that he would molest and murder, burying them in his basement. I think the body count for Gacy was about 35. I don't think Dahmer's was quite that high. Tiller's was at least 60,000 by his own account. Tiller's method of execution was to stab the babies in the neck at the base of the skull, and suck their little brains out with a suction device. These were babies, who, for the most part, would have been born perfectly healthy. It really doesn't matter if Tiller raped the little babies, or did things to their bodies like other serial killers. The fact is that he murdered thousands of innocent babies, and the enormous body count makes him a mass murderer. And now he faces his Maker for the attrocities he committed. For ******** sake, Gacy and Dahmer both killed boys/men. They didn't do anything to little fetuses. Also, rape is when you force someone to have sex....-.- I didn't tell him that because I was half-asleep. -.-

I'm all for giving second chances, but if somebody repeatedly said things like that despite all the evidence, I'd stop speaking to them. Somebody on Pandagon was debating the "60,000" statistic and said it was impossible. I'll link if I find it again. Until then, via Pharyngula (because I dunno how to find the video by itself and I'm busy): Rachel Maddow on Scott Roeder's previous vandalism of clinics. PZ Myers asks why the FBI isn't enforcing the FACE act: Pharyngula | Dereliction of dutyMaddow is fast becoming my hero. heart Also: The lady from Operation Rescue who gave away Dr. Tiller's information online and to Scott Roeder himself over the phone was jailed herself for attempting to bomb an abortion clinic. gonk Why the hell doesn't anyone do anything?! .... And here's the thread: Pandagon | How mainstream are “pro-life” extremists?Pandagon user Llelldorin For crying out loud, Jim, do you think about numbers at all before you excitedly post them? He’s charging $5,000 per abortion, and makes $1,000,000 per year. OK, so he’s performing 200 abortions per year. That sounds pretty plausible--it’s about what I’d expect. He’s done 60,000 in his lifetime, so apparently he’s been in practice for 300 years. Now I’m starting to get suspicious. Let’s think about how many 60,000 is another way. Dr. Tiller took over his father’s practice in 1970. 39 years, 365.25 days per year--he’s been in practice for something like 14,000 days. Are you starting to realize that Bill O’Reilly is simply full of s**t? In a way you’d have noticed if you’d spent six seconds thinking about it? Pandagon user Molly Quote: 60,000 abortions over 40 years comes out to 1,500 abortions per year. If he works 250 days per year you get 7.5 abortions per day. Let’s see, Dr. Tiller was 67 when your hero murdered him, so he would have been 27 forty years ago. Still in the Navy, according to Wikipedia. Spent his hitch doing 7.5 abortions a day, according to you. Took over his late father’s family practice, spent a few time in a PCP practice that didn’t initially involve abortions--but according to you, did 7.5 abortions a day, and that was before Roe. And according to you, he made a mill a year (shocking!--everyone knows that ‘wingers are the only ones supposed to make more than six figures p.a.), but still never took more than a 2-week vacation for 40 years, while knocking out 7.5 abortions a day, day in, day out. Oh yeah, makes perfect sense. Once again Jim, go ******** yourself. Pandagon user Liz212 According to the state of Kansas, there were 228 late term abortions performed in the state in 2008. If we assume that the number of late term abortions is approximately the same every year because the number of abortions generally is about the same every year, Dr Tiller would be far short of 60,000. I suck at math. >_< Does this make sense? Unrelated Note: This thread has some great comments in general: Pandagon user INTPagan That page is seriously just where it kills me; it pretty much entirely disproves their whole idea of Tiller hacking apart healthy full-term babies to the delighted cackles of the evil mothers. I can’t imagine what it would feel like to be one of those mothers and be faced with that. People should be allowed to ******** grieve in dignity and without anti-choice assholes essentially mocking their grief since they weren’t noble enough to force their child to suffer. I don’t look down on women who carry babies to full term like that, because it’s their child, their body, and their choice about it, but I admire the courage it would take to release your child from suffering without even getting to see them alive. That’s ******** courage, and mocking their grief is inhuman.

WHy do people not understand that third trimester abortions are only done for women in the face of death, and if they induce labor, she'd probably die like if she actually when through with it? confused

Sadly, Tiller's clinic will stay closed forever... It just makes me so sad that a lot of women will either die from pregnancy complications, or spend lots of money to travel out of state to get it done...

Edit: Has anyone seen this video? I doubt these people interviewed/discussed would consider themselves extremists, but...
