It all happened so fast! It wasn't the just eel that horrified her. Melisande's eyes went wide, the same clear blue as the water. Sevvie...was so brave! His fearless act made her gasp, little bubbles scurrying and climbing for the surface. Oh, and it looked like it hurt!
"Yes, somewhere else!" Resting one hand between the Siren's delicate wings, Melisande helped her friend to the surface. Her own wings dripped and fluffed and shivered, sending out a spray of droplets into the sea air as they rose.
"Let's go to my house! Aki will make it feel better. Sevvie, I'm so sorry!" Already tugging him toward the cliffside villa, cheeks pink, Pasha tried to keep his mind off the hurt. "You were very brave!"

Sevilin breached the surface gladly, though in the open air his hand began to throb from the accident. Oookay, never doing that again, even for a pretty girl. Well... he looked back at Meli's worried face. Maybe for a pretty girl. But she better put out next time! At least that's what We`rika says.
"Aki?" Oh, her mommy. Sevilin thought back to the summer festival and tried to put a face to the name, but he couldn't really recall ever meeting her. Though from We`rika's impression, she sounded rather scary. But Melisande was a sweet heart so she couldn't be that much of a witch. Look at We`rika. He was quite the a** outside their house, but inside... he was Sevilin's b***h. Not that Pasha seemed spoiled! Well, nothing like him. No one was probably as bratty as he, and he was proud of the title.
"S'not yer fault..." The sea fairy waved her concern away with his good hand, happy to put any stubborn eel in its place gosh darnit! He was the princess of the sea and by joe they would show a little more respect.
Brave, huh? He wrinkled his nose in thought. Being brave hurt. "Thanks..." Floating around his friend, Sevilin put his good arm across Melisande's shoulders casually and watched the picturesque house grow as they traveled closer, easy to do when you float across the rough terrain.

"Mmhmm! Aki!" As though that explained everything, Melisande pulled ahead on the narrow cliff trail. She offered one hand back with a smile, tugging Sevvie upward. "It's this way!" Pasha was sure to take Sevvie's uninjured hand as they rose.
The grounds of the Villa were a bit on the wild side, with roses twining over the fence and the lawn dotted with bright summer dandelions. The large front doors stood open, and Melisande didn't hesitate to drift inside. "Aki? I brought a guest!!" Pasha's sweet voice echoed in the vaulted hall, and a distant voice called back.
They'd made it as far as the kitchen before Aki made her appearance. She was wearing a gauzy white maxi dress, and the backlighting of the window behind her suggested not much else. In her hand she held some sort of tropical drink, which clinked as she swirled it. "This is Sevvie! Can we go up to my room?"
Aki finally smiled, and took a sip as she considered. "Sure, darling. I'll be up with drinks and snacks in a minute, okay?" She waved to Sevilin with her free hand, glad to see the Raevan again. Though she missed Koyuki, it was good to see the siren out and about again!

"Ooooo...." Sevilin cooed as his head swiveled back and forth like a bobble toy to fit all the scenery in. It was something off a seasonal card or the setting of a romance movie. The sea fairy wished he could live beside the ocean in such a lovely house. He would have to discuss this with We`rika when he got home.
He followed right behind Melisande as she entered her house, almost bumping into her when she stopped to talk to Aki. Well if she was a witch like his mommy suggested, she was the pettiest one he'd ever seen. "Hi..." With a soft wave, he followed Pasha away. Wow, snacks and drinks without even asking.... Meli was good, real good. He still had much to learn from her.
"Is this yer--Ooou.... It's like a princess room...."

Melisande held the door to her room open for Sevvie, and beamed at his compliment. Her room was up the stairs, in one of the second story corners of the Villa. The double french doors stood open to let in the fresh air, showing a lovely panorama of the ocean beyond the balcony. Melisande's bed was crowded with little assorted cushions and shimmering bed covers, slightly obscured behind the haze of draping canopy.
Several vases were scattered throughout the room, packed with bright summer flowers. A large bouquet of sunflowers sat next to her antique phonograph. On the wall opposite her bed was a poster, showing a slim young woman in a corset with a mane of almost white curls and large, soulful eyes rimmed in pink liner....a woman that looked like she could have been Melisande's sister, in her own way! The script at the bottom said Aria d'Pasha, followed with details about the cast of the modern opera it depicted.
Giving Sevvie a moment to get comfortable, Melisande drifted in after. "That's what my brother calls me! A princess, in my tower!" Cheeks pink, she smiled at her friend, and scooped up a cushion to hold against her chest. "He said he was going to get me a fish tank, so I don't have to go all the way down to the shore."
"What do you think?" She meant about the fish tank, not about the room, but Meli forgot to be specific. It was so rare to have a visitor, she barely knew what to do!

Sevilin just couldn't help himself and floated over to her plush bed and pushed down on the mattress and finally flopped back against the soft comforter, looking up through the gossamer veil that surrounded them both.
"I am sooo jealous..." The sea fairy laughed without heat, rolling over on his chest to look at Melisande. "If you got a fish tank, you hafta let me stock it for you! I'll make sure I give you the nicest fish so they aren't mean to you! I wish I had a fishtank, I wish I had this room! If mine looked half as nice I'd never leave, especially if it had a windoow~! I dun have a window. Or plants... ugh, it's like a prison..."
With his stream of consciousness finally hitting an end, he buried his head in his friend's comforter and sighed. "I never knew the beach could be so exhausting..." Though it was probably that nice eel that zapped all his energy.

"Oooh, you must be tired. You fought that fish, and all that swimming!" Melisande held the cushion loosely in one hand, like it was a teddy bear, and smiled sadly at Sevvie. "I'd like nice fish someday, but not if you have to go somewhere dangerous to get them." Shrugging, she brushed by the canopy, setting it to rippling.
She was lucky to have such a nice room, but did the nymph really not have even a window? An idea occurred to her suddenly, and she leaned forward to whisper in confidence. "I think...we should go shopping! I have my very own money now, so I can buy Alto's food by myself. We could find some things to make your room nicer!!"
Pasha petted the back of Sevilin's head, fingers toying with the end of one blue dread. "Another day, I mean. We already had an adventure today!"

"Hm?" Sevilin mimicked Pasha and leaned in closer, his long fings twitching as he soft breath passed across the sensitive appendages.
The little frei's blue eyes bugged with surprise and lust. Money. She could... buy him things? The thought almost made him light-headed as he considered the possibilities. Somehow this sounded familiar... something We`rika told him. About women with money. The raevan was pretty sure he called them 'sugar mommas' and that if you found one, you should hold onto her for dear life. All they wanted you to do was stand around and look pretty, his guardian told him. Sevilin was good at that!
Replacing his gaping maw with a sweet smile, he shook his head vigrously. "Yeah! That would be fun! For another day, indeed haha!"

"Sevilin~?" Aki's uncertain voice called up the stairs, and Pasha jolted, snatching her hand back from Sevvie's hair. "I think your...ride...is here!"
"I've kept you too long." A pink blush settled across Meli's cheeks, and she lowered her head with a nod of apology. "Thank you, Sevvie...for playing with me, and for rescuing me!"
Melisande followed the nymph dutifully downstairs, pausing beside Aki. She waved until Sevilin was out of sight, and turned a smile up at her guardian.
"I take it you had fun?"
"I did! We went swimming, and there were little fish, and big fish, and~"
"Melisande?"
" -one of them wa-...yes?"
"Think you could tell me this story inside the house?"
Meli blushed again, and followed Aki back inside, shutting the front door with a click.
