我就是你们女生最讨厌的那种人
I'm the kind of guy you girls hate most.
Don't go crazy and quote my post style. Quoting what I say is fine, but doing my post style is kind of nuts.

Ohh, ohh, I'd love to see photos after.

Don't really have any advice, since I'm not planning on getting married (quite the opposite--I plan to be the guy to wed couples!), but I'm sure it'll be lovely.

But he might actually think the Steampunk theme is a good idea, because in a way, it's far less formal than other wedding styles and themes, isn't it? But I have to be honest, if I was involved in a Disney or Hello Kitty wedding, priesthood would be out the door and I'd be punching babies (thank the heavens you were joking).

I hope you have fun erasing my post style, though.
John Stalvern waited. The lights above him blinked and sparked out of the air. There were demons in the base. He didn't see them, but had expected them now for years. His warnings to Cernel Joson were not listenend to and now it was too late. Far too late for now, anyway. John was a space marine for fourteen years. When he was young he watched the spaceships and he said to dad "I want to be on the ships daddy." Dad said "No! You will BE KILL BY DEMONS" There was a time when he believed him. Then as he got oldered he stopped. But now in the space station base of the UAC he knew there were demons. "This is Joson" the radio crackered. "You must fight the demons!" So John gotted his palsma rifle and blew up the wall. "HE GOING TO KILL US" said the demons "I will shoot at him" said the cyberdemon and he fired the rocket missiles. John plasmaed at him and tried to blew him up. But then the ceiling fell and they were trapped and not able to kill. "No! I must kill the demons" he shouted The radio said "No, John. You are the demons" And then John was a zombie.

对了就是那个臭男孩
That's right, that jerk.
The reason I did this? The more you type, the more gold you get. See, I'm really a jerk. Facts for the lulz of having them: Every year about 98% of the atoms in your body are replaced. The human heart creates enough pressure to squirt blood 30 feet (9 m). Sharks apparently are the only animals that never get sick. As far as is known, they are immune to every known disease including cancer. Your nails grow faster in outer space, probably because of the lack of gravity. Bruce Lee was so fast that they had to slow down his films for you to see his moves. In Klamath Falls, Oregon, it is illegal to kick the heads off snakes. In Florida, it is illegal to sing in a public place while attired in a swimsuit. When snakes are born with two heads, they fight each other for food. Canadian researchers have found that Einstein's brain was 15% wider than normal. 1 in 5,000 north Atlantic lobsters are born bright blue. "I am." is the shortest complete sentence in the English language. Lastly, honey is the only food that doesn't spoil.

Congratulations!

I don't really know anything about the organisation of weddings but you seem like someone who'll get things done. It wouldn't need to be full out steampunk if you think it would scare people away, just a bit more Victorian than the average wedding with steampunk elements included.

You'll have to post the photo's after, everyone wants to see them! whee

We actually talked about it and he thinks it's a slick idea. He even let me do his avi up for him.

Theme weddings can be tacky, so I would like to do it as classy as possible. Not to kitschy if it can be helped. It's just one of a lot of ideas.

We don't have a date set but if I'm still on Gaia when we do it, pictures will be posted.

For some giggles, here's something historically accurate!:

I think what might look really lovely, and something you might like as you said you're fond of disney, is Belle's yellow ball dress in an off-white colour.

Hey, I mean, it was up for Best Picture!:

Oh my goodness, I'm also getting married within the latter part of the coming year or so, and it had never occured to me before (peculiarly enough) to have a steampunk wedding!!
You are simply brilliant! I do hope you won't be angry is I borrow your wonderful idea. whee
Lol, my fiance is very traditionalist and has his own dreams about what his wedding day will be like, but perhaps I'll be able to throw the proverbial wrench into the clockwork of his plans, using the leftover gears for our wedding!!
Lol.

Me and my fiancee have been planning our wedding too, and Steampunk themes have been on the table. Just the color schemes have been fairly steamy in their aesthetic. We picked out my tux, and she got some pretty Victorian looking boots (I'll try and find a pic soon) for the big day.

This is my tux:

And when you're looking at tuxes with him, be forewarned that the overwhelming majority of male models look like douchebags (pardon the French).

I'll be a steampunk bride in '11 and am looking for advice, too! =D

Edit: My fiance and I are doing an antique pocketwatch in lieu of an actual cake topper ('cos those robots freak me out). Instead of flowers, try thinking bits of interesting scrap metal or something (just be careful when you toss it, man!)

Got married 4 years ago.

First thing to say is we married cheap and were engaged for 3 months, not your normal situation in this country (USA). My wife's mom made the dress, a simple one. My sister-in-law had a friend who has a degree in textile design, and they designed it and made it cheap. Cake was made by a friend (paid, but cheaper than usual) and in the shape of the millennium falcon (Wife's decision not mine before anyone flames me).

For the reception we had a bunch of pruned branches with glued sakura blossoms. (Asian themed reception) White table cloths they had in the church with Sage and Plum colored runners. Asian lanterns.

For steampunk, you might find people a little startled. Sometimes posing the theme as a clockwork neo-victorian may be a bit more friendly to some people you invite (the whole "punk" work throws some people).

First decide how clockwork, how steam, how mad-scienty, how victorian you want it. Do you want lots of metal or more lace? Do you want a pot bellied boiler in the corner (assuming you can find or mock one up), or more peacock feathers and ball gowns?

Ideas:
-Classical wedding cake white, with white piping of cogs would be cool
-Pocketwatches and top hats for the male wedding party (parents, brothers, groom, best men)

Watch a bunch of movies of the victorian era for ideas.
