Did you get enough First Holocaust information? -----
But, yeah, so anyways....
In synopsis, the six- pointed star has meant many things throughout the centuries. Thus, it is not a valid criteria based upon which an entire argument about Rubella's religion could be formed.
However, with the "Jewish Star" as it is today, it is likely that Rubella is in fact Jewish. I think so. The star could mean many things or even likely be just to look pretty, but I don't think the Admins would do that; it's too confusing.
The Pshat (Simple) interpretation of the surface level is that Rubella is a Jew. I don't think we have to dig any further.

Perfect. Lovely. I accept all of it. Except one bit. In that post abot how the Stereotypes formed you stated the big nose was a genetic mutation. This is one explanation, yes. However. It could possibly be that the big nose came from an adaption to the desert (Israel/Egypt). We developed a big schnozz because it allows us to release heat quickly, keeping us relatively cool compared with an average European in that climate.

If the character is supposed to be from the country, it could just be a design based off of old west sheriff badges. See? Lol. I don't think the character is Jewish. I think it's just a reference to the old west.

I don't think the Gaia admins would bother to represent religion. It's too big a chance for them to lose business.

I still say it looks more like a Jewish Star. And I don't think they would knowingly post something confusing or miss a confusing detail. And what you see as a liability they may see as diversity.

We're not a large enough consumer base for them to risk alienating less tolerant consumers just to throw us a bone. Gaia is a business. They make lots of money off this thing. It's not a good strategic decision for them to honour a minority religion without also placing up lots of honours to other, more mainstream/larger, religions.
Until the admins themselves state the character to be Jewish, I don't think we can make that assumption at all.

I'll admit the sheriff badge is also a 6 pointed star - AND it would fit with her character. Though, I do think it looks more like a jewish star. If they wanted to make it a sheriff star, they should have made it copper and maybe had her wear it on the side. The picture seems to have the star shaped embossed on the inside of it - such as is the design for many star of davids. If there was enough room and detail to do that, they could have put the word sheriff on there. And maybe they could have made her dialog in game mention that she's wearing her grandpa's badge.. or something. It's all design and up to interpretation. But I do think it looks more like a Jewish star.

It does look very much like a Jew star. I suppose the character could very well be Jewish. It's just weird for Gaia to honour one religion and not others.

Your assumption that other NPCs aren't religous is interesting to me. They all wear the garb and ppose for Christian Holidays. Even though I'm Jewish and wear a Santa hat when I celebrate Christmas with the Catholic side of my family, but.....

I always just assumed Gaia only mentioned commercial holidays. Y 'know, x-mas, easter, and other s**t that makes them money. That's why they don't mention less known holidays or religions.
Then again, I guess they might want to pander to us Jews. After all, we have all the gold.

Explaining why almost every other religion of that region stereotypically has a big nose in one form or another. I think we're on to something! smile @Dis: We also has the big ticket items. *Thinks about the demon horns in my inventory* Muahaha.

Then I look in the mirror while I'm celebrating Christmas and decide to compromise for my dignity's sake.

One should always be a little contraversial..
