I've been using Vista since the day it was released. I've never had a problem with it.
I don't understand why so many people have problems with it. Both mine, my moms, and my husband's computers have Vista and we've never encountered any of the problems other people claim to have.

Maybe you got lucky. Or maybe all the people with problems are very unlucky. I like XP just cuz I'm most familiar with it.

I wonder if the reason there have been so many bad reports on it is because the copyright software conflicts with freeware programs.
Do you not use freeware?

See, Purple's excuse is the only one I find valid from any I've ever heard. People care more for XP because it's what they know, that makes sense.
@Dude: I doubt it, since I don't really know what constitutes as a freeware program.

A freeware program is any program you can download off the internet that you will never have to pay 1 penny for, no matter how long you use it.
The ones I have are... Flash Player Shockwave Player Adobe Reader FLV Player VLC Player BitTorrent Camstudio DOSbox CDisplay GIFanimator AusLogics Disk Defrag UN-LOCKER Flash Player ASCII Translator Bikanel Translator Jolt3D Game Engine Firefox WinMugen (2D fighter) AND MY SCREENSAVER - LOL
BTW - programs that are free, but provide more functions if you buy a "full" version are called shareware.
examples... WinRAR DVD region decrypter CoffeeCup Editor

You can find a 1TB USB external harddrive for $200 at... http://go.iomega.com/en-us/?partner=4760
But I'd MAX out your RAM to 4GB first.
Since everything gets loaded into RAM, you don't want your computer crashing from lack of memory.
