I'm going to re-read the series next week so I'll be more confident in my answers but...
Stan was always decent looking, he was just a geek down to his unneeded thick glasses with tape and his pocket protector.
And Sookie is loaned out to Stan to read human minds to find his missing nestmate.
Season 2 is going to be WAY off of book 2.
I mean, Eggs was introduced at the end of season 1 as another person Maryanne was helping.
When (and I'm going to skip over the Maryanne rant) we all know Eggs went to school with Tara and Sookie (and JB, Where the hell is JB's tight a** in the series?!).
I like to refer to the show as a beautiful train wreck.
It's so bloody and butchered, yet it's beautiful and you can't pull your eyes away.
Sometimes, I wish I wasn't such a fan of the books because I could enjoy the show more.
I'm sure my husband would like it better too. He enjoys the show and I'm sure he's tired of me yelling and throwing snacks at the tv.

A beautiful train wreck. That's a very good way to look at it.
From what I've heard so far about the next season it is barely going to be recognizable to the book. I know they go looking for Eric's maker (who I'm guessing is the one missing instead of whats his name) and that there are some problems with Bill's girl Jessica. Also, for some un-Godly reason or another, Alexander Skarsguard cut his hair! He doesn't wear his long haired wig like he did last season. That just makes me sad. Of course it could just be that he has it braided back or something. I pray that is the case.
I'm really interested to know about Maryanne though. I know her story is totally screwed up from the books but they managed to peak my interest in it.
OH! This totally reminds me of how pissed I am about the pig! In season one they just showed a giant hog that look like it had been painted. THAT IS NOT A RAZOR BACK!! Its not even dangerous! Its just a effing pig! Razorbacks have huge tusks and are mean as hell. And that...ugh! That was one of my biggest pet peeves for last season.

I was born and raised in Fla, where hog hunting is like deer hunting for the north (I just moved from Ohio, so I'm well acquainted with both).
Razorbacks are effing scary and Maryanne's is just a huge pig.
Bacon.

I'm pretty sure they could find a trained razorback.
I'm going to quote Sookie in episode one. "That's just lazy"

And completely nonthreatening. I mean, how scary is it to see a naked woman and a giant pig chewing on grass in the middle of the road? You don't think paranormal, you think someone is drunk. Ugh!
What's worse is they obviously covered it in red dirt or something to try and make it look like it was covered in blood or something.
If that pig is back I'm going to put a hit out on it and demand that it be replaced by a razorback.

Definitely not what I had pictured either. In a way, I think she looks kinda cool, like a big version of Midna from Twilight Princess. At least with the horns and everything.
But, from what I understood in the books, the maenad was supposed to be human, just really wild looking. This thing has horns and claws like its some kind of demon. I'm really interested to know what it looks like up close.
I'm also rather upset that it doesn't tie in with Eric and his bar. They seem to be leaving out all of the big Eric parts of the story but I guess I'll just have to learn to live with that.
But I swear if they don't get the pig right.....
