[Angela poked me...forgive me, please crying And sorry I vanished this afternoon; you guys were so nice I ended up sitting up too long xp ]

The cat perched carefully on the edge of the red stone wall, lifting its paw to its mouth with languid grace., sand paper tongue wrapping delicately around a mod-podge of different claws. Moth-eaten ears flicked back and forth as the beast picked through the noise of the crowd, searching for the distinct click-click of hob-nailed boots. A group of grubby-faced children crept close, the cat's mis-matched fur and enormous fluffy tail catching their attention. But one look at the gaping, eyeless socket sent them scattering in disgust, back to their game of stones.
The cat waited patiently, needing its paws against the stone. Its ears froze suddenly and the scarred face pulled further back to bare yellow teeth. Ah, the target.
Click-click, the hob-nail boots matched the soft scratch of claws against stone as the cat minced forward, tracking the mark. Easy, easy... it thought. Teeth bared, it made to jump, paws and claws spread wide to grab the man's neck ... when it felt an odd tugging, somewhere deep in its chest.

In a flash and a painful jek to the chest, the cat found itself hurtling out of a dark, dull sky and directly into a small knot of people standing in the middle of an empty plain. More precisely, it fell onto the head of a short, white-haired woman.
The cat reacted in the only sensible way it knew. It turned into a small, spitting dervish of claws and teeth. Which, sadly, only served to tangle it further into the woman's hair.

[OMGosh, I was laughing SO hard at your post.]

Angela saw the cat about .035 seconds before it landed on her head. She moved fast but not fast enough and the cat landed feet first in her hair and let out a yowl of anger.

Now, the truth of the matter was that Angela loved cats. Their grace and their general aloofness appealed to her personality. This cat, however, was quite disagreeable (and becoming very tangled in her hair--not to mention wreaking havoc upon her poor scalp. Getting the knots out later was going to be a pain). In addition to that, the cat didn't feel like a cat.

Being able to read the emotions of other creatures was very convenient at times. Even animals had emotions but that didn't mean they felt the same to her as Humans. There was a very distinct difference to the feel and smell of their minds and this cat did not feel like an animal. It didn't quite feel like a Human either but fell somewhere in between.

Shape-changer she thought. She was tempted to yank it out of her hair hair and give it a good toss across the wilderness but it was rather smaller than her and it was still a cat. And she felt a bit sorry for it. And in any case, she couldn't reach the bloody thing.

"Help? Anyone?" she asked, resigning herself to the fact that this place had it in for her.

Zen sighed, thinking that that last hit looked kind of painful. He bent over, fighting his coat while trying to pick up the cat off the light skinned lady.

He was still trying to respect the modesty of the women and personal space, but time for that was about over, pretty much no one other than the creepy little girl the man seemed to recognize had a shred of dignity left for first impressions.

"Gaaaaah!" Angela yelled as Zen pried the cat off her scalp. "Bloody Fleabag!" She rubbed her now tender (and probably bleeding) head and glared up at the sky. The next person or animal to fall on her was going to find out exactly what a lightning rod felt like because she was going to fry whatever it was before it got close to her.

She glanced at Zen, who was now struggling with the cat. "Um...so...thank you for, you know, rescuing me from the cat," she said, feeling her face grow hot. Ugh...was she blushing? Why was she blushing!?

The scene couldn't get any more awkward.

"Thank you for saving me from the cat?" That had to be the first time he was thanked for that, and to top it off she was blushing now. Zen remembered when he had had his face up against hers a second ago, and tried not to blush too in the odd situation before him.

"Thanks for saving me a from a cat?" How did a guy respond to something like that?
Zen wondered if his face as the color of his hair, and swallowed. "Ugh, you're welcome?" He said stupidly.

Inutai watched the scene of the woman who called herself Angela and the man who said to call himself Zen. It was pretty obvious to him the two were acting rather awkward to each other. He didn't know much about much, but he did know a thing or two about relationships. He smiled slightly and came up to the two of them.

"You two would make a cute couple!" he suddenly piped up, but was quickly yanked back by his chains when he did. Inutai cried out, landing on his rear.

"Do not say things like that," Toshi reprimanded, to which Inutai responded, "But it's true!"

[ gonk <-- Angela's facial expression throughout almost this entire post]

Angela stared in horror at the white dog-boy--Inutai was it? She'd just been thinking there was no way for the awkward situation to get any more awkward.

She had clearly been mistaken.

And she was almost absolutely certain her face was now beet red. GAAAAAAH! Why was she blushing? She was created for the purposes of sabotage, assassination, espionage, blowing stuff up. She was currently a mercenary pirate. Romance and physical attraction and all those idiotic things did not figure into the equation. And why was she bringing up physical attraction anyway!? It's not like she was attracted to the red head. Or that black haired guy who'd crashed into her.

She paused. Why was she even bringing him up!? GAAAAAAH!

She half covered her face with her hand and turned away to look at the distant mountains, willing her face and ears to stop burning. She cleared her throat softly.

"Anyway......how long a walk do you think it is to that forest?"

As touching as it knew the scene must be, the cat couldnt help but feel somewhat riled (or, rather, a tiny bundle of fury) at its predicament. Namely being uncermoniously crumpled in the arms of a red-haired man who was now sporting an an equally red face. The cat could barely breathe, let alone move, captured as it was. And, to add to its predicament, it was sure it could smell dog on the air. Dogs never boded well.
The cat need to get itself loose, and now. A sly green eye rolled about, looking for a way to escape. It fixed slowly on the red-head's wrist, exposed where his sleeve had been pulled back in their scuffle.

The cat bit down, hard, unwittingly breaking the rather awkward atmosphere.

In the vast outer world where the twelve figures watched over the events as they played out. Everything was silent and still.

Finally one of them spoke.

"Are these people really capable of saving us?"

"..." said the others.

The black-haired youth rolled his eyes.
"You're kidding, right?" He mumbled, weakly scrambling to his feet as he tried to maintain his balance.

"Awww....look at the kyooot lit-tle cou-ple," The redhead female murmured. But she had lost her mock-cheerful tone, and it came out as a snap; her face had become whiter, more cruel, and her heavily-lidded eyes looked at the other redhead and the white haired girl in distain. She, too rose to her feet, though more gracefully than her acquaintance. A round, white feathery ball of something squeaked as it dove into and within the ruffles of her dress.

He shot a glance at her, and his silver eyes widened. "Sin, don't." His voice carried a tone of warning, but she glanced at him in contempt.

Moments later, she had her hand gripping the throat of the cat, long, black-stained nails digging into its fur. She had gone from being ten feet away to brushing the arm of the other redhead in the clearing.

"Let go of this one, now, little friend," Sin cooed sweetly, with an equally sickeningly sweet smile. "If you be good, I'll snap your neck quickly...and quickly is just ever so boring, don't you know....?"

Oh, and if you want to see kind of how Sin acts when she's psycho, imagine Daniella from Haunting grounds (start watching about 8 min in if you don't want to be grossed out and confused...ignore or laugh your a** off at the narrator), except more talkative, and more sudden and insane.||

[Nim. I was going to reveal this in my next non-character post but it's not a big deal. It's around 9 in the morning. On a side note, Angela would probably be really fast to react to this but I'm going to resist the temptation to post and let Zen and Chee post first] ^_^;;;

The cat felt the hands crushing its windpipe. Alright, things weren't going as planned. Scrabbling against the red-head's arm, the cat worked a forepaw up to its forehead. Pressing tight against fur and skin, it began to split open its scalp.
Slowly the cat's head folded open, crumpling down like a fur stoll.
A short, white haired girl seemed to unfold from the tiny cat's body, her jaws clamped around the man's arm, her body pressed uncomfortably close to his. She appeared to have a cat's scalp perched on her head.
Slowly the girl rolled her bright green eye back to glare venomously at the woman.

Zen was having all kinds of confused thoughts while watching the woman try to stop blushing. He was wondering what brought that on for a while, other than personal space violation.... when the crazed cat bit him.

Some sharp teeth gouged his wrist hard, enough to where he was trying to stop some blood by using his undershirt. He began mumbling swear words in a dozen languages like Yosemite Sam, but then that girl came over....

Her, she was taunting him, and looked... well, like someone who usually ended up trying to eat him. He just watched her, now distracted from any minor cat bite pain. That red girl earned his full attention, for she reminded him of someone else.... someone else who was perhaps the only person he genuinely feared on occassion.

Angela didn't really stop to think about her actions. She saw the red haired woman move, she saw the cat transform and then she charged in.

Usually she found herself frustrated with her heritage but this was one of the times she was glad she was half fey. Faeries can move in the blink of an eye after all. Or swifter yet and she was no different. She moved fast.

She grabbed the red head's free arm and twisted it around to the edge of the breaking point, grabbing her shoulder with the other hand and essentially locked her movements before the other woman could react. And if the woman tried to move in any direction, she'd end up with a broken bone.

It was none of Angela's business really. She didn't even know these people and she probably shouldn't interfere but violence was violence and watching a woman who acted so much like her sister, attempt to hurt someone else, touched a raw nerve. She couldn't stand by.

"Let her go now," she said in a low voice. "Try to fight back and you'll learn very quickly what it feels like to have a few hundred thousand volts of electricity pumped through your body. I don't care who you are but this is not the time to pick a fight with someone else. So just let go."

I don't care who you are and this is not the time to pick a fight with someone else. So just let go." For a split second, so brief most would have thought they imagined it, fury filled the redhead's face. Then, any aura of anger around Sin evaporated, at least on surface level, and she smiled perhaps one of the most eat-s**t smiles anyone could ever wear.

The grin widened, as out of the corner of her eye she saw little Gypsum tense to jump into action.

"Sure!" She let go of the cat, almost cheerfully, surprising and confusing her captor. Gypsum opened his mouth to shout a warning...too late.

Then she spontaneously burst into black, flickering flames.
