"Uh-huh," she replied with a grin as though it was good thing and not a bad thing. Not that it was actually a bad thing, not now anyway."Taw-too." She mumbled looking at her own on her paw, the one with the leaf. She wasn't quite sure as to what it meant exactly, though it occured to her that a leaf could've possibly fallen on her not too long after she was born and had become a part of her as seen in the tattoo. "Story." She mumbled falling to her stomach and snuggling up against Eeva. "Choo-choo bug story..." She was sleepy, what were they waiting for again?

Watching as Masumi cuddled against her, she sighed happily, feeling as if the world had suddenly grown even more special, even more complete.
"Don't worry, Masumi. Rest your eyes for a little bit." And just as the words were out of her mouth she spotted it and she gave her sleepy sister a nudge.
"Look, look you two. Over there! Do you see it? The creature with those pretty wings!" She pointed a paw at it as it came fluttering down, delicately landing on one of the flowers. It's wings flapped slowly open and closed. Brilliants reds and blues. Paper thing and so delicate they hardly looked like they should be able to fly at all.
"Isn't it pretty?"
Laka bounced up onto her paws and turned to see what her sister was pointing at. There she saw the butterfly for the first time. Beautiful and delicate, flitting from flower to flower.
"Pweety!" She called, her voice filled with wonder. "Lookie, lookie, Su-mee! Pweety Fower!"

Masumi was close to falling asleep, in face she was practically asleep as Eeva nudged her trying to wake her. She groaned and shook her head. "Sweepy." She mumbled curling up into herself as she was called to. Letting out a yawn she opened her blue eyes and saw the butterfly in a blurry image. Startled she jerked back before blinking a few times. "Whut is it sissy?" She asked inching forward trying to get closer to see the paperthin creature better.

She smiled and laughed. "Not a flower, Laka." She replied. "That's what I thought at first, too. But it isn't." She glanced to Masumi, her sleepy sister and nodded. "It's a butterfly. An insect. See, it collects pollen and nectar from the flowers. See the kind of yellow coloured dust? The stuff that made you sneeze? I'm not sure why it does it. Maybe it likes to eat it."
She stayed where she was, lying on the grass, watching the little ones.
"Be careful of it, though. It's harmless but it can be crushed by eager paws very easily."
"Baa-fly!" Laka mimicked, drawing closer, so close that her nose was almost touching the insect. And then itr flapped its wings and moved to another flower and she followed it, captivated.
As she was watching another came to join its friend, floating on the breeze as if it were a flower falling gently through the sky.
"Another!!" She squeaked. "Baa-fly! Baa-fly!" And then she was dancing around in circles, squealing with merriment.

"Baa-fly?" Masumi mimicked tilting her head as she inched ever so much close to the colorful insect. "Why do that?" She asked looking up at her older sister, eyes wide and full of wonder. She didn't understand why it would eat stuff that made other creatures sneeze. It seemed so silly to her young mind. "Taste good?" She wondered stopping before a flower and staring at it. She was staring so intently it was a wonder the flower didn't shrink back in embarrassment. Then she promptly opened her mouth and....nom! She took a big bite of the flower, chewing almost thoughtfully before her brows knitted together in confusion, then disgust. "Ewwwwwwwww!"

She smiled and then, as Masumi took it upon herself to see if the butterfly's food was any good, she couldn't help it. She laughed. She laughed until tears beaded her eyes. What sweet innocence these children were.
"Oh, 'Sumi, lions don't eat butterfly food." She stood, stretched her lean body and moved towards the dancing Laka.
"Come now, we best get you two home. I think that's enough excitement for one day, don't you?"
"Nah-uh." Laka replied, pausing for breath. The dancing had certainly taken its toll on her and she'd stopped now, her head slightly drooped.
"Don't wanna gooo." She whined, but even as she said it a yawn broke through, making her poor attempt at staying out longer rather futile.

Masumi found herself pressed against the grasses, paws flailing at her tongue desperately trying to free herself from the butterfly's food. But it smelled so pretty! Why did it taste so bad? It wasn't really something her young mind could understand yet, and besides she was too distracted to think about it any. "Ewwwww!" She moaned shaking her head as she rolled onto her back, tongue in and out of her mouth.
At her sister's words however she instantly stopped and rolled back over onto her feet. "Whut?" She asked, big eyes full of sadness. "Masi hasn't played with baa-fly!"

"Now, now." Eeva chided. "The butterflies will always be here for you to play with. Wouldn't you rather go and see if Mummy or Daddy are back yet?" She teased, giving them both an encouraging nod.
"Besides, I can always come back tomorrow and play some more. I'm never too far away to come and see my bestest sisters."
She purred, eyes sparkling
Laka didn't look convinced. She scrunched up her little nose and gave a small sigh. "You promise, Eevie?" Her eyes turned to glance her sister out of the corner of her eyes and she made a mental note never to eat butterfly food.

"Mumma! Papa!" Masumi chirped happily at the mention of her parents. Then she frowned, ears pressed against her skull. "Prowmise?" She asked walking over to Eeva and pressing her side into her sisters. "Cause your best to play sissy," she mumbled saddened by the thought that she might not see her sister for a little while. To her a day was practically a lifetime! "Prowmise."

"Of course I promise." Eeva replied, lowering herself so she was more able to wrap a forepaw around the both of them. "Nothing could keep me from seeing you two. Us girls have to stick together, especially since we're so outnumbered!"
She stood, gave them both a smile and then turned towards the den. "Come on then, let's be off!" And slowly she moved back towards the den.
This babysitting business wasn't that hard after all!
Nodding slowly, Laka moved slowly after Eeva, stepping carefully so as not to trip. The den was only a few paces away but for her it seemed a great distance.
"We'll come see the baa-flyies again." She murmered.

Masumi giggled looking up at Eeva with a big smile. "Yaaaaay!" She chimed happily following her before glancing back at her sister. "Lala! Let's go!" She called bouncing a bit as she waited for her to catch up before she darted to the den suddenly full of energy. She couldn't wait for the next time, maybe then she'd actually get to play. Ooooh she just couldn't wait!
