Midnight grunted in pain as the boulder hit her. Shaking herself off, she growled and charged at the boulder chucking ghost.
Lisa wiped some sand from her glasses, calculating her next move. "Keep at it, Midnight! 'Special' Sucker Punch!"
Midnight whipped around, filling not her paws, but her tail with dark power. The tail sliced through the air at the Gengar.

Dreydonna managed to dodge the attack and began cackling, her mocking face looking down on Midnight.
"Rock Smash!" Renekai said, not quite daring to hope for a victory just yet.
Dreydonna attacked once again, still laughing evilly.

Midnight staggered as the attack hit, but held on. Barely.
Lisa knew this would probably be her last chance to strike against her opponent. "Crunch!" she commanded, and left the rest to Midnight.
Midnight launched herself at her opponent and bit viciously at the laughing Gengar.

Dreydonna waited until the last second before dancing away, still laughing. She stuck her tongue out and blew a loud raspberry, just to get on Midnight's nerves.
"One last time, 'Donna! Rock Smash!" Renekai crossed her fingers.
Dreydonna gave her final attack a bit of an extra flourish; she caused the rocks to fly around in the air a bit before sending them hurtling at Midnight.

Midnight was thrown several feet in the air by the bolder that hit her side. Fortunately for several of her unbroken bones, she landed in soft sand. But she was in no condition to fight, and stayed on the ground.
"Return, Midnight!" Lisa called as she pulled out Midnight's safari ball and drew the Pokemon back inside. "Man! Luna's gonna be really mad now. My first battle in her gym and I lost." The glasses wearing girl smiled a bit, however. "That was a really good battle, though. I don't think I've ever gotten that into a battle before." Lisa swallowed her pride and walked off the trainer podium to shake her opponent's hand.

"Return, Dreydonna!" Renekai called, bringing the triumphantly laughing ghost back into her pokeball. "Seriously, Donna," Renekai muttered. "I'm going to need to find an exorcist for you..."
Renekai left her spot as well, meeting Lisa and shaking her hand. "It was a good battle," she said, smiling. "Let's do it again sometime."
