Fern sighed softly as she sat by the window, wondering when Saberlin would arrive. She knew he was probably busy, but hoped that it would be soon. They hadn't gotten to spend a lot of time together, and after the twins came they would have even less time. She frowned and folded her arms on the windowsill, laying her head on top of them.

Pulling neatly into the luxury inn's guest parking lot, he brought the sleek black car to a halt and switched off the ignition, stepping elegantly out of the driver's side before locking the vehicle. Saberlin ran a hand distractedly through platinum gold locks, sweeping stray strands out of his eyes as he walked casually up to the main reception.
He felt guilty that Fern had had to wait an extra hour and a half for him to arrive and let out another soft sigh, long leopard tail swishing in agitation. The building's automatic doors whooshed silently open before him as he entered the lobby, looking around for his wife.
((Edit: Sorry, I meant 'leopard' not 'jaguar' tail! ^///^))

Fern smiled as she saw the sleek black car pull into the parking lot for the window. She hurried down the stairs, arriving in the lobby just as Saberlin walked through the doors. She went over and hugged him tightly, smiling.

He was taken by surprise as she caught him up in a hug, seemingly from out of nowhere.
Saberlin’s pale gold eyes glowed warmly as he returned it, chuckling a little. “I apologise for being this late. Thank you for waiting for me, my beautiful flower” Gently tilting her chin up, he placed a light kiss on Fern’s cheek. “There was an unexpected delay but I finally managed to leave work behind. I promise, from here on in it shall be just you and I. No more interruptions” Although he looked slightly pale and there were dark smudges under his eyes, Saberlin was smiling happily, evidently joyful to see her.

Fern smiled, and laid her head against his chest. "I'm glad. You've been working so hard lately." She looked up at him. "You look so tired and pale." She reached up and laid her hand on his cheek. "You must have been working really hard on things."

He just continued to smile, though it faded slightly as a renewed wave of guilt washed over him at her mention of the work hours he’d been putting in. He was hoping she hadn’t noticed the effects. The last thing he wanted was to cause his beloved more concern. “Oh…does it really seem so? Well, it is nothing to worry about I assure you, my flower. I’m certain a good night’s rest is all that is needed” Saberlin’s leopard ears twitched as a faint blush tinged his skin. He decided to switch the subject. “More importantly, how are you feeling? Is everything going alright?” he asked with genuine concern, wondering if there was anything he could do for her.

She nodded a little, a good nights sleep would do the trick. She smiled a little. "I'm feeling fine. The twins are doing great. They've started to move around quite a bit." Her smile widened.

Michi sat in the passenger seat of the car as her husband Jack drove down the curving coastal highway. She smiled, it had been so long since they took thier last vacation. In fact, their last vacation was thier honeymoon. It had been too long. An with their child coming in four short months, they would need all the rest they could get. Parenthood would be a long road, just like the one they were driving on, but she knew they would make it through together.

“That’s wonderful. I’m glad to hear it” Saberlin seemed to glow with pride when she said that, delighted that they were all doing well. He was proud of his wife and would do anything to keep her and their children healthy and happy, even to the extreme.
A sudden loud growling noise from the vicinity of his stomach interrupted him as he was about to place another light kiss, this time on her lips and Saberlin pulled away, blushing a shade of bright red. He tried to remember when last he had eaten and came up with a vague image of grilled fish sometime around yesterday morning. “Uh…are you feeling at all hungry? Perhaps we should find something to eat” he suggested, looking somewhat sheepish.

Fern giggled slightly, smiling. She was a bit hungry herself. "Food sounds like a good idea." She knew how Saberlin could get so wrapped up in his work. She worried about him often, as he would seem to tune out the world and focus on what he was working on. "Come on, lets get you something to eat."

“Alright, I think the restaurant is this way” he nodded, politely offering his arm to lead the way there. He had looked up their accommodation well in advance before they had booked it, being the organised soul that he was.
Wandering down a large, well-lit hallway towards the inn’s dining area, past bookcases and polished vases containing sumptuous flowers, he struggled to stifle a yawn, blinking back hot tears which prickled at the corners of his eyes. Saberlin resisted the urge to rub them, knowing that would only make it worse. He settled instead for loosening the tie around his neck. “Is there anything in particular that you feel like eating? I read that the grilled prawns and the tropical fruit salad are both exceptionally good” He smiled at Fern, ready to order anything she asked for.

Fern smiled, taking Saberlin's arm as they went to the restaurant. She though for a bit when he asked what she wanted. It all sounded delicious. "Hmmmm....Pancakes...I have a craving for Pancakes." She smiled a little.

“Then pancakes it shall be, with whatever toppings you desire” He agreed with a hint of amusement, finding them a table to occupy. Saberlin pulled out a chair for Fern first, assisting her into her seat and making sure she was as comfortably settled as a woman five months into her pregnancy could be before taking a place for himself.
Picking up one of the menus, he spread it open before him, curled his leopard tail out of the way of any passers by, and began to peruse the lists of available food; caught between ordering the inn’s famous grilled prawns or their lemon baked sweet fish. It was a tough decision to make when your brain felt sluggish as cold syrup.

She smiled. "Yum. Pancakes with strawberries." She smiled again as he helped her into her chair and thanked him. She watched him as he scaned the menu, trying to decide on what to eat. She smiled again. It seemed like such a long time since they'd spent time together.
