Korin ~Parson's Ave. East District~
Korin pushed her small ear piece farther down in her ear. I can barely hear what they're saying! She peeked around the corner and looked at Deirdre, trying to read the girl's lips. No good. She sighed and leaned her side against the wall. She brushed her hair out of her face, realising how hot the day had already become. She stared at the ground and kicked at a few pebbles, when she, too, heard the screeching. She heard Deirdre's terrified voice scream "KORIN, MOVE!" The words barely registered until the dazed Korin whirled around, seeing the black car speeding towards her. She felt a brief moment of terror before being thrown and slammed into the wall on the opposite side of the alley. She hit it full-on with her back, and, after impact, she slumped to the ground. She didn't move for awhile, but just breathed kind of heavily. She then moved her shaking hands to her head to check for blood, and, finding none, remembered the spell she had cast on herself that morning. Thank God... she breathed. She then looked up at the car that hit her. That b*****d hit me! WITH A CAR! She jumped to her feet and started gathering her energy, the colour leaving her eyes. I don't care who he is. I'm going to kill him.
((There, Saz! Help any!? whee ))

(( biggrin Yup! Thanx! But you didn't have to be hit by a car. sad ))
Sazuko: ~Back Alley, Parson's Street, East District~
Sazuko eyes widened as she saw a car hitting another girl, whom she assumed was this 'Korin'. Soon her fear became anger. Then her anger became rage.
She watched as 'Korin' get up as if she wasn't hit by the car. She doesn't even look like she's bleeding, she thought, now suddenly amused by the thought of blood. She turned back around to Deirdre.
"SEE! THIS IS WHAT YOU GET FOR DOING WHAT YOU GUYS DO! TRYING TO HELP EACH OTHER! THEN THEY TELL EVERYONE WHO YOU ARE! YOU CAN'T TRUST ANYONE! ANYONE!!!!!!!" She practically spat in the poor girl's face.
Soon Sazuko turned around and ran. She ran so fast, faster than she thoguht she could do her whole lifetime, being as such an unathletic person as she was. She got into her apartment, quickly unlocked the door, and flopped down on her bed. ANd then she began to cry.
"All of my hard work to become invisible. All......gone..." she muttered as she fell into a deep slumber...
((Sorry for such the short post. whee ))

Bloom_Wnd ((MUST. CRASH CAR!!!! scream whee ....)) Hiram: ~Parson's Street, East District~ Samuel: ~Parson's Street, East District~ Well, holy ********. That was his first thought, not necessarily because the car had just went into the alley way and hit a girl sidelong, but because HE had not been holding the wheel when it did. He knew better than to go against his partner and try to wrestle it back in those few split seconds, but he was going to be angry about it. Later. Right now his adrenaline had sky-rocketed and he was excited in almost a happy way. He didn't know who the other two women were by sight and he didn't care. He knew the other girl was Sazuko, and he knew she would run away. Samuel yanked the car door open after the second try. His seatbelt had come off fine, but the autmatic locking mechanism on the newer cars was annoying and it didn't help that the door was a little crumpled because they had hit the side of the alley with it before stopping. Oddly, it hadn't been enough to employ any sort of air bag. There was barely enough room for him to get out, but once the door was open he was out and climbing over the door. As soon as his feet hit the pavement he started to run after Susako, and assuming if the other two Celestials didn't get in his way he might just see where it was she ran to. But he could also see Korin out of the corner of his eye, standing up near the car on Hiram's side. He thought maybe his partner could handle her. Maybe.

Deirdre: ~Back Alley, Parson's Street, East District~
"Sazuko, wait!"
But, of course, after that outburst Sazuko certainly wasn't in the mood to wait. And although it was a shame, the bigger problem was accordingly that her partner had just been run over by a car.
Despite the fact that Hiram was unquestionably dangerous at that given moment, she lurched across the remaining alleyway. She tapped her ear and said under her breath, "Mizumi, one of your distractions would be a good idea right about now." Deirdre didn't want to say the words, but persisted: "Korin's been rammed by Hiram's car, and while I think she's okay..."
By that point, she'd reached the car. Time to have a heck of a lot of bark when she probably didn't have any bark left in her.
"Hiram, do you really want me to give this car another dent by sending it into oncoming traffic? Or do you really want people to wonder why a supposedly respectable policeman just attacked two women in broad daylight?" Her eyes darted momentarily towards the blonde girl, standing up and enraged. "Korin, are you...okay...don't do anything hasty..." Deirdre could still remember the last time she'd done something hasty, though Deirdre had to admit that she felt Korin was perfectly justified.
Hiram: ~Outside Alley, Parson's Street, East District~
He hadn't meant to directly hit the girl, but it had been hard to control the car when all he'd done was lean across his seat and give on mighty push on the steering wheel in the direction he so desired. Checking for his gun in his pocket, he got out of the car much quicker than Samuel and observed the girl, ignoring the loud beeps from justifiably angered other cars. Seconds later his partner left, chasing after the girl they'd been tailing.
Another man stood nearby (Duncan), watching the whole affair. Hiram found that suspicious, and even when an enraged Deirdre began to yell, he felt himself staring. Quickly, he slipped back into the current matter.
That girl Korin was looking dangerous. Under his breath, he growled: "Try anything, girl, and the whole of the AGSA will be tracking you."

((BARG! Gaia wouldn't let me get to the guilds yesterday! Sorry!!! And I'm assuming that Isis is very far away from Parson's street!))
Mizumi: ~Isis HQ~
As soon as Deirdre had said it was Hiram, Mizumi had begun powering up, forcing all of her power through the water mains, knowing that the two agents would be needing any help they could get.
When she heard that Korin had been hit by Hiram's car, anger boiled up inside her, as well as guilt, lending force to her power that she normally wouldn't have been capable of.
"Mizumi, one of your distractions would be a good idea right about now."
That was her cue.
A small bolt on a fire hydrant right next to the alley slowly began to loosen as water worked its way around, twisting and turning and pushing until the bolt was almost falling off. With one last tap, the bolt fell off, causing a massive explosion from the pressure inside the hydrant. Mizumi followed the current until she knew it had gone in the right direction. Luckily, it had.
As it raced towards the figures in the alley, Mizumi let go, floating along with her power. She hoped the distraction would give the two Isis agents enough time to get away safely. That was her last thought before she passed out from exhaustion.
Duncan: ~Right next to the fire hydrant~
Well, that had sucked. First, the subject had gotten away. Then the cute girl had gotten hit by the car. Luckily Duncan had been on the other side of the alley, so he hadn't gotten hurt. The girl had landed somewhat near him, but he really wasn't all that inclined to help her, considering how dangerous the situation could get for him.
And. Then. The FIRE HYDRANT HAD EXPLODED. Behind him. The force of the water had knocked him flat on his face, and he knew from the pounding that he was going to have a very large black eye tomorrow. He couldn't seem to get up, although the water was now flowing over him, and he was completely and utterly drenched. The roaring water had blocked otu any sound, and he wondered what the rest of the odd crowd were doing. He moved his arm up towards his face and gingerly checked for blood, but even that small motion wore him out. Knowing that the situation was pretty much hopeless, he gave up and passed out, hoping everyone would ignore him until he woke up.
((Go ahead... poke him... you know you wanna!))

Korin ~Parson's Ave. Back District~
She couldn't believe it. The assasin celestial had just took off. I KNEW THIS WAS STUPID! she was screaming in her head. She was so furious, she couldn't think straight. She saw Deirdre yell something at her. She wasn't sure what it was. She saw the b*****d that hit her get out of the car, his hand in his pocket, obviously preparing a gun. She heard his words--"Try anything, girl, and the whole of the AGSA will be tracking you." and her fury amplified. "You son of a-" she started. And then, a fire hyrdant exploded. She saw a man she had barely noticed before get knocked on his face. Deirdre and the b*****d turned to look at the strange spectacle. She became confused for a minute. How can something that menial happen in an advanced place like this!? The water splashed up against her feet and she searched it. Mizumi! She detected her aura immediately. She smiled and quickly realised her anger had lessened. She slowly began walking towards the man, the one Deirdre had called "Hiram." She stood five feet in front of him. She looked quickly over at Deirdre, who was luckily standing behind her. Korin stretched out her hand and smiled. "Drive home safe..." she said calmly. A brilliant light eminated from her hand and enveloped him. She grabbed Deirdre and started to run. "That'll...keep them sightless... for about... a day... but he still has a gun..." she gasped, already exhausted from the use of her power.

((I don't care about Hiram, but Penden's Samuel character had already taken down the street after Sazuko, so can we say he was unaffected? Also, can Hiram's sight be incapacited in an eventual sense, so that he can use his sight to do something ebwul, like recongize a marking on Duncan as FM and take him in for questioning? Then...Hiram will be sightless, we will be happy, and Samuel can interview Duncan. *hypothetical chain of events* 3nodding ))
Deirdre: ~Parson's Street, East District~
"Never mind the gun!" said Deirdre, grabbing her friend's hand. "Come on!"
She led Kurin down the street, anxious to get away from Hiram. A stroke of luck had stopped Korin from doing something she would probably regret later. Several times Deirdre tried to talk to Mizumi, but after quite a few moments of silence Deirdre hypothesized that the act that had saved them had been far too draining for her to remain conscious.
This had been a tiring way to begin the day. All Deirdre desired was to get back to HQ, have a hot shower, and eat some donuts. Oh damn, I forgot my bag of donuts back there.
As they ran away, her shoulder brushed strongly against Samuel's, not that she knew who he was. She turned for just an instant and murmured an apology, not realizing, in the chaos following Mizumi's act, that it was Hiram's partner.

Korin ~Algernon Boulevard, East District~
They were two blocks away when Korin realised that she had left her powerboard. "Oh crap!" she said, stopping. That thing was expensive! Even though it was bought by the HQ, it was still alot of money. She felt Deirdre still pulling on her hand, dragging her small frame along. She reached into her pocket with her free hand and grabbed the key to the board and pushed a small blue button. "It'll catch up." she said, starting to run again with a now-frustrated Deirdre. She heard the small vehicle coming towards her and she stopped once again and halted it with her foot. She jumped on and motioned to Deirdre to follow her. "Here, " she said, "It's alot better than running!"

Bloom_Wnd As they ran away, her shoulder brushed strongly against Samuel's, not that she knew who he was. She turned for just an instant and murmured an apology, not realizing, in the chaos following Mizumi's act, that it was Hiram's partner. Samuel's grey eyes locked unto hers as he paused in his chase. Sazuko was widening the distance between them because she knew the alleyways better and was less concerned with the people she might brush against on the way to her apartment. He felt like he could still catch her, but he also felt like these women were important too. "Quite alright," he assured her as he slowed down. But she was gone, so after a brief moment of watching her leave, he took off after Sazuko again. He thought he had seen her go around that corner there, and even if he had lost her that meant she lived or had stopped somewhere close by. He stopped running to examine the surroundings and try to guess which door she might have gone in, where she might be. He didn't see her: she was probably in one of the apartments. He felt fit, as if his whole body and mind were concentrated on finding her. Had that trash can been bumped aside in the last few minutes? Was that a bum he could question about her passing through? If she thought she was safe, there might not be any reason to rush in on her without being sure. He turned to the bum. "Excuse me, but did you see a [insert physical description here] girl run by?"

((My most sincere apologies for being absent this long without warning! I meant to post a little message stating I wouldn't be here this weekend, but time ran out. And then I got snowed in, and couldn't come down to a haven with Internet access for another day. sweatdrop Well, it was some nice lazy excitement, that's for sure, watching the snow fall down and watching Comedy Central for 6 straight hours. whee
Should I Rp the bum, or anyone else willing?))
Hiram: ~Parson's Street, East District~
Hiram knew he ought to have chased after the girls - who knew when he would get a chance like this again - but there was a sudden pain in his forehead and eyes that stopped him. The pain receded momentarily, and he straightened, but by this time, Deirdre and Korin had already bypassed Samuel and were out of sight. It was a defeat, but not one he wasn't used to facing. Merely another battle, he consoled himself, that holds little bearing on the actual war.
Besides, something else had caught his interest. Ignoring the loud honks and curses from nearby cars (understandably not happy by Hiram's stunt of reckloose 'driving') Hiram sidled up to the unconscious man on the sidewalk. The firehydrant water was finally dissipating somewhat, leaving behind this diamond in the rough.
Hiram's instincts were never wong. His eyes widened as he sighted the familiar FM signia subtly emblazoned on the lower corner of the man's jacket ((apologies ahead of time for the character control (deciding an attribute of another character's outfit) - and erm, more character control by arresting your character (if you don't like it, you can say so xd - posts can be edited))).
Hiram raised his head, but Samuel was out of sight. And he was getting too old for this. Gasping a little, he dragged the man into the black car, and after a moment of pause for some rest, handcuffed him. Now all he had to do was decide if it was worth it to wait for Samuel, or start up the car - still amazingly capable of running - and flesh out Samuel's location on the streets via his handy transport. But truthfully, a nap appeared to be in his best interest. The pain in his eyes was resurfacing.
Deirdre: ~Algernon Boulevard, East District - Isis HQ, North District~
"Right!" declared Deirdre, now not quite as peeved, seeing as they'd attained a vast degree of distance and it appeared nobody was following them. Her bed was looking more and more inviting with every passing moment.
8 minutes later...
Using the craft really was the smartest decision, for a trip that would have previously been almost a full half an hour was sufficiently cut down. Happily, she found herself walking the familiar halls of the only place she'd ever truthfully been able to call her home.
"Morning, Helen." greeted Deirdre with a wave. "Mizumi pop in recently?"
"Not since she was in earlier looking for you." murmured Helen, sipping her coffee.
When embroidered in paperwork like she was now (usually dealing with profiles for new members) Helen was not easily provoked out of her business-like stupor. So Deirdre just sighed and turned towards Korin.
"Mizumi's a goddess, but I don't think she could have pulled off that hydrant stunt without feeling it. I'm thinking we should definitely check in on her. Anyway, we have to discuss where to go with the Sazuko case."

((If no one has any objections I'll take the bum and introduce Luca while at it.
Oh...and greetings everyone))
Luca: ~Parson's Avenue. Back Alley~
Front row seats. Celestials and humans battling it out on some forgotten back alley somewhere in the city. He considered himself lucky. Even though he cared not for the fate of Celestials (regardless of being one himself), he always enjoyed the special effects budget these shows were fond of displaying. He sat down and analyzed the situation.
...so...what have we here?...
Blond girl. Not much of a low-profile person too..."SEE! THIS IS WHAT YOU GET FOR DOING WHAT YOU GUYS DO! TRYING TO HELP EACH OTHER! THEN THEY TELL EVERYONE WHO YOU ARE! YOU CAN'T TRUST ANYONE! ANYONE!!!!!!!"...well if you're trying to keep a low profile you wouldn't go screaming at the top of your lungs that you just met a SpecOps agent for an institution that...doesn't exist in the mind of the people...I'm guessing at the SpecOps thing, cause, hell, no one ever helps anyone else in this city anymore...activists, meh. Angsty though...I like that.
White haired girl. Show off...ish. I can't hear what she's saying but she decidedly put a dent in that trash can over there...I could've stopped her...I could've fixed the dent too. Not worth it.
That kid in the skateboard...Celestial also. Did my invitation to this broohaha get lost in the mail? Oh...right...I don't get mail. That was pretty cool though. Getting piledrived against the wall and stand up immediately after. Maybe she's made of metal? And if so, maybe I could mold her bonesa bit...hehehehe....Nah...she's a beautiful creature. You wretched being, Luca, you let her be. Was she the one who popped the hydrant? Surely you won't expect me to believe it was a spontaneous occurance which just happened to go off while a rather noisy encounter between Celestials and humans...and more celestials was going on. I suppose I could have saved her too...crash the car against an invisible wall...course that would have probably fixed the Suits' eyes on her.
I could've gotten involved...but I won't...screw them...
So what was I doing? Oh right...food...I better walk away lest these creatures notice me...
"Excuse me, but did you see a [insert physical description here] girl run by?"
Oh the hit and run guy...see who go where now?
"Please, sire, can you spare a few coins for a man down on his luck?"
Yeah...didn't think so...

((Sorry for the absense! And I don't mind Duncan being arrested. It all adds to the story, and gives him a chance to show off his acting skills. smile ))
Mizumi: ~Isis HQ, her office~
Mizumi slowly opened her eyes. She blinked a few times until the fuzzyness receded.
"I think I misjudged the distance on that one..." she said blearily. She realized that she was lying on the floor behind her desk. Checking for injuries, she found that she had been lucky and not hit her head on any sharp corners.
She eased herself into a sitting position, but decided to wait a bit on the whole getting up thing. Her recovery times were usually incredibly fast, so she knew that if she waited a couple minutes, she'd feel much better. And food would be nice, too.
Duncan: ~Back seat of Hiram's car~
His head was pounding. He didn't even try to open his eyes, knowing that any amount of light at this point would have him screaming in pain.
Slowly the blackness in his mind receded, and he began to question what had happened. He remembered feeling wet, then pain. He was still wet, and in pain, but he felt like he was laying on something much more comfortable than concrete.
He tried to use his hands to check his face for damage, and realized that he couldn't move them. Both arms were tied behind his back. No, not tied, handcuffed. Sudden panic set in. He held most of it back, but his control was slipping. He forced his eyes open, clenching his teeth and hissing softly, trying not to make too much noise. If his captor didn't already know he was awake, then it would be best not to notify them.
When he could see somewhat clearly, he recognized his surroundings. He was in the back of a police car.
Duncan closed his eyes, annoyed at his own foolishness. He wasn't naive enough to hope that some random police officer had picked him up for questioning. He knew that those damn agents had probably seen the FM sign on his coat, and now he was 'captured'.
He tried to kick his legs hard enough to break open the door, but the slight movement caused his entire body to cramp up.
He was going to kill whomever was responsible for that water.

Korin stretched out her back and wriggled around a bit. She was still a little stunned from the previous scene. She watched Deirdre talk to Helene, and then turn to her to speak. Korin agreed. "Mizumi shouldn't have used her powers like that!" she said, sadly. "Well, lead the way. Let' see what we can do, hm?"

"A blonde girl, she may live close by. Do you always hang out here? If you saw her go by, and you help me, I could get you a meal. Maybe I could even get you a job interview, depending on where you're willing to work."
Okay. This guy needs to step away...what determination...that chick must be really important...
For I moment there I thought of flipping him off, turning around and running away. However, it so happened that the blonde girl had just entered my ver own Apartment Building. Surely I must have seen her there before. I have to stop being so oblivious with the people that sorround my immediate environment. It could get me in trouble.
Also, I have no need for Suits to be snooping around my apartment or anywhere near it...
But hey I must admit this cop show is intriguing.
Now. He wants to give me a meal. I was looking for a meal. Or so he thinks. They were gonna get to the girl anyways, wether I helped them or not. Suits are efficient like that. Also, I had to keep the bum facade.
I was growing rather hungry too...
So, I regained a bit of composture.
"You a cop or something? Lishen, I wants no problems with you people. Girl you looking for? Climbed the stairs of the Rennard Apartment Complex ova there. Looked like she was in a hurry too."
I made a pause
"Just...just give me the money and I'll go get myself something to eat...and a shower! You guys love showers! No need for a job. No one here's looking for responsibilities. Honest!"
He looked like an uptown man anyways. He wouldn't notice the Streetsmart accent I was trying to pull was a little off...ish...
You've sparked my interest buddy...I'm gonna find out about that girl as soon as you clear out from the bulding...
