love...connection...it's hard to argue with those good thoughts, they mean a lot to me too.

but i mostly just try to go by Micah 6:8 "He has showed you, O man, what is good. And what does the Lord require of you? To act justly, and to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God."

xd Sorry, I couldn't resist.
Personally, I belive there is no exact, simple answer to that question, as in most cases. You must decide it for yourself.

Those books are awesome.

Anyway, I live for the person I love.

somebody already beet me to the draw on 42 so.....

The meaning of life, for me, is what you make of it. If you think life is to be doaur and sorrowful, be my guest. Same goes for the eternaly happy as well. But as long as you don't try to force anything on my version of life, I don't care.

I don't think life really has a meaning. Life is what you making of it, with no one specific meaning.

Yes, in a sense, I suppose. Haven't done enough readnig existentialism to find out all the details, but I think my view is similar frmo what I heard.

It's not fully existentialistic; the biggest points in existentialism are:
1. The existence of god doesn't matter (though, most are atheist)
2. Your actions are completely made of your own freewill; there is nothing stopping you from doing anything.
3. You are completely responsible for your actions, and what you choose to do.

Other than that, you got their meaning of life pretty close.

happiness. i think the people that say love would more accurately mean happiness. maybe not though, but i'm guessing love is something that makes the all happy. the point of life is to be happy. the way to have the most people be happy to to be ethical. that's what i think in a very cramped nut-shell.

No no no. It's not 42. That's the answer to the Ultimate Question of the Universe. And the Ultimate Question of the Universe is "What is 6 times 9?" So you see, are multiplication tables are wrong xd Unless the question changes between book 3 and 5. I'm only on book 3. Back on topic...
To me, life means living. Not just breathing and going about doing what you're "supposed" to do. But doing what you WANT to do. What makes you happy, what makes you feel sexy/loved (depending on which you want), what makes you feel like you've lived a good life and are proud of it. Cuz honestly, what's the point in being alive if you're gonna waste it doing nothing? To quote the book again: "Life is wasted on the living." I say my meaning is to live the best way I can! Whether that's your purpose for living or not, who knows? *shrugs*

You know when you're sitting and have nothing to do, you start taping you're fingers. This is not specific at all, but I simply know the meaning of life is to do. What you do is your decision, but it is almost impossible for someone to do nothing at all.

i don't know, i think everyone strives to be happy in their own way. i can't prove it especially because of creatures that i can not communicate with, but that's my thought.

in their own way is key there. what makes me happy might make someone else very uncomfortable.
