Aah, yes, his love of books is part of why Kouyo works here right now; he glances away as he tells her this, and does not betray any of whatever emotions he has on the subject. And then responds to her cheer about unraveling the mystery with little more than a glance and a half-hearted smile.
The High Priest opens up again on the topic of culture, however - it does sound like the culture is effectively the same, so Miss should not have anything to worry about. They can presumably all go back to acting just how they did back home ... for the most part.
"Seek permission from your guardian, then," the priest urges her after a moment, a gentle smile again forming on his lips as he projects a shy feeling of warmth. "And... I will be there to find out what I can about the place itself."

Books are wonderful, as are the mysteries in life. They give us something to ponder when all is calm, correct? She smiles back, excited and happy to have another book-loving friend.
Oh, well...That's a relief. Meirou won't have to do anything different then! But...She must pack lightly, seeing as how many books Jilan returned with. sweatdrop She will likely do the same.
"I shall! And I'll pass word to you here, then?" She asks, smiling brightly again, though a bit of unsure thoughts pass through her projections. "Though I am unsure what she will say."

Kouyo laughs softly and nods. He expects to return with many books as well.
... And speaking of many books, "I must finish my work here before I will be ready to leave. I believe just a few more days," he tells her, allowing a touch of tiredness that had been previously concealed to slip through his Lucid walls. "And then perhaps a day or two of rest, and I will be ready to depart."
After warily glancing the remaining stacks, boxes, and shelves over, the High Priest's eyes return to the girl before him. Then he glances away again. "If you cannot find this little bird here in this bookstore, then he is perched at Setsushi's home, should Miss need to come and find him."
Xiao Huo chimes in to add that he likes to follow Kouyo around, but he also usually lives with the Sorcerer Kumoru because Setsushi does not have enough house. He... has no idea how to explain where Kumoru lives, but he and his dolls come to the bookstore a lot, too.

Meirou smiles brightly at Kouyo, so happy to have found a fellow book-lover.
"That is fine." She nods, giving a gentle warm feeling of a slight worry for his tired state. "I will give you my reply as soon as I can, then."
"Setsushi's home...Is the udonya, correct?" She asks, wanting verification on the subject as she starts toward the door to let Kouyo finish his work.
Meirou smiles at Xiao Huo, nodding. Perhaps Meirou will have to bring him a gift for his dolls upon her return. And now she must be going to let Kouyo work, and so Xiao Huo can continue practicing his spying, right?

"Yes, we both live at his little restaurant," Kouyo confirms with a tiny fond smile. He is pleased to have met her, and hopes that she has a nice day.
Xiao Huo seems excited by the idea of more spy practice, the evil vacuum forgotten for the moment. He can spy on Kouyo ... although he suspects most of the enemy activity will consist of moving books around in different boxes. It looks like the High Priest's attention is on Meirou for the moment, though, so while he is distracted, Xiao Huo crawls clumsily into one of the empty cardboard boxes, shuffles around inside, then peers out over the top at Kouyo.
