Fine? Yuki had darted his gaze toward Blade with worry, but soon enough his motives were clear. Yuki didn't expect him to flee, but it certainly would have been nice if he wasn't the only one the bandits had to look at. If they didn't have Hitsu, this wouldn't be nearly as difficult as Yuki found it now.
The bag had caught the two by surprise, though it would provide a distraction it was far from enough to keep them occupied for long.
It was made all the worse when the leader showed his clear disapproval of Blade's trick by pulling a long dagger from his belt and pressing the sharp edge to Hitsu's neck. Hitsu shut her eyes tightly, whimpering fearfully as her tears flowed free.
"That was rather brave of you, boy... But foolish."
Yuki's heart felt like it was in his throat, he was looking around for a sign of Blade in a panic. "He's got a dagger!" He didn't know if Blade could see what was going on entirely, and he certainly didn't want him to do something that would have this man drawing that blade across his sister's throat.

It worked, though now Yuki had the rest of the bandits to deal with. Staying low, he moved slowly while keeping some distance between himself the group in general. For now, the glow of light coming from the fires were enough to at least give him a good sense of direction. The figures of everyone were rather vague with the heavy fog, though Yuki's words soon gave him a better idea of what was going on.
Frowning, he carefully sheathed his sword and grabbed his dagger instead. The thief would have to do this carefully if he didn't want to cause Hitsu's death by accident. He continued to slowly make his way around the group, sneaking towards the lead. Now and then he would stop all together. Maybe they'd believe he had fled for good if he took long enough.

As Blade crept his way around in an attempt to get to the leader, the two men he'd thrown his bag at struggled to beat out the flames on their clothes and the ground around them. They hadn't expected them to know magic; it wasn't a common thing for this group of bandits to see.
Yuki's anxiety was betraying him, and this time the vibrating of the earth got their attention.
"D'you feel that?" One said.
"It feels like the ground is shaking..." Another in the trees stated.
Unfortunately, their leader was better educated than they were. He took no time to bellow out an order; "Knock him off his feet and keep him down!"
No sooner had Yuki realized that three of them were running at him full speed, he'd thrown up a large shard of earth to defend himself.
It stopped one. The other two lunged at him and brought him to the ground hard. He cried out in panic, pinned on his back. Struggling violently against their grasp, he couldn't get free. The weight of one was on his legs, the other holding down his arms.
"Blade!" It was all he managed before he was silenced by a tight, suffocating grip around his throat. He hadn't taken a breath beforehand. His lungs felt like they were on fire, his vision already blurring. The laughter of the man holding his sister seemed miles away, his sister's own scream muffled as he drifted on the brink of consciousness.

The ground trembled below his feet, making Blade pause to wonder where that had come from. It didn't take him long to realize they were coming from Yuki; he didn't realize the guy knew any earth magic until now. But it wasn't going to do them much good as the guy was soon bumrushed.
Gritting his teeth, he picked up the pace a little until he was behind the lead. He was no assassin, but years of sneaking around to steal things at least gave him the skills to move about discreetly. The thief couldn't just attack the guy with the risk that the bandit would jerk his arm out of shock. So instead he just slowly rose up to place the tip of the dagger at the side of his throat. With his free hand, he went to grab the man's arm with the hope he wouldn't be able to get away.
"I said. Let her go," he repeated calmly, "And I suggest you call your men off my friend as well."

The leader grinned darkly, frighteningly unconcerned with the fact he had a blade to the side of his throat. "If I don't?" He answered calmly, his grip around the girl tightening as she struggled against him.
Hitsu didn't care about the blade to her own throat anymore, and lucky for her he'd not planned on killing her. For now. Her captor was not about to dispose of a pretty girl before he had his way with her. She was frantic; screaming and crying as she tried to demand the two men to leave her brother alone.
What vain struggling Yuki had been showing had quickly become weaker, now stopped entirely. The man holding Yuki's arms quickly released him and backed off at the sight of Blade. It didn't stop the one with the choking grip around his throat from squeezing harder in his anger, reluctant to let go. Hitsu's screams seemed only to fuel him. Yuki was already still; lifeless.
"That'll be enough!" The leader finally called, firmly. It was then that Yuki was released just as roughly, the other man rising and taking two slow steps back with a look of pure loathing aimed at Blade.

In response to the man's question, Blade simply pressed the tip of the dagger into the guy. It was just enough to draw blood. However, the blade began to slowly heat up as small flames began to flicker into existence. The situation with Yuki did not look good at all, but he needed to remain calm. A wrong move could get himself into deep trouble as well, which would mean Hitsu was on her own.
Still if it came down to it, he wouldn't hesitate to kill the bandit if needed. The thief would harbor no guilt with bloodying his hands with the likes of these men.
Thankfully, the ones assaulting Yuki were told to lay off.
"He'll be alright Hitsu," he whispered, hoping to calm her. In truth he wasn't too certain how far the guys had gone with strangling her brother.
"Now release the girl," he demanded firmly once again. He thought of demanding for their supplies as well, but he wasn't going to push it, "Or do I need to slice your throat first? I'll say this much; there won't be any pretty women to ******** in hell."

The point of the blade pressed painfully against the side of his neck, accompanied by the burning as Blade heated the metal with his magic. Just their luck that they would run across magic users. The leader met Blade's eyes and held them there for several long seconds. Then, finally he appeared to give in.
"I'll let her go, boy..." He leaned away from the pressure of Blade's dagger slightly, loosening his grip on Hitsu. However, no sooner had she begun to try and take a step he violently shoved her toward the three men who had gone after her brother. They were eagerly waiting for that moment, three sets of hands taking hold of her roughly and pulling her to them.
Wheeling around to face Blade, the leader drew a short sword from his belt and swung it in an attempt to knock Blade's weapon away.

A foreboding sound filled the air, that of a sudden rushing wind, a change of weather almost, a dreaded bit of deadly storm like the thundering buffet of a tornado fast approaching. Yet, nearly as fast as the mind could process what might make such a sound, there was a deafening crack, like that of a large canvas sheet being snapped in the air, but even that sound was followed quickly with a rush of smoldering air, like the waves of heat coming from the fires of a heavy forge.
Strangely, all this noise and heat came from a very specific location that was abruptly obvious to everyone in the air. The large form of dragon wings stretched across the air, centered around a single man, with wild hair and deep fiery eyes. His clothes hung in relative tatters around his body, colored dark to hide the scorches and burns from his temper and magic. His hands held either side of the young girl's shoulders, keeping her perfectly still as he towered over her. His voice was dark and low as he leaned down to the girl's frightened ear to whisper, "Don't worry, Hitsuzen. Everything just got better."
As Hanse straightened his back, his wings flapped once at the ends, driving a blistering heat in a powerful wave around him, driving away the dense fog that crippled everyone's senses. His dark eyes scanned the few bandits that were apparently giving this group of acquaintances trouble, giving each of them a glare to melt the strongest of steel. His wings slowly retracted to his back as his hands left Hitsuzen's shoulders, his fingers popping loudly as stretched them out, looking to the three bandits that were planning to have their way with the girl, then his eyes scanned the horizon briefly, piercing the darkness with a deep red glow as his magic filled him, permitting him to cut through the night, spotting a few more bandits off in the distance. His head canted off to one side slightly as his eyes widened a little bit, giving him a truly lunatic appearance, his voice sounded with deathly vehemence, "If you value anything in this world. Leave." His tone reverberated a final note, as a deep, animalistic growl resounded from his throat.

While he awaited the man's reaction, Blade did not let up. Even when his grip loosened on Hitsu, he still watched for any last minute tricks. And sure enough the guy had shoved her towards his men before spinning about to disarm him.
As close as he was to the guy, he was only able to start pulling back while this happened. The dagger flew from his hand but he was already moving to get away to draw his sword out once more. Just as he turned to face the bandit with the blade in hand, something had come whizzing down nearby with a wave of heat.
In the darkness, the form of the newcomer was rather vague to him, but he soon realized who it was; the half dragon, Hanse. The thief's eyes shifted from Hanse to the leader before him, watching to see what the man would do. By no means did he lower his guard. Being closest, he would likely be the first to be attacked should all of this continue.
While he was at it, he looked over the bandit leader, trying to see if there was anything worth snagging.
