Cold-Blood tilted her head and watched Vibrant become more excited by her own ramblings of the sky and of frolicking in the long grasses. She was a very odd doe indeed... very optimistic... with a sick sort of twist to things that only presented itself sometimes... Cold-Blood couldn't quite grasp this one's thoughts. She was all over the place. Not that this made her unappealing to be around, quite the opposite in fact. Cold-Blood found her a very interesting being, indeed.
"Eggs? Slimy? Well... yes they do tend to be slimy on the inside, and they do sometimes have little 'uns inside. The reptile ones I usually leave to Glint or Shadow. They're hard to chew, you see, because of their scales. But the snakes just swallow everything whole so it's no problem for them." She had began to ramble a little, and caught herself, "But yes, eggs are delicious." That glazed look came over her eyes once more and her muscles relaxed a little, "They're not hard to find, but they can be tricky to snatch depending on their guardians." Her stomach grumbled particularly loudly, just then. She looked down and shyly smiled, "Heh... guess I'm hungrier than I thought... with all this speak of tasty eggs and whatnot."

"Wh-whole..they swallow things whole" her eyes lit up as she listened, big and shiny you could almost see her imagination running with it."Whole..you mean no chewing or chomping or anything? Hee hee hee..now this I must see!" it was unfathomable to her, trying to imagine one of the sleek skiny snakes managing to get something like that down their throat whole.
"The way you describe them, heh, they do sound rather appealing. I doubt I'd have the nerve to go after one, but if I ever to get an easy chance..I might just try it" attention caught again by cold bloods words, her deep expression, something interesting had changed in it, a flicker of emotion, she seemed so excited while she explained her exploits, mmn and the eggs..
"Eeey someone sounds hungrrryyy" she dragged the words out almost teasingly, giving cold blood a bright grin. "Someone is definitely hungry! And I'm too curious, what do you say you show me these eggs eh? I mean..I've always wanted to see something like that, eggs..and eating them, and hee hee maybe try one myself" her tail wagged happily, ears flicking back and forth as she glanced around "Do you think you'd be up to hunting some down" she wasnt sure why ,but for some reason being around this doe made her feel suddenly bold!

She grinned sheepishly at the other's teasing words, and shuffled her feet. Vibrant seemed interested though. Interested in finding eggs, and watching the snakes eat things without chewing. She sure was hungry. Why not go on a search for some tasty eggs?
"Sure! I'm pretty hungry, and you might even like what they taste like," she winked at Vibrant and then turned back towards the way she came from, earlier that day. The sun was about half way into it's descent towards the horizon. "Perfect," she said, glancing toward the sun, and beckoning the other doe to follow, "The animals should still be somewhat lazy, not quite cool yet..." she muttered somewhat coherently as she led them into a deeper part of the swamp where the trees were spaced more closely together and there was lots of cover.
Cold-Blood perked her ears up and brought her head down low, about knee-level, so she could look under the leaves of the flora. She whispered to the other doe, "Keeps your eyes open, and look for any sort of nest. If we find a ground-bird's, chances are the momma will be out hunting."

"Wonderful! I get to taste new things..mmn and go new places, and, hee hee..and stalk" she giggled giddily, nodding her head eagerly as she followed in cold bloods foot steps, trying her best to copy the older does movements. Eyes wide and ears faning out scanning for any sort of noise..
"Ooh, ground birds, such odd things, birds belong up there" she whispered back almost dreamily, reminding herself a split second later to focus. At least she knew what a nest looked like, hopefully they wouldnt have to go see the crocodiles, at least not just yet, she wasnt sure she could handle that. "Ooh pst..cold.." tail swishing slowly as she nudged the does flank, motioning to the right of them, further into the thick trees where there was a dip into the earth...

Following the other doe's gaze, Cold-Blood saw what she saw. A dip in the ground could certainly mean a hidden nest, or perhaps even a den. She crept closer, right upto the peak of that dip in the ground and lay her head down at the entrance to a deep, dark burrow. She took a deep breath and blew all that air into the hole, and then turned her head quickly to listen. Silence.
Turning her head to face Vibrant, she said, "I don't think there's anything in there. If there had been, it probably would have made some sort of noise in reaction to the 'wind'." Nudging Glint, Cold-Blood beckoned him to go check the burrow out. Obligingly, he unwrapped himself from her leg and slithered down into the burrow. A minute or two passed before his shiny golden head could be seen. He was holding an egg in his mouth! But only a tiny one, not much larger than his mouth. As soon as he emerged into the light he swallowed the egg, which only created a very slight bump in his throat and upto about a third of his body's length, afterwhich it disappeared entirely.
"Well, that wasn't much of a show! Wasn't there anything bigger in there?" she said to the snake, who shook his head vigorously and returned to his favorite spot upon her left foreleg.
"Well," this time referring to the doe, "I guess we better keep looking. You can check the next burrow, if you like." And the search continued.

Vibrant let out a low sorrowful sigh "Aww..nothing was there huh? Hee hee, well..at least I know what to look for eh?" It was a bit dissapointing, honestly she'd hope she'd get to see the others hunt. Oh oh! Or or get an eggy, something a bit bigger at least. Head hung low as she listened to the two converse. "Eh..M-me! Hee hee I would love too! Ohh that'd be so exciting wouldn't it?" vibrant said eagerly, suddenly full of hope again, well if they were going to keep looking.
Then again it had been silly of her to think they would stop only after one miss. Bounding along to stand beside cold, eyes scanning the horizon again for any more holes or nests. She had at least learned something from this, cold blood seemed very knowledgeable in hunting facts, things she'd never even thought of. You didn't have to stalk butterfly's or flowers.

Cold couldn't help but let a smile creep onto her face as Vibrant became excited once more. Well... they were bound to find another soon. Maybe even something bigger and more impressive this time.
Shadow took this time to explore. He slid off of Vibrant's leg and down onto the ground. He disappeared into the underbrush with a few quick slithers. Cold-Blood gave him a mere glance before she returned to looking for a new burrow. After having walked for a little bit without success, there's a rustling on her left. She immediately drops to the ground and clicks at the other doe to do the same.
False alarm. It was only Shadow. And what he was nudging was even more interesting than the fact that he was covered with feathers. It was a large egg. Much too big for him to eat, even after unhinging his jaw, but he valiantly nudged it to keep it rolling until it ended up at the feet of the two does.

Vibrant crept along with cold, trying to keep her giggles and her grin at bay for fear that it may scare away whatever prey they were searching for. All the while in her head she kept trying to think up a song to their little hunt, something to do with eggs..sadly no rhymes would come to her, but she imagined later under the stars she could come up with something to hum to.
Skittish in her movements and wary of the snakes, hoping they would lead them to a good meal, they were hard to keep track of, such sneaky cute little things! At the sudden movement of cold and the light clicks vibrant followed the doe to the ground, crouching until her belly touched the earth, ears pointed and tail still, practically holding in her breath in trying to keep quiet. "Aww..tis just..ah..An egg! Hee hee, lookit Cold-blood lookit! Your little brother found an egg!" Yes if anything the snakes seemed more akin to cold bloods siblings then anything else.
Tilting her head, grinning as she appraised the thing, looking it over and nudging it gently with her nose. "Ahm..now what?" vibrant asked sheepishly, for while she knew they were to eat it she wasn't entirely sure how. Eggs didnt look or feel like flowers and butterflys, certainly didn't smell like them either! Hard shell and rough but rounded texture.

She nodded at Vibrant's exclamations, amused. Her snakes were indeed more family to her, than anything. They were what she was used to, they were who kept her company her entire life. Shadow accepted the praise and returned a nuzzle before darting back into that same bush.
Cold-Blood now set about to looking at the bushes skirting this area, looking for something. She nudged this plant and that one, until finally she found what she wanted. She returned to Vibrant with a large leaf, placed it on the ground, and then rolled the egg onto it. "There... now to open it..." She looked down at her feet, nudged the ground once or twice until she found a rock with a pointy end. She picked it up in her mouth, pointy bit out, and hit the side of the egg, close to the top three or four times. This created a line half way around the egg.
Dropping the rock, Cold-Blood stretched her neck forwards and gently pried up the bit of shell. It was a hole just big enough for a snout, and inside of it could bee seen the filmy egg white and further down, the yolk. Nodding to Vibrant she says, "Go ahead! Try some! We'll get to the yolk eventually, but first there's the white to get through. Tell me if you like it."

Vibrant watched curiously, a focused expression on her face, intent on watching Cold-Bloods every movement. She wanted to learn more about these 'eggs' Their taste and texture how to go about holding and cracking open such an intriguing creation. Eggs were interesting... "Oooh" vibrant sighed in awe tilting her head a bit as she watched cold blood procede to crack the egg open with a small pointy rock, it was just a small crack at first, growing and growing and oohh..The egg cracked and cold pried off the shell, the egg big enough to comfortable feed any kimeti who may come across hungrily looking for it.
"So thats how...ahh..w-wai Me? I can" she giggled nervously, eagerly edging forwards, greatful to cold bloods kindness. The doe didnt need to be so sweet to her, finding her an egg, letting her have the first taste even, such a new fun experience! She took a small sip of the goo at first, sucking some from the shell, she made a face at the slimy texture, licking her lips and curiously taking another taste... It didnt taste bad at all not as she had worried that it might. "Its, Its actually good! Whats a yolk though?" vibrant asked eagerly, hopping a bit from hoof to hoof before taking another small sip. She did indeed like it..

Cold-Blood watched the other female gingerly take to the egg and had to giggle. The orange doe was such a delight to watch, odd yes, but definitely interesting to be around. She poked her nose into the egg and came out with a sour look on her face, only to dive back in. Cold-Blood had never shared any experiences quite like this one. Sure, she had taught others to hunt even to look for certain things, but this was different than any other kimeti she had interacted with.
Cold-Blood cocked her head to the side when Vibrant asked her what a yolk was. Well.. there was only one way to tell her... and that was to show her. She took a step closer to the egg and bent her head down to the egg. "A yolk is..." Her nose poked into the egg, and she lapped up the last few gulps of egg-white. When she got to the yolk, she was careful to pucker her lips and gently suck on the edge of the yolk. Having picked it up in this manner, she lifted her muzzle and softly lay the yolk, still in tact on the leaf next to the egg. "This!" She figured it would be easier to explain like this. "This is the yolk. The middle of the egg. The yellow part. Where the animal would start to grow if the egg was fertilized." She dipped her muzzle back into the egg shell to finish the last of the egg-white, leaving the yolk to the bright female.

Vibrant let out a yip of surprise as she watched cold blood masterfully extract the egg yolk from the shell without managing to damage or smush either! It was...for the doe, an extraordinary act of precision, surely it took delicate care to manage that, odd since cold blood didn't come off as something delicate or dainty in the least bit. "Its...eh..its like a mini sunshine wrapped in a slimy slug goop.." she shook her head as she tried to describe it to herself in her own quaint way.
The facts of fertilizing..and..animals.."You mean it'd turn into a birdy? Odd..birds come from goop, hee hee, I'm glad we dont come from slime, that'd be way to odd!" she shook her head in wonder, curiously eying cold blood once again as she took up more of the egg white and slurped it down, tentatively lapping at the yolk of the egg she'd left for her.."It tastes..dryish.." somehow the yolk just didnt taste as good as the rest of the egg had.

Cold-Blood finished up the last of the egg white, and then pulled her muzzle out of the shell to lick her lips clean. She nodded along to what the orange doe said as she described the yolk and then proceeded to taste it. As the yolk slowly disappeared, Cold-Blood cleaned herself up a little, licking at a tuft of fur here and there.
There was a rustle behind Cold-Blood and her ears swivelled back to listen to it more intently, but it was only her black companion, Shadow, once more. He came out rolling a slightly smaller egg this time. Once the egg hit Cold's foot, the snake hissed up at her once and darted off in the direction he just came from. Glint decided to follow suit, sliding down her limb to the ground and after his darker counterpart. He stopped only once, to tug on the green doe's tail, before slithering away after Shadow. Realizing something had to be up, Cold-Blood chose to end this encounter politely and graciously.
She picked up the new egg and placed it on the leaf next to the open one and said, "You've been lovely company, Vibrant, but I must go now. I'll leave you this egg, and hope you will have learned a thing or two about them. Travel well." And with a small bow of her head, Cold-Blood turned around and trotted after her snakes. Another adventure awaited her.
((I felt this should come to an end, seeing as it kind of fit here. Feel free to add one more post for Vibrant's reaction, but otherwise I think this could be called finished. ^_^))

((-nods- It does seem perfect! -grins- Thanks for playing! -lurves on darkmoon-))
"You've been lovely too Cold-blood! Haha, I wish you warm days and butterflies my dear teacher" the doe nodded eagerly returning the graceful bow as she watched her now found friend trot off to follow her 'family' of snakes and such. Glad to have learned a new lesson, a new skill, vibrant sat down to eagerly enjoy the last egg. Not caring how messy she managed to get herself, she realized that she needed to learn a bit more skill when it came too egg cracking and eating and such. She would learn though, and improve, and maybe the next time she met her dear friend she would have a lesson for her... Yes a lesson and a batch of eggs she'd caught herself!
