Pilate stopped her munching and slurping to look up at Psyche. It was then she released she was being rude, very rude. This wasn't her kill and she was eating like she had taken part in the hunt. Her ears lowered but she took another bite any ways. Who knew when she would have such good fresh meat again. She had mastered the art of smaller pray but had yet to take down something so big, not counting the zebra baby Pilate had taken down with her sister.

"I eat well," Pilate started making sure she had no food in her mouth as she talked, "I just don't get fresh meat from such a large prey often. Mostly... rabbits and birds... some times rats and lizards if the other aren't readily aviable... and ummm some times left overs." The left overs usually weren't fresh and slim pickings. Even so, Pilate had little want most of the time and usually preferred to find her own kills before resorting to eating left overs.

The fact Psyche wanted Pilate gone escaped her as she munched, more politely, on the juicy flesh.

Psyche sighed, getting used to the idea that the girl was not going to leave unless asked directly. If it hadn't been a kid... she might well have done just that. But... well, it was only a little girl. No harm done by letting her stay a while as long as it wouldn't be forever. The girl did look a little starved anyway.

"Where are your parents kid?" She finally asked. She did think the girl was an orphan, it made the most sense, but she had to make sure. It could be a con maybe... make her lower her guard while the father, or caretaker, or whatever the hell, snuck up behind her and attacked. It wouldn't be the first time someone had tried something like that. Never with a child, but there were other ways of getting distracted.

At least the girl was eating more politely now though. Psyche's home might have been a bloody mess, but she did like it when people ate reasonably. Part of the mother in her, back when she had siblings she had to take care of...

Pilate's bright pink eyes blinked at Psyche as the question made its way around her ears. Parents. Something the cub had never known and probably would never know. If her parents had just left her, or if her parents had been killed along with any siblings she might have had. These were questions always in the back of the cubs mind.

" I wouldn't know where they are." Pilate looked down at the kill. She was still hungry but at that moment she didn't want food in her mouth. "I've never known them, from what I can remember I don't know what happened to them." She smiled up at the other.

Her attention was quickly returned to the kill , she licked the now showing bone clean.

Psyche tilted her head, "How on earth did you survive without parents?" She had no father growing up... she wished she hadn't had one at all, actually. She rather liked her mother... and missed her. Without the woman, she would have died, of that much she was certain.

"I myself... had no father, but a mother at least to tell me what to do and how to hunt." And she had learned fast when she had to. "Did you learn from friends or...?"

Pilate stopped eating and frowned. She had never thought how on earth she survived, dumb luck? Yeah that was it but the cub couldn't say that to this cheetah. It wasn't really a good answer.

"Well," The cheetah drew in a deep breath, "I suppose that I lucked out some... " She never thought about it but there had to be some unearthly being looking out for her. Some where there was some one with her well being on their mind. "I wandered around mostly, meet a lot of different creatures and even was adopted by a lion as a sister , though she isn't really all that grown yet either... I guess in the end I was lucky," She lowered her head some now. "What about you? Why do you live with all these dead bodies?"

That was something she'd been meaning to ask but got distracted when she was invited to dine with this cheetah.

Psyche was a little taken aback by the question. "I had a family... a mother, brothers, sisters... But they were murdered, and for trying to avenge them, I was cused." She looked around at the dead bodies, shaking her head and sighing. Her curse. "To never love, or care for anyone, barely even myself... until someone beat me in battle."

She very nearly laughed, waving towards the bodies, "These are all males who wanted to break the curse. Force me to love them, and only them, until the end of my life. But they were selfish pigs most of them... none cared for me, only the ability to claim they had won me like a prize. And I am no prize." She scowled a little.

"I am Psyche... a cheetah maiden doomed to fight for a freedom which isn't mind to begin with until the end of time... I doubt anyone will ever beat me, and even if they do... I doubt they will love me, as I have no choice but to love them, no matter what."

She sighed sadly, shaking her head, "These bodies are a warning. And my only company."

Pilate lifted her head in amazement and awe. "Don't say that! You'll get your freedom !! " The optimistic radioactive cheetah hopped on her feet and rubbed up against Psyche like a cat showing her affection.

"You can't give up!" Pilate took a few steps back toward the entrance of the cave. "If I have a son, I'll raise him to be a good loving and caring boy to come free you. You shouldn't be so alone, its heart breaking."

The look on her face was so serious and unfitting on such a small face. It looked just silly on that cute adorable cheetah cubs face. Pilate wasn't much of a fighter but she was one for freedom. Not having anything to care for, that just seemed unreal. It was a hard concept for the youngling to grasp. But here in front of her was one destined to never love until a male came and forced her into defeat. That wasn't right. If Pilate could help it, she'd make sure a good soul came to the rescue. One who burned brightly and cared as much for this female as she would when the curse was broken and not just as some trophy.

Psyche looked at the little creature, amazed. And she couldn't help it. She let out a short snort of a laugh, smiling at the little creature. So much spunk, with such a promise. She doubted that the little girl would keep it... and hope had been something she lost the meaning of after she killed the first male who found her. But the little one was honest, and she was good. Entirely pure. What a funny little thing...

"You'll send your good and loving son after me, will you?" She asked her, patting her head. "Alright then... if you raise a son, a good and caring one like you, who is strong enough to finally beat me... strong enough to free me from my curse... Then I'll wait here. I'll never give up hope, or my optamism." She promised the little girl, "I'll believe you'll send me a real prince to free me from my terrible curse."

Psyche didn't believe she would ever be free. Not really. And by the time the girl had children... she didn't think she'd be able to hold out that long. She hoped she would, but she didn't really believe it. How could she? But... it didn't hurt to dream that someone who actually cared about her would try and free her. Not just someone who wanted the power. Someone who would care and love her...

The small cheetah cub smiled, glad that she had made the other hopeful. Pilate planned on keeping her end of the deal, she would raise a son who would care for this cheetah so that she could finally be free.

"What other way would I pay you back for such a great meal?" She giggled and hopped towards the entrance, she needed to get back home after all.

Before she left she looked back in the cave and stared at Psyche, "I'll make sure that my dumb luck doesn't run out til then. Don't you worry, a boy will be born and you will be freed to a prince.

With that Pilate made her exit and hopped on merely toward her home. Pilate was a naive cheetah but she was also a loving, honest cheetah. The radioactive cheetah didn't give her word unless she intended on keeping it.

Psyche watched her go and smiled a little, not bothering to hide it when the girl was out of sight. She really hoped that the girl would keep her promise... and this was the first time in a long time that she had ever really felt that way.

The first time since her family died that she had felt anything that resembled hope in the slightest, actually.

"You better keep your promise. Because the Gods know... I could use a hero." She mentioned, because truth be told... she was getting really sick of being one.
