Elune shuddered at the thought of the sins of the Kirkani. She had always wondered what drove some to commit such an act of betrayal even once, let alone time and time again. She almost hoped that would be one thing in this life she would never understand.
Her brother's blunt question then made her smile; he had been very straight forward from birth, and though it wasn't always the perfect approach to things it was the best way to search for an answer. She couldn't remember Clifton ever failing to receive a response.
"No, dear brother, I'm afraid I haven't found a mate just yet. I have not been looking either per say...I am rather shy when it comes to these things you see." The words hadn't been quite right, and yet expressed what was in her heart. "I wish more than anything that when I do find the Stallion I am destined to love that we will be eternal lifemates. I know he will be special, and it's simply something I cannot rush. She hoped her family would understand her reasoning.
Elune wondered then if she should tell them about a very interesting stallion she saw roaming among the trees one day; he hadn't seen her, for he was rather preoccupied entertaining his own thoughts, and she was too shy to make her presence known. He seemed to stick out in her mind more so than other Stallions she'd observed, for he seemed so different; he appeared very inquisitive, and deeply connected to nature, for his very skin teemed with life. Bracket fungi climbed his hind quarters, and moss grew here and there on his bark textured flesh; his mane and tail were gentle and whispy, like the branches of a great willow tree. Elune certainly hoped she would see him again.
Her mother's wonderful news broke Elune's thoughts, and she stepped forward, offering a congratulatory nuzzle to her mother; she [her mother] was truly happiest with little ones around her, to whom she could share her wisdom. The idea of more foals to please her mother, let alone more siblings for herself, made Elune's heart soar.
"I wish you the warmest blessings of Aerithe mother, for many healthy young," she said with a glowing smile. "And to you father, I pray that though your defenses are apt and ready, your protection remains unnecessary." Elune was full of glee then, thinking back to when she and her siblings were foals; fuzzy tails and down feathers, short little legs, and eager eyes. Her mother would certainly be in bliss once more, and Elune couldn't be happier for her.

Elune held his attention for a moment longer, just so he could reply to her, but his mother's news caught him well off guard.
"A kirin of our stature should not feel shyness. We should be proud and hold our heads high, but I will not push anything on you dear sister. I wish you the best in finding the perfect mate."
And he turned his attention to his mother. "Congratulations mother. How soon should we expect the little ones to arrive?" He nodded to his father who was standing nearby, offering his congratulations to him as well.
"I hope one day soon to also have such news to offer you, dear parents. I still search for her, but soon, I shall find her." He nodded with definity, hoping that in fact what he said would be true.

Aoibheann smiled at Elune and Clifton. "Thank you both. They should arrive by the end of summer." She hid her smile at Elune and Clifton's discussion of Elune finding a mate. "Love shouldn't be rushed, Elune, dear, and we all wish you the very best in finding a mate of your very own." She nuzzled her green daughter. "I have absolute faith in you. Love like that which is between your father and I is a very special thing, something to treasure and to take your time in finding. Be patient, keep looking, and I will always wish you the greatest happiness."
