Pardon my ignorance, but I was under the impression that the book lacked such things, and therefore, was not so great.

Oh my! I don't come online for five days and a Twilight thread opens up! At least it's a discussion and not an "I Love Edward Cullen!1111!!!!!!!!!11". Okay, I have read the first three books but they aren't anything special. There isn't any chemistry between Bella and Edward and Jacob's a jerk. People at school seem suprised that I haven't seen the film yet. I can wait until someone forces the DVD upon me. It's nothing great, really.
And thanks Lumanny xD those twilight comics on the first page cheered me up.

Harry Potter could kick Edward Cullen's pastey a**!
I always thought Twilight was for girls who weren't smart enough to understand Harry Potter. Don't take that personally Twilight fans, it was just kinda a joke I started with my friends who were Twilight fans. xd

Yes, he could, any day. And I'll say it is for those girls, though I too have some friends like that.

Something to show how Harry Potter is better than Twilight: It has it's own subforum on Gaia. What does Twilight have? A crappy sticky.

woolie Lol! Please someone explain to me what a mary sue is? I thought it was when the author made themselves into the book. A Mary Sue is a "perfect" character. It's a character with unlimited access to money (like Harry Potter), a character with perfect good looks without a physical deformity whatsoever (like Edward Cullen), the most popular girl in school with the hottest imaginable boyfriend (Bella Swan) and any bullshit like that. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mary_sue
