Misa jumped slightly, taken back from his desperation. "Well... I know she visited you frequently... and... she meant a lot to you. I kind of remember something about a present for her, but that's it..." Misa looked down, biting her lip to try to aid her friend. ]"I really don't know Ben, it's been a while and I took a trip down to the city when you guys really got serious."

"Maybe we can do something to jog one of our memories! If she was here, you guys would have had to do something that was significant in Fallen Leaves, right?" Misa tried, hoping she was of some help. "Or just think of stuff, like where you would go if you loved someone, arg." She flipped over a passing by hermit crab with her toe, so it struggled on it's backside to flip over and walk, just as she was struggling to find her memory.

Ben groaned in frustration as he tried his hardest to remember something. His eyes shut tightly, he blocked out the world at this point. All he could hear was his recollections of conversations with Mint.

...
"Ben, you can't keep taking these chances for me...."
...
"I love you, and I always will...."
...
"You are the most amazing guy I have ever met...."
...
"I'm sorry I couldn't keep my promise of never leaving you...."

Ben sighed as he came back to reality, "It is really over," he said sadly, "I still can't remember much, but I know there is nothing that I can do to change the fact that she is gone."

He stood up and walked over to the far side of the beach, pretty far away from Misa, Czar, and Zaylin. His hands slid into the pockets of his pants as he stared out to the sea.

"Good-bye Mint...." he said, a single tear fell from his left eye.

Misa stared at Ben in his isolation, and felt slightly responsible for making him feel so upset. She looked at Zaylin and Czarina, and murmured, "I hope he doesn't mind a little bit of company."

She walked over to Ben cautiously, unsure if this was the right approach. She stopped a few feet behind him, and whispered his name. "...Ben?" She kneeled behind him and put a hand on his shoulder. "I'm sorry."

She crawled up beside him, and looked out to the ocean with him. "They say time heals all wounds," she said aloud, unsure if she was talking to Ben or herself.

Ben sighed and wiped the tear away with his thumb. "Time heals all wounds, eh?" he repeated, sort of asking himself. "Maybe it's better this way...Since I have barely any remembrance of her, there isn't alot to be attached to, so it shouldn't hurt as much."

Ben shifted his attention to the sky, a single cloud kept his attention. "Maybe she is looking at the same cloud, at this very moment." he said trying to find some sort of connection to Mint. In his mind he re-read that thought, enough that he truly started to believe that she was "She seems so close," Ben stretched his arm out and grabbed at the cloud, "One last good-bye......" his hand closed, then tightened, "I hope you find happiness where ever you are right now, and the memories I still have with you will linger in my mind forever. You were my first love, and you always will be, but I need to move on and let go. Good-Bye Mint....."

His mouth released a sigh of relief, as if a big weight had been lifted off of him, "I'm just afraid I won't find anybody else who will love me like she did...."

.......The beach. Such a pleasant place to be on hot, sunny days. That salty, ocean scent pervading the air, where the breeze is best, and where the sun is most powerful. TK walked down the shore, feeling the sand filling the gaps between his toes. The soothing sounds of the waves crashing on the sand brought chills to run up his back. He found a nice place to sit down in the sand. Sitting down, he opened his notebook and dipped his quill in the bottle of ink. He began writing.

--"It's been three months since I have seen dad now. Living in this town has been hell for me. Nothing good ever happens. I haven't made a single new friend yet. Yesterday, I spent my entire morning with Robert, the gardener. The rest of the day was spent in the library. I've been reading this one book, Artamène, and it is very hard to understand. But at least it takes me away from reality for a while."

.......TK stopped writing and looked up. The waves were lightly crashing, and the never ending ocean was spread in front of him like a big, blue blanket. The boy sighed and dipped the quill in the ink. He looked back down at the journal and began writing again.

--"I have decided to run away from Fallen Leaves and go somewhere else. I am not satisfied with my life and I will not stay in this village anymore. I will probably run away tonight or tomorrow night."

.......His quill stopped moving as he heard voices in the distant. TK looked to his side and saw a small group of people. He gasped and began to pick up all of his supplies in a hurry. The boy did not want the others to see him, which was why he was rushing himself.

"By the time you do remember, I hope it's when you're ready," Misa said, tracing circles in the sand. She looked up at him.

"Ben, I'm sure you'll find love like that again. You're a really likable person, I'm sure you're going to find someone," Misa said with a confident nod. "You're funny, genuine, intelligent, and above everything, you're capable of loving, and that's what matters most," she said with a grin. "Don't worry about it so much. You're making friends by the day, I think you'll find love again."

She stood up and held out her hand to help him get up. "Ben, I know you can get through this. You're an amazing person," she said confidently, with a determined look on her face, being determined that she was right. "The first step to this has to turning away from that cloud, and moving forward."

Kyra stopped and turned at the sign, which directed her to the beach. "It's surprisingly difficult to get lost here," she noted, considering the abundance of directional signage she had seen.

She continued her walk, thinking about her frightening dream about the dog, Jieun, and Justin, when she approached the beach. The day was beaming, and the sky was clear as day; the weather seemed more pronounced at the beach. The cyan waves roared and seemed to claw at the sand, constantly pulling it back into the ocean. She was never much for the ocean. Sandy toes, tide pools, chasing birds like maniacs; she was game, but the ocean seemed large and consuming like a monster.

Keeping her distance from the incoming tide, she searched for a familiar face, which is just what she found. Family resemblance was etched into the young boy's face, seemingly rushing on his way out. "Ah, he did mention a brother."

"Hey! You!" She waved, though didn't know what to call him, so decided to address him by the only thing she might know about him. "Don't you have a brother?"

Czarina shifted her feet around a little awkwardly as Misa and Ben were left off to the side to have a talk about love. Silence filled the air as she and Zaylin sat next to each other, both thinking deeply. Or at least, that's what Czarina thought.

"Why'd you drag me here...?" Zaylin asked, his voice coated with some coldness. Czarina's eye twitched slightly, she hadn't heard him be angry with her for quite some time.

"Because I wanted to have fun. And you seem to be making friends easier lately." She said, sighing. She thought about that boy with Zaylin yesterday, Matt. She felt a little jealousy, knowing that Zaylin would probably shift some attention and dependence from her to him. She sat up, her hands a little behind her, and she looked up at the sky. Beside her, Zaylin's hands balled up into fists. He clearly wasn't pleased.

"Is that it? I've only managed to make one friend so far, and that was because he has the same interests as me. Also, he doesn't think I have a contact mixup. He knows." At this, Czarina snapped her head to look at Zaylin for the first time since they ran into Misa. Her brow narrowed, and her voice was almost threatening.

"How...how does he know? He better not be judging..." She said, leaning in to talk in hushed tones. Zaylin scoffed.

"Because I told him, obviously." He flicked some sand off of his shirt. "And no, he doesn't judge. You do, apparently. You just judged him of being like one of those people without even knowing him. Hypocrite." The lovely day at the beach was over. Suddenly, the once comfortable atmosphere had changed to be tense and slightly dark. Czarina glared.

"You can't ever be too sure. He could turn his back on you whenever he pleases, you know. You're too trusting of some people. You can only depend on me right now. We're the only ones that matter, we're the only ones who we can really trust, and Kari..." She said, trailing off near the end. Kari had been their older sister, and she loved them as much as they loved her, regardless of whether they were related by blood or not. But she hadn't talked to them in a while, they didn't even know where she was.

"Yeah, I can trust you alright," Zaylin commented, raising his voice. The sarcasm was heavy, and stung Czarina a bit. "You say I can trust you, yet you put me in the most uncomfortable of situations. Everything's decided by you, you never let me do what I want." Czarina was getting shocked.

"I'm only doing what's best for you." She said, her voice raising as well. Zaylin scoffed again. He rarely got this upset, and rarely ever acted this way.

"So what's best for me is to come unwillingly to a beach where the people here think I'm stupid and can't put in contacts properly? Huh?" He stood up, his eyes widening as he got more angry. He took deeper breaths--feeling so much intense emotion was foreign to him, and now he was feeling the effects.

Czarina stood up as well. "Shut up, they'll hear you!" She said in a mildly hushed tone. She stood close to his face in an attempt to show some dominance. Zaylin didn't back down.

"No." He said loudly in her face. He looked like he was about to say more, but decided against it. He turned on his heel, face red, and walked away. Czarina simply stood there, shocked. She scoffed in utter disbelief. Sure, Zaylin would get ticked off with her every once in a while, but never before did he defy her and question her dominance.

She looked down at her hands. No, never did she question her dominance. She stood there, unsure of what to do now. She looked back at Ben and Misa, she was positive that they had to have heard everything.

Czarina didn't know what to do. She slunk away, face red with embarrassment. Normally she'd go after Zaylin, but she was definitely in no mood to do so. Stubborn, she left, unsure of where she was heading off to.

Zaylin also headed off in a random direction. His mind was so full of overwhelming emotions that he felt he could literally explode any minute. He shook his head, and slowly lifted his hand to feel his face. It was a little hot, and he knew without seeing it that it must have been red. He walked down a pathway, hoping he'd be able to find somewhere else to stay for the night. He didn't want to meet up with Czarina again after that.
