"Tsk tsk, the poor little puppy is as blind as a newborn." Helium continued to taunt as Midnight only bit into haze. The ghost pokemon was hiding its form quite effectively.
Right as Midnight's jaws closed, another bolt of lightning crashed down on the dog pokemon from right beside her.

[[ Midnight's a girl. Or are you referring to helium? ]]
"Come on!" Lisa half whimpered. "Our luck just isn't good today. Let's try then.... Payback!"
Midnight took the lightning bolt with a muffled yelp, but turned and struck toward the source, seeing the Haunter's unique feature.

((Sorry, I totally phail at gender sometimes. ))
Helium's eyes widened a small fraction when Midnight actually managed to scratch his cheeks. But Helium was not one to easily loose his inner calm. The haunter simply faded his presence away within the mist and returned to his pattern of taunting his opponents.
"Were you happy for that hit?" Helium asked, his voice vibrating through the mist to prevent his opponents from discerning his exact position. "Sadly doggy, you're too weakened to ever try to finish me off!"
At that moment, another flash of lightening was the only warning Midnight got before another thunderbolt headed his way.

[[ ... I see. xD ]]
Midnight gritted her teeth as she was once again assaulted with electricity. The annoying ghost type was, sadly, right. She was weakened by the lightning strikes. Not to mention she should be sleeping, not fighting right now
But neither she nor her trainer were going to give up yet.
"D-Dark Pulse!" Lisa cried hoarsely. She too, was tired. But she was going to finish this cleaning job if she had to fend off the wayward ghost herself.
Compliantly, the houndoom let loose a radial shock wave of dark energy. The ring writhed and crackled with what looked like black lightning as it went outward from Midnight's fur.

The attack, since it covered the whole field, managed to part some miss and damage Helium with a small wound. Sadly, the ghost pokemon was quite experienced in the art of hiding and disappeared again before Midnight was able to get a good lock on on his location.
Most likely to the houndoom's surprise, Helium reappeared right between Midnight's four legs below his stomach. A loud cackle cued several bolts of electricity flooding the field, concentrated at Midnight's exact location.

The crackling and popping of the electricity mixed with growling as the bolts singed Midnight yet again. She practically seethed with negative emotions as she heard, but didn't see, the elusive ghost.
Lisa, however, saw the ghostly form underneath Midnight, and thought quickly. "Quick!" she yelled with a sense of urgency, "Use Dark Pulse again!" Lisa didn't want the opportunity provided by the Haunter (at least, it looked kind of like a Haunter) being so close to go to waste.
Feelings of annoyance, anger, annoyance, some fear for Lisa's safety, annoyance, and frustration (and did we mention annoyance?) coursed through Midnight's body as she focused it into raw dark energy. With a hiss-like sound emanating from the Houndoom's mouth and a quick flex of her muscles, she sent out the dark energy as another pulse.

Midnight's trainer loudly yelling off the next attack was a great help to the ghost pokemon. Before Midnight midnight launched the pulse of dark energy, Helium darted into the safety of the skies where Midnight, a ground-bound pokemon, could not reach.
"Ahh, nice try pooch, that just may have stuck me...if your trainer wasn't dragging you down."
Then, electricity poured down from the sky as if representing Helium's judgment of the duo.

Lisa cringed as Midnight got hit by the lighting. It was a glancing blow, but with lightning, a glancing blow was just as bad as a regular one. The ghost seemed to be able to tell when Midnight was going to strike. Lisa had observed this from its movements. It was time for drastic, and somewhat hap-hazard measures.
"Midnight! This move is yours!" Lisa prayed that this would catch the floating ghost of guard.
Midnight practically hissed with anger. That his became smoke, then bright blue flames as the Houndoom unleashed a massively hot Fire Blast at the Ghost Pokemon.
