"LSD," Lithi said sternly, looking down her nose at him. "It's only stupid if you believe it's stupid and I don't believe it's stupid, so it's not. Kay? We're gonna kill something, you and me. Lookit ya, brother. You're so bony. You're gonna give momma a heart attack if you don't pop back to normal."
After walking for a little while, she mused, "Where did that butterfly go?"

"It's leading into the forest lithi...probably knows where the prey is."
He winced and stopped a moment trying to adjust his wobbly legs underneath him. Finally he sighed and moved again pushing himself on with little limps and hopped. He longed for the feeling of his four paws under him, he felt the sensation of his fourth leg for a moment. The feeling caused him to stagger and trip, he yelped as he hit the ground.

"Well then, what are we waiting for? Let's follow it!" she said cheerily. None of her happiness was fake, but was trying to get LSD to feel a little bit of it. Perhaps it would rub off on him. Perhaps not. She had to try either way!
As he gave a yelp, she spun around to see him in a heap on the ground. Her heart sank. "LSD...Brother..." She padded over to his side and nudged his muzzle with her own, licking his forehead. "I can't do it alone... We can do this..."

LSD growled softly and pushed himself back up his legs were weak from lack of use and they wobbled again beneath him. He struggled to balance himself and nuzzled his sister trying to hide his shame. A wolf who couldn't walk or run or chase things, he was useless.
"Come on then...lets finish this and go home..." His voice was a far cry from the once excited and happy pup he had been always eager to explore. Now he was quiet his voice tinged with anger when he spoke.
"It's going this way..." He followed his eyes haunted by the bright green flashes and butterfly that only appeared to torment him. He stopped as it stopped and fluttered around his head a creature of figment that only his twisted mind would ever see. He inhaled and glanced at his sister "There's deer up ahead..."

She watched him wobble and frowned, but when he looked back to her, she forced a smile upon her face and a wag of the tail.
He was willing to continue! She danced around him, nipping at his ear gently. "Wonderful! Let's go!" Puffing her chest out, she followed him doggedly, eyes locked on the road ahead of them.
When LSD stopped, she stopped. She herself couldn't see the neon green butterfly, but she knew he could see it and felt it was best if she listened to him and they followed it. And sure enough, it lead them to a deer...
"Okay..." She paused, musing to herself. How would they do this. They had to be successfull... He didn't look sickly, but he did look like he was limping a tad. "Okay, LSD. I'm gonna skirt around ahead and cut it off. When you see me get over there and nod, run him towards me. We'll corner him between us. Got it?"

"Lithi..." He growled softly his voice pained and his eyes haunted.
"Stop fooling...yourself...you know I won't be able to run anything towards you. I'll trip and scare the danm thing off." He frowned and looked down a moment before sighing and limping forward.
"Whatever lets just...do this...you can catch a rabbit after so you don't go hungry." He huffed and moved downwind so he could surprise the creature, with luck. He would have just turned tail and gone home, but he couldn't disappoint his sister, she was all he cared for, her and Phrenia.

Lithium shook her head, refusing to let his negative talk get to her. She stamped a foot softly on the ground, stared him in the eye and let out a growl. Something she had learned from Mom.
Then she turned tail and ducked into the bushes, padding quietly through the forest to get to the otherside. The deer was grazing and his antlered head came up for a moment as he looked around. Lithium froze. He relaxed and she continued on her path.
After what seemed like forever, she was ready. She gave a sharp nod, hoping LSD could see her, then tensed and readied for his rush. "You can do it LSD," she whispered to herself.

Unused muscles bunched and loosed in preparation, his eyes caught her nod and he shoved his body forward. One paw, another, and soon he had gained speed racing at the deer and driving his towards his sister. If he stopped he was going to fall though, he could feel it.
He slowed his pace a bit hoping Lithi would scare the buck back towards him, he could use him momentum to try and take the great prey down.

She nearly yipped in happiness when he rushed forwards in leaps and bounds, his speed amazing for a three-legged wolf! The deer startled, throwing itself backwards, aiming right for Lithium!
Lithi lunged forwards, burying her fangs into its hock for a second before it kicked free, leaping back towards LSD. It probably figured it was well-matched; injured wolf with injured buck.
Lithium followed the chase. "Get it, LSD!"

LSD shoved himself up with what little strength was in his back leg, he flew lopsided at the buck. Luckily his jaws hadn't lost any of their power, if anything they had become stronger with his age. He clamped onto the bucks great corded neck and hung there for dear life.
He could see the slashing hoofs kicking out at his sides, his jaw only tightened as his body dangled from the terrified creature. He couldn't make the kill from here, and if he let go he knew he would be crushed easily.

Lithium barked as LSD's jaws caught the buck by the throat, clamped on there for dear life. She hurried to his side, watching the flailing animal kick out with his hooves. Her brow furrowed. "Hang in there, LSD. You're closing off his air supply, we just gotta wait him out!" she called up to him, curling around back and sinking her teeth into the already wounded hock, doing her best to hold the deer to the ground.
After what seemed like forever, the deer gave one last shuddering breath and his legs buckled. Lithium darted back, to LSD's side, her maw covered in blood. "See?" she shot him a look that said "I told ya so." "We did it!"

Finally he unclamped his tired jaw and slumped down beside the still animal panting. "That was crazy Lithi, you could have been hurt!" He snarled at his sister, yet inside he felt a surge of pride, he had managed somehow. Perhaps if he built his strength back up...
He shoved away the idea for the moment and moved to stand on three shaking legs moving over to nuzzle his sister. "You okay?"

Lithium grinned like a maniac, dancing around their kill and jumping up to lick her brother's maw. "I'm FINE brother!" she laughed, darting away to sniff her brother's handiwork. "You were the one in danger, anyhow! Did you get kicked?" She looked him up and down, but he wasn't favoring anything. "LSD... We did it. We brought down a buck on our own. I couldn't have done it without ya, brother!"

He gave a soft relieved sigh and chuckled at her enthusiasm, inside he felt like prancing around their kill as well. They had really done it, it was surprising.
"I didn't get kicked..." He had felt the hooves brush his thick fur, but luckily he dangled perfectly between them.
"We should try and get some of this home..." He licked his lips his mouth salivating at the prospect of ripping into the delicious meat. His stomach gave a grumble of desire.

"Good!" she squealed, watching her brother with wide green eyes. Watching for any sign of happiness. She could see relief in his eyes, maybe pleasure as well. She heard his belly growl and giggled. "No. We deserve to eat part of it now. Mama won't mind it. She'll just be pleased that we took down a deer!"
To prove her point, she tore into the shoulder of the dead beast, savoring the sweet taste of blood on her tongue. "It's wonderful. Dig in!"
