Fashir ducked the shoe and shook his head, it seemed some things wouldn't change, he was calm as ever, and she was as always adorably of the handle. He yearned to turn and nuzzle her until she was calm, but those days were long past.

He frowned and turned to the shattered pots. "Your little tantrum shows me exactly why you can't control angelus, you can't even control yourself."

He knew the words were harsh, but how dare she give herself into the keeping of Chaos as his precious Evil incarnate when he had wanted her for himself so badly. He would have done anything to keep evil from ever touching her, in his domain she could always be at calm and peace. It tore at him to think she had turned her back on all of it, for what? the power to throw shoes at him?

That did it.
With a frustrated hiss, Mirage lunged at him. If that was how he was going to play this game, then so be it. She'd knock some sense into him if it was the last thing she did. Not that she intended to really hurt him, and it showed in the frustration on her face, tight-closed lips, narrowed eyes, and sheathed claws, but dang if the male didn't need a good shaking! She was so god-awful tired of him not listening to her. She said she couldn't control Angelus because she couldn't control anyone. Free will made sure of that. All she did was poke and nudge and prod in a direction. Angelus was too unpredictable for her to want anything to do with him.

And she'd be darned if she let Fashir use that haughty tone with her one more time!

Fashir took a step back and growled softly, she wouldn't dare...
He fell back knocked onto his side by the lunge and startled, how could she?
He twisted out from under her trying to pin her to the ground somehow before she could try and use her vicious claws on him. Not that they would do any permanent damage, but it stung.

"Mirage!"

Mirage growled low in her throat as she carefully took his shoulders in her paws and shook him.
"Dangit Fashir! I'm going to make you listen and understand if it takes all of eternity!" she hissed and shook him some more. Maybe if she rattled his brains, he'd learned to listen a bit more.
"Are you going to open those fool ears and listen to me?"

He growled softly at her shaking, she was younger her body made for the wicked workings, his housed an old soul. He was weary of fighting with her, and her shaking was starting to irritate him further.

"I don't see what choice I have if listening to you will get you to cease this foolish behavior." He snapped his jaws near her ear in warning. He could have thrown her off and left, but the truth was he wouldn't hurt her, even if she was trying to slash his throat.

Mirage rolled her eyes, lightly whapped his nose and sat back as she glared at him.
"Free will, Fashir. I'm sure you've heard of it. I can't control anything any more than YOU can. I can make suggestions and whatnot, but the final choice is always up to them. Most of the ones I influence are just that, easily influenced. And Angelus is NOT. I can push him towards a goal I want, but I have no guarantee that he won't divert. I like guarantees. And I don't like Angelus. Honestly? I would have done cartwheels if I thought you could have really kept him good."

She huffed and glared a bit at him, her muzzle scrunched a bit.
"There? Happy now? You know my dirty little secret. Now do you understand?" Even though she glared and looked generally frustrated with him, her eyes showed a different story. She wanted him to understand. For him to know that in the end she hadn't changed much. She just treated her "new" duty like she had everything in her life, seriously and by the book. It had been Fashir's rejection of her decision that made her so bitter and angry.

Fashir sighed and stood shaking off glad she was done with her piece, he knew she couldn't control the evil ones, but she should be able to mingle with them, direct them. He had done it with his good souls, of course her job was a bit harder.

For a moment he wondered how she must feel so isolated and surrounded by the evil ones she was supposed to manipulate. He shoved the thought away with a frown, she had wanted this life, now let her live it. The thought was unkind and his heart ached at it.

"I've never understood you..." He sighed.

Mirage's glare and look of frustration faded into a more... Well, her frown drew into a line, her eyebrows softened into a more neutral set, and her eyes took on a glassy appearance. Part of her looked... defeated. Broken.
"I was naive to think you ever did," she replied softly, her tone flat. That was it. She was done trying. How stupid to think he ever really cared about her. If he had, he wouldn't have condemned her for one mistake and her dedication to any job put in front of her.
"Get away from me, Fashir. I'm Evil. I was stupid, but I'm not anymore. You want me to control my agents, fine. The world will know hell, because you're not going to hold me back anymore," she finally said, her eyes narrowing a bit, the green orbs losing any life or emotion. They could have been painted stones.
"Throw everything you've got at me Fashir. And we'll see who comes out the victor in the end."

Fashir felt his heart twist in his chest, it begged him to turn back to her. Comforting words sought to escape his maw, anything to ease her pain and solitude. He swallowed and frowned trying to steel himself, wasn't this how it was supposed to be?

Good vs Evil, never united, they were supposed to be enemies, and Chaos always darting between them to spice things up. How he wanted to tear the wings off of Chaos and throw the feline into a fire pit for putting Mirage against him.

"We shall see then...Mirage..." He couldn't keep his voice from caressing her name like a lover.
