Vinny found himself back in the air, a couple of inches off the ground. He wasn't flapping his headwings--he was just..well, floating. "I don't think this is real flying." He said, with a small frown. "Does it still count?" He asked, with a tilt of his head.
The floating stopped, and Vinny's feet touched the ground. "That was... different." The older boy said, looking confused for a moment.

"How did you do that? Your wings no flap," Cody commented, amazed that his friend could do that. The toddler could only think of one reason he would be able to do that, and that was magic. It made sense, since they were half demon and half angel and both races were magical.
"And I s'pose so, more like hovering or floating," he added, still amazed at the feat he figured he had no chance at accomplishing. Oh well, perhaps it was because he had small wings and had to make up for them somehow in order to fly. "Still cool though," Cody said, grinning.

"I don't know how--I just tried to fly like you." Vinny said with a shrug. He genuinely sounded confused. "I know my angel dad can float like that--he did when I visited him. I asked him how, and he didn't know. Maybe it's just something people do without knowing how to. Like breathing."
"Yeah--it's cool." Vinny had to admit that much, anyway. "I'm not--but floating is."

"Nu-uh. Both cool," Cody replied, grinning excitedly. Being able to float was super cool and the fact that Vinny could do it was even more cool. No, not cool, absolutely amazing and so cool that Cody couldn't think of a better word to describe it.
"And angel dad can float too? Awesome," he added, wondering if he could ever learn to do that. Yet, it seemed more like a Humility virtue thing than something for someone of greed and patience. He then wondered what HIS angel parent could do and if it was anywhere near as cool as floating.

Vinny felt awkward with all the compliments. "Thank you." He managed to say with a nod. "Flying's cooler, though. I wish I could do that instead of just floating." Truthfully, though, even if Vinny wouldn't admit it, he was happy with floating.
"Yeah, he did." Vinny said with a nod and a smile. "But he didn't think it was very cool that he could--" He paused. "I think I'm like him when it comes to that."

Cody shrugged. "Nu-uh. Many can fly. Not many can float. Floating waaay cooler; not many can do that," he replied, slowly growing bored and wondering what they could do as a game.
"Maybe. Hum... humil... humility dad, right?" he asked out of curiosity. He was pretty confident he was, but you could never tell.

Vinny shook his head. "I still think flying's cooler." He said. "More people can fly because it's cooler." He added, with a wise nod. Well, as wisely as a child his age could.
"Right!" Vinny said with a smile, wondering how Cody could have possibly guessed. "Hey, you want to play a game or something? It's boring just talking--no offense."

Cody nodded excitedly, glad the older spawn had suggested it first. "It ok, was about to say the same thing. What kind of game?" he asked, figuring getting Vinny to agree with him that floating was one of the coolest things in the world to be next to impossible.
"Can play Hide-n-seek or tag or somethin' else," he suggested, rattling off what came to his young mind first as to what they could to together as a form of entertainment instead of sitting around and arguing about what was cooler; flying or floating.

"I like hide-n-seek." Vinny said with a smile. He remembered playing hide-n-seek with his friend, Aludra. He'd learned a new way to hide. "I bet you're good at it. You want to hide or count first?" He asked. He had no doubt in his mind that Cody couldn't beat him.
Knowing he'd lose, or thinking that he'd lose, didn't keep him from being eager to play. "Maybe we can play tag too--if we have time." He suggested.

"Either is fine. Sure, tag later sounds fun. Which you want to do? Count or hide?" Cody asked, thinking counting first would give him a good chance to explore the area a bit and scope out a good hiding spot. Then again, hiding first would give him a good idea of how Vinny went about and searched for him. Choices, choices, choices...

"I'll count first then." Vinny said, with a nod. "You go hide. I'll count to ten." He covered his eyes with his clawed hands, but not before shutting them tightly so the younger boy would be assured that he wasn't peeking.
"One. Two.. Three... Four. Five.." He started, counting slowly to give the other boy a chance to hide. He was used to playing this game.

Cody giggled softly and instantly began to search for a decent hiding spot. Somewhere hard to see and find... Spotting it, the toddler rushed as silently as he could over to it. Why hadn't he seen it before? The little niche within the massive rows of branches that belonged to the pine tree was perfect. He would be hidden away and out of sight. Not only that, but it would be rather impossible to see where he had went.
Once he had gotten under the branches and settled on top of a branch so Vinny couldn't see his feet, the toddler prepared himself for the wait that was sure to follow. He wouldn't mind, being part patience. And if he won that would make the wait worthwhile, since Cody would be able to say that he managed to win a game against someone far older than him.

"Six.. Seven.. Eight.. Nine... Ten!" Vinny finished his count. "Ready or not, here I come!" He started his search. If he hadn't been a child of humility, he would have always found himself to be quite good at this game--generally speaking, he usually beat his older brother. Vincent didn't like to talk about that. Beating anyone made him feel bad.
He looked into the branches of trees, behind the tree, to make sure the toddler wasn't using the same tatic Aludra had when they'd first met. He looked by the swings--no Cody.

Cody grinned as he heard Vinny finish counting and search in and around the nearby trees. He couldn't hear what happened after that, though, since it seemed the older child wandered father off. Although he was excited that his hiding spot was working rather well, he managed to keep himself from moving or making any sound at all, outside of breathing of course. It wasn't like he was going to stop breathing in order to win a simple game of hide and seek. Besides, it wasn't like that did much anyways to give away his position, if at all.

Vinny wasn't a patience child. Soon after looking in every place he thought possible, he became bored with the game. Where was Cody? Had his mother come to pick him up? And then Vinny thought about it. Maybe he had forgotten to look somewhere. He was modest enough to decide that was the case.
There was no possible way that he'd looked everywhere, right? So he started his round again. Through the trees, under the slide, in the bush..
