"You really think so?" Ade asked in delight, his tail giving an extra quick wag as he pawed back at her, laughing. "Thanks. I really like my nose. It can be pretty helpful, especially when I get lost and am trying to get unlost. You know? Do you ever get lost?"

Pilate nodded, "Yes of course I think so silly." She giggled at the wild dog. For the first wild dog she had met in her life, he was making a good impression on her.
"You want to .. play a game or something?" Pilates pink eyes smiled at the other.

"Yeah! A game would be lots of fun! How about we have a race? I can run pretty fast! I bet I could beat you!" He challanged playfully as he leapt to his feet, his tail a blur. Of course, Ade had never met a cheetah, so he didn't know about their speed. Oh well, he'd just have to learn the hard way.

Pilate opened her maw about to say something but instead shook her head. She had no clue about wild dogs, it was possible this boy was faster. At least in her mind.
"Alright, " Pilate gave the other a coy smile, "How about we race to that dead tree over there and see who the fastest is?" The boys excitement was enough to make Pilate all that more excited too. She had always wanted to race some one who could keep up. Maybe this boy was that some one.

"You're on!" Adejola yipped as he crouched in the ready to run position. He was pretty fast among his many siblings so he figured he'd have this in the bag. After all, she didn't have longer legs or anything. Surely this would be super easy. "Alright....Ready....Set....GO!" He cried as he leapt forward in a mad dash toward the dead tree.

The cheetah followed suit, training her vision on the tree. She was fast and skillful in her paw work as she made her way towards that dead tree. Her speed was nothing close to that of an adult, but it was still pretty impressive.
She looked like a radioactive streak of green as she moved through the plains. Only, a rock tripped her up causing her fall flat on her face giving the Adejola a big advantage.

Well, it would have been a big advantage if Ade hadn't stopped at her side. "Hey! Are you alright, Pilate?" He asked in a worried stream of words. "You're not hurt are you? Hey, hey, you okay?" The canine poked gently at her as he lowered his head to watch her. He wasn't the sort to take advantage of a mistep or an injury. No, at this point, he was so concerned about his new friend's wellfare that he'd all but forgotten they'd ever been racing.

Pilate rolled on her back and forced a smile. Truthfully the fall had hurt her a little, but not enough to force tears. The cheetah was not one to want to have others worry.
"Yeah," She assured the other with a bright smile on fresh on her maw. "No need to worry Ade." She pawed playfully at the cub to reassure him that she was really fine.

The canine gave out a relieved sigh before he laughed and prodded back at her with his own paw. "Good! I would hate it if you got hurt!Come on, let's fini-" He cut off at a howl that carried across the land. "Oh... That's my mom. I think she wants me to come home now." Adejola said with a pout as he squinted up at the lowering sun. "I'm sorry I couldn't play longer, but if I don't go home now, then I'll get in trouble. Maybe we can play again later?"
