"I..." Omi blinked, looking down at her watch-less wrist out of habit, then picked the cell phone out of her pocket. "Almost nine," she said, then stuffed it back where it had come from.

Write? She wanted Kiku to write? Oh dear...

The girl fidgeted then, catching herself after a moment and folding her hands in front of her to keep from doing it again. Kiku... can't really write well, she explained. But she'll try harder, and will write a letter to her mother! Kiku just needs a bit of time, is all. Her tutors always told her that she had great poten... pent... part.... that she could do it if she just tried. So she would try her hardest, and would bring Lady Baikou the note, the next time she came to the Udon-ya!

"'Nine o'clock'? ... Then perhaps he is already at work," Baikou murmurs, shuffling forward and climbing up the steps of the shop, pushing the door open with a soft projected greeting...

... ... ... Indeed, the main floor seems unoccupied. Maybe he left while Hitsuga was still inside, making tea? Baikou steps over the threshhold and peers up at the ceiling, gently prodding with her mind... No response from there, either...

Though Baikou is suspicious that at this hour, Rika will still be asleep.

Speaking in hushed projections now in case that is true, she explains to Kikushou that their communication device requires one to grasp the brush and write the message out by hand. Baikou believes that Lady Yuushou would surely love to see even a short and quickly-written message from her own daughter's hand... though if Miss Kikushou would really prefer, she can have Rika transcribe it for her.

Its possible, he allows... sweatdrop

He remains to the sidelines as Baikou opens the door of the small house, prodding it for signs of life. When met with silence, he squirms a bit. He knows that Setsushi must not be opposed to visitors in his absence if the doors remain unlocked, but it has been strongly ingrained in him that it is rude in the worst way to intrude on someone else's home uninvited.

And so he lingers outside for the moment.

Kiku will try? But she cannot guarantee that it will bea good letter... or even legible, really. sweatdrop But she will try. Perhaps if the words don't come right, a picture will do? She has always been good at pictures.

Kikushou paused in the doorway, peering around the Udon-Ya before tentatively following Baikou through the door. She'd only been in here once before, and that was the previous evening. She'd even found a... doll...

And there it was. Sitting on the table, even though Kiku was certain she'd put it away. It felt nice to have though, and she cuddled it tightly to her as she trotted after Baikou.

Is there anything Kiku can do to help?

Oh! A picture would work as well -- but it would have to be something simple, something Kikushou could complete fairly quickly. Because their supplies are limited, they cannot leave the brush active indefinitely like they do at the 'Scholars' Tower.

... Should Baikou wake Rika up, maybe? She wonders, peering up at the trapdoor. Perhaps if they prepared a lovely breakfast for her, she would forgive them and set up the brush?

How is Hitsuga's cooking, anyway? she asks, her look towards him showing the slightest hint of... impishness...?

He flinches a bit at being put on the spot and clears his throat as he moves to step into the house with them, realizing he must look silly lurking outside.

Hitsuga's cooking is....passable. Not nearly as good as Setsushi's, however. His skill in it ends at 'not burning things'.

....and....

.....he isn't sure what Master's feelings are on his kitchen being used when he isn't home. confused

Baikou feels fairly confident that he wouldn't mind it being used to feed his dear Rika, she says with a low chuckle.

... But then, as she approaches the kitchen, she murmurs under her break, "Oh, hello." It looks like there is already a plate sitting there with a towel covering it -- she tugs it aside a bit to peep under a corner and see some eggs and fruit on it.

Apparently he beat them to it.

Kiku can be quick, yes, and can draw something that her mother will know that she is all right. She moved along after Baikou then, staring curiously at the plate for a moment, then up at the two again. Was this the same Rika that Souyuu talked about? Kiku heard the name a lot since she'd been here, but hadn't really put the pieces together until recently. If so, then surely she was just as nice as the rest of the family and would let them use the brush?

Hitsuga won't say so, but his relief at the fact Setsushi had already taken it on himself to fix Rika's breakfast is apparent. Being a man of craft himself it has always bothered him to know someone has been into his tools without his permission. As Setsushi's craft is cooking, he would not rule out the possibility that he might feel similarly about others using his kitchen...

Keeping that to himself, he eyes Kiku curiously, gaze then shifting to Baikou. 'Same' Rika...?

Well, Baikou can't say for sure, of course, but she imagines that Souyuu would indeed have been talking about the Fifth Princess. 3nodding And there's no need for Kiku to worry about Rika giving permission! She and Baikou have been specifically tasked to report on Kikushou's wellbeing, of course.

She glances at the food again, then ponders -- "It wouldn't be a bad thing to wake her up, then, before it gets cold." And so determined, without warning the group, she turns her head to the ceiling shouts -- not too loudly by itself, but accompanied by a jarring projection -- "Rika, good morning!"
