Should smoking tobacco be illegal? No
Should smoking in a car be illegal? No (I'd be arrested by now)
Should there be more restrictions on purchasing them? No The practically have it locked tight

My opinion is that smoking should not be illegal becaus like people have said earlier, the gov't makes money off the taxes (which Obama blows as fast as my sister unemployment (a week)). I am one of the teenagers who are dumb and smoke underage. I think that it's really up to the parents to not smoke around children, and in hospitals it's actually illegal to smoke outside of a designated smoking area (usually about 20 feet from the door). My friend actually knows I smoke and just walks out of the room if I smoke while he's here, or I smoke before he gets here. If parents decide to smoke around their kids, then they should know the consequences that are happening to the kids.

I believe that smoking should not be banned, not because I'm a smoker, but because of the lesson that America has learned due to Prohibition in the 1920s. Prohibition was when the U.S. government passed the 18th amendment: the banning of alcohol consumption, manufacturing, and sell. Soon later, tons of people started to smuggle alcohol for the men to drink and made a lot of money. Wondering what was so good about alcohol, women and children joined the bandwagon.

It's kind of like, the more laws there are, the more people would want to break them. And alcohol and smoking are like money to some people; they can't live without them. If there was ever a law created to ban sneezing, coughing, or anything like that, people would still do it anyway; they can't help it.

well if tobacco is legal then marijuana should be too. its healthier then tobacco, not physically addictive, and the hemp grown can be used for other products as well. that should be a choice as well.

Just want to point out some of the things you have gotten wrong.

THC the chemical that is in Marijuana is highly addictive just as much as smoking. I partake in the odd smoking of Marijuana. I think it could be legalised in both the US and the UK. If they put health warnings on it like cigarettes and tax it just as much as cigarettes then it could be a way of saving both our economies. However i will also say that it is not healthier to smoke, there is a risk of schizophrenia, and paranoia. None the less i think the health risks about even themselves out with tobacco.

Just my opinions here... oh and tobacco should not be banned for pretty much all the reasons everyone else has said. Its peoples choise and the government makes waaaay to much money from it.

The government was supposed to protect our freedom not regulate it. I do not smoke, have never been a smoker but a lot of my family and friends do. While I don't like or really agree with smoking it IS our right to do so if we want. Stop regulating our rights.
