About that time, his dark skinned father walked by, looking up at Taylor. "Do you need a hand with that?" he called up, raising a brow.

Penny of course was nowhere to be found having disappeared moments earlier to find a staff member to help them realizing that the bikes were chained to the racks and they'd need someone with the key's to get one out. The pink haired woman had never seen her son climb into danger.
Taylor shook his head fiercely at the offer of help " I can do it." having noticed the chain himself but too impatience to wait the red and blue eyed boy twisted the metal object and yanked hard trying to force it out from it's confinement. The pride child succeeded only in sending himself flying backwards into open space.

With the precision and skill of someone who was used to moving fast and catching things, Zanezidam managed to lean in and snatch the boy out of the air before he fell too far.
"You're lucky I'm a trapeze artist, kid." he joked lightly, setting Taylor on the floor beside Shylock, "You can wait to try for that bike again until after one of the store workers gets here."
The brown skinned boy smiled a bit at Taylor again. "Was it as nice from up close?" he asked idly. Was there really any point in asking about the other child's health anyway? He had been caught so there really was no worry.

The pebbly skinned boy nodded " Yeah it was really neat , I want that one. " Blue and red eyes flicked between his savior and Shylock resting on the boy again " What's a trapeze artist?" Taylor figured the other boy would know what his father did. For the most part he had already recovered from his short fall and felt no fear at all from the experience.

Shylock thought for a bit on how to explain that. Heard all sorts of grown up terms, he had, but heard how to explain what a trapeze was to someone who'd never seen it? That was a bit harder.
"S'like a swing on a swingset, only it's just a bar instead of a seat, and you hold onto the bar and hang reaaaaaaaally high in the air and do flips and stuff. And you like let go of the bar and look like you're gonna fall but do a flip and grab another. And sometimes you grab another person's hands and you flip them in the air while holding onto the bar with your feet!" the boy explained, making a few hand gestures as he spoke.
Behind the boys, Zane laughed quietly, amused by his son's explanation.

Taylor's eyes grew wide and he turned to stare at Shylock's father, this man was amazing! He was even cooler than Penny!. Some small part of the pride child became disgruntled at that thought, that his Penny wasn't as cool as someone else, that he didn't have the best parent. " So cool" he whispered.
By that time the pink haired woman had returned with a bored looked employee in tow. She smiled over at Taylor, it seemed he'd managed to stay out of trouble for the few minutes he was unsupervised.
The uniformed teen looked over at Zane questioningly " you want something unlocked too." There was nothing helpful in his tone and he had perpetual look as if just existing was straining.

The dark skinned man nodded, giving a quick look at the other bikes in the area. "Yeah, the green boy wanted this bike. And my son will take this one." Being he was tall enough to reach up and rest a hand on the bikes in question, he first touched the one Taylor had wanted when mentioning it, and then touched a similar one next to it in bright red. Shylock hadn't really cared that much but as Zane had been moving his hand and saying the words, he'd seen which one the boy glanced at.
Shylock grinned. That bike was nice, just like Taylor's. If it was good enough for his new friend, it'd be fine for him and the kids at the Cirque.

With a nod the employee quickly got down the two bikes in question then wandered off before any more work might be demanded of him.
Taylor looked first at his bike then over at Shylock " I have to go now but you should come riding with me sometime." He only knew the other boy a bit but Taylor found him weird but neat and the boy's father was really cool. All combined this made Shylock a good candidate as a friend.
Penny looked over at Zane and smiled, she had no problems with this it was up to the other if he wanted the boys to meet again.

Shylock smiled at the invitation, turning to look up at his father in asking for his permission. Zane glanced down at him, nodding and giving a shrug. "S'fine with me."
The green haired boy's smile brightened at his father's words as he turned back to Taylor. "Sounds good to me."
And with that the two boys went to have their bikes paid for and off they went.
