"Can't you just understand without being told?!" Nek replied, raising her voice to match Reina's without realizing she was doing so. She growled and bared her teeth in a grimace, knowing that she couldn't fool Reina into thinking anything other than what was really happening. That knowledge was indeed scaring her, almost as much as the thought that Kuit could appear at any moment and run Reina through.
She shook her head and stood up, backing away from Reina, "It'd just be easier for both of us if you just left me alone! I want to be left alone! I just want to be left alone!" Her voice quaivered a little as she shouted her last sentence, making her clench her teeth again and force herself to come back under her own control.
At this rate Reina was going to win, the only other option Nek had left was to run away, as her cowardly little self seemed to know how to do before the danger got there. She had already admitted that she was a coward and admitted it to someone she despised almost as much as Kuit. What more was she expected to do? Was she meant to tell Reina her story? she asked herself, was she really meant to get Reina killed?

Reina looked down, "Why are you being such a coward....." she said quietly then looked up at her with almost a blank look. "You act tough but seem weak... Is that what you want to be known as? I don't think you are weak, Nek.... or a coward but from what you say.... It makes me think otherwise." she sighed, "What is soooo bad that you can't tell me?" she asked.

"Because I am a coward," she replied softly, biting her bottom lip and forcing her gaze to the ground angrily to avoid glaring at Reina, "I keep trying to tell you, I am not someone you should want to hang around..."
Her hair fell over her shoulder and she broke out of her glare to glance at it in confusion. When had it gotten this long? She brought a hand up to run her fingers through it, wondering when the last time she gave it a trim was. Eighteen had been how old she was when she first began running from Kuit, how old was she now? How many years had it been that she had indulged herself in the cowardly nature she now found herself facing?
She was almost thirty, her birthday would be in March. That meant she'd been running away now for... For twelve years... Twelve whole years...
When she looked up again her eyes had returned to their normal texture and vibrancy, hardened with an edge of seriousness that meant this type of conversation would not happen again. After a long moment of staring, her mouth opened and she spoke grimly, "I will tell you my story."
