Looking down at his claws, Touda decided that they, along with the fact that he was the size of a large housecat, would prevent him from learning to fence or use short blades. Which was sad, but he consoled himself with his superior agility. "He's got a long way to go." Touda informed Shade with a grin at Antony. He seemed all set to have a nice long chat with them until a distant noise distracted him.
"Uh-oh." He gave the two men a grin. "It looks like I've been missed."

"Do you want us to take you home?" Antony asked. "It's a bit dangerous out there when no one can see you." Which was a lie, since he was a spirit being, but he wanted to see where the small creature came from.

That was something Touda had to think about for a moment. He sat and scratched behind his ear for all the world looking like he didn't care while he debated wether or not it was a good idea. On the one hand, it would embarrass Charlie and Robbie terribly and maybe shame them into not making Anise sick anymore (though he doubted it). On the other hand, it might make the brothers Harte realize the gaps in their security. Then again, Touda wasn't terribly concerned about that. Being invisible to most people had it's definite perks.
"Okay." He agreed finally, looking towards the massive Harte Pharmaceuticals building that was near the park. "I live in there." He added.

"Would you like me to carry you?" Antony asked, lowering a hand for the small creature. He was certain he could touch him. He had touched ghosts before.

Grinning toothily, Touda took the outstretched hand as an opportunity and scampered up Antony's arm until he was perched on his shoulder. Wrapping his tail loosely around the other's neck, Touda's expression was nothing if not smug. "Sure! I'll ride up here." As if Antony had a choice.

Shade didn't even ask, although he was watching his son curiously. Antony lifted a hand, unconsciously trying to help the mononoke keep his balance as he started to the building that had been pointed out. "You live in a pharmaceutical building?" Antony asked.
That... was worse than being won in a bet.

"Yep!" Touda chirped. Not having any memories of living anywhere else, except the crate (which was way worse) the fact that he lived where he did seemed completely normal. "Anise an' me have cells in the basement." He didn't actually realize how awful that sounded. The cells were glassed in, white and clean and comfortable. "And Charlie and Robbie take us out to go to the zoo and stuff." He added. He did not add that the reason they were taken on outings was as a reward for Anise letting the brothers poke her with their needles and make her sick.

The expressions on the two males' faces were steadily getting darker. This was a child, as far as could be told, and he was living in a cell?
It was no wonder that they looked ready to kill someone (Shade moreso than Antony, since Antony was quite adept at concealing his thoughts) when they knocked on the door of the pharmaceutical building.
"We could just keep him," Shade said quietly.
"It's very tempting," Antony agreed.

The armed doorman (albeit subtly armed) didn't inquire of their business and simply let them inside. It was clear why a moment later when they stepped into the huge foyer of the building. While it was elegant and opulent and there was the pre requisite secretary's desk with the pre requisite busty blonde behind it, it was also clear that to get anywhere beyond the foyer would require not only a security badge but probably your first-born son as well.
"I'm hoooome!" Touda shouted, quivering excitedly at all the trouble that was about to happen because of him. He'd decided that trouble was trouble and therefore no matter what, it was worth causing.
At his shout a tall and well-dressed pair of auburn haired men standing at the secretary's desk turned, managing not to look flustered at the group before them.
"Touda!" Robbie clucked as the brothers came closer. "You're in trouble, you know."
Charlie eyed Shade and Antony suspiciously. "Can they see you?" He asked, not bothering to think about how stupid that statement would sound if they couldn't.

"Little white furry kid? Red spikes around his neck?" Shade asked cheerfully. "Not at all. But he does make himself known."
Antony held out his arm for Touda to go down if he wished. "We met him not very far from here," he said quietly. "He said that he lived here?"

Touda scampered down Antony's arm and leapt onto Charlie's shoulder. He began to preen himself very much like a cat would.
"That'd be the one. He lives here all right." Charlie frowned. "Thank you for bringing him home. The little bugger snuck out."
"M'not a bugger. M'Touda." Touda informed the room at large, eliciting sighs from both the brothers.
"Yeah, thanks." Robbie added, low-voiced.

"Then we'll be going," Antony said before Shade could reply. "But I hope you won't mind us stopping by once in a while? I would think that Touda would get lonely, since only a few people can see him." It wasn't really a question.

"Sure!" Touda chirped, bouncing a little from one foot to another. "Come back and play with me! Maybe you'll get good with your sword and then you can show me."
The brothers Harte exchanged doubtful glances and made some eloquent eyebrow gestures to one another as if telepathically coming to some sort of understanding.
"Of course." Robbie said smoothly after the brief pause. "Heres our card." He pulled out a business card and handed it across to Shade. "You'll need to make an appointment, of course."

"Goodbye, Touda," Antony added as they walked out of the building.

"Bye!" Touda chirped cheerily at the two retreating figures. The moment the door closed behind them, the brothers Harte rounded on the little mononoke, their displeasure plain as day.
