Sayo's sword slid into the gap between the axe's blade and its shaft, allowing a quick twist of her weapon to jerk the axe so it was heading up instead (not to mention impossible to manuver effectively until he got it free, which was not going to be easy) while she simply grabbed the staff's shaft to keep it back as well, and with both feet firmly on the ground head-butted Kaigen. Subtlety was not something the girl was known for.

As Ibarahime was forced upwards, Kaigen went with her, using the fact that Sayo grabbed Jakenkou to his advantage. He swung around and ended up behind her. The chain attaching the two weapons followed after him, and he twirled two loops around her neck faster than she would realize. By the time she did realize that she was caught there, Ibarahime would slam down into her back, knocking her forwards. If she let go of Jakenkou, she would get away with just spinning around, otherwise, she'd be strangled.
((let it hit you, I wanna make a point. No harm will come to Sayo, XP))

(( And you think I'm NOT trying to make a point? XP Your weapon wasn't forced up very far; it was more turned than anything. ))

Trying to swing around while he was holding onto two different weapons wasn't a particularly bright idea. Even Sayo could tell that much. He could have at least let go of one of them if he wanted to do that much. Instead, all he really managed to do was twist his body and expose his back to her as he tried to do something with those chains as he moved to the side; an easy target, and an attempt on his part that didn't get the chains close to her. Sayo yanked her arms so that they would cross each other, pulling what she was holding with her. Kaigen didn't have half as much raw strength as she did, and the force she was using to pull would break at least one of his arms unless he let go of both weapons. As a bonus, twisting like that he wouldn't have even the basic ability to resist by knowing how to set his body, since his arm had been moved to a very awkward angle by his own actions. Sometimes, simple was best.

((I don't get it . . . I didn't expose my back, I swung around you. I faced you at all times during that last post.))

(( You didn't let go of either weapon, and Sayo was gripping one and had a controlling force against the other via her sword; the axe wasn't lifted up very far at all. Unless your arms are stretchy, there's no real way you would have been able to get behind her. ))

Nani intentionally took the long way to the eleventh division, the longer she could avoid the brutes of the division, who were often scarier than many of the captains through out seireitei. Once in the division though, seeing as even her long path had run out, she made her way toward Kaigen quickly, doing her best to avoid anyone else from their division while she walked, though once in the eleventh division she more so ran than walked. Red in the cheeks and out of breath, Nani made her way into the area, quick to notice the spar going on in the center of the open space and being careful to remain toward the walls edge, keeping out of their way. Though she was concerned about Kaigen's wounds, and Sayo's, there was no chance the small third seat would raise her voice enough for them to hear her, she wasn't going to face the woman over something that apparently didn't really faze either of them. She'd do her best not to worry about it, if Kaigen wasn't overly concerned then she would try not to be. Though she was a medic, he knew more about his own body than she did, there was no doubt in her mind about that truth, but the thing was it was hard for her to remain unconcerned when he was using his bankai. Bankai was high level and difficult to maintain, for anyone, a third seat in particular would have troubel with it. She trusted Kaigen was capable of it, but Nani'd seen the kind of strain a high level technique such as that would effect a person's body and it worried her to know he was attempting it. There was a reason he was a third seat, she really doubted he was capable of it.
Love him or not, no amount of trust would change the fact that she was worried about him. What Sayo was asking him to do was dangerous, and though Nani was a sweet and kind girl through and through, she was finally starting to hate someone. Whether it was in good hopes or not didn't matter, Sayo could very well kill Kaigen the way she was treating him and when it rattled Nani's nerve's so much to sit against the wall and watch, she couldn't help but start to hate her.

Kaigen was forced into a split decision, and did just that as he pushed off the ground to move over Sayo'shead, and muttered, "Geki."
Sayo was engulfed in a red light and bound for less than a second. Kaigen knew she would break it like she tried to break the other binds, but he at least bought enough time to keep his arms in tact, and pushed off her face with his feet, ripping Jakenkou from her hand, and jerked Ibarahime so that the head scraped Sayo's Zanpakuto.
Kaigen rolled to safety and sprung back as Sayo undoubtedly broke his binding spell, and scowled.
If Sayo didn't start to think that smarts were enough to strength, she'd be crazy.

It was a pretty good plan the guy had, except that when he was yanking his weapon away, the girl had already broken his binding and tightened her grip to keep it, using his movements to launch into a spiral and start spinning around and around fast enough to lift him off the ground as she pulled Dei Gratia Regina out from where it was between the blade and the shafe of his axe to give her better momentum. Brute strength was all you really needed to win a fight; if you had enough of it, you could just tank through anything that your enemies did and then kill them. Or try really hard not to kill them, like now. Killing allies was bad.

Kaigen knew where lifting off the ground was going . . . he wouldn't allow it. As soon as his feet managed to miss the ground, Kaigen let go of Jakenkou but kept his grip firmly on Ibarahime. The change in radius made her rotational velocity useless in picking him up as he touched down, figuring out already haw to get Jakenkou back. He made sure to keep slack in the chain, even going so far as to close the gap between them to prevent her plan from taking shape. Then suddenly, he grabbed the chain and yanked back, managing to stop her spin altogether. He never said he wasn't strong . . . just not as strong as her, but she couldn't possibly put her full strength into a spinning motion. He pulled again, spinning her in the opposite direction like a top. She was obviously capable of maintaining her balance, but that wasn't Kaigen's real purpose.
He swung down and to he side, aiming to intercept her armored hand with Ibarahime. He didn't know if it would work, but he had to try and break that damned armor if he wanted his weapon back.

As Kaigen attempted to pull in the opposite direction, Sayo's hand came in to grab the chain, and with a sharp tug she snapped it to seperate his weapons. That part of his Zanpakuto's released form was its weakness; it was thinner, and thus, weaker, than the main weapons. She knew all about aiming for weaknesses; people usually aimed for her shoulders when they fought her, since her armor stopped most other blows, and that made defense easy. Now, though, she had his staff as well as her own sword. Calmly, she brought his staff up to block his axe. The axe definitely seemed to have more offensive power, and maybe he'd even wind up breaking his own weapon. How badly would that stink? If not, well, he wasn't going to have a very fun time trying to get his weapon back until the little training session was over.

Sayo would seriously regret breaking his zanpakuto very soon. Kaigen's hand stopped Jakenkou without even cutting him, as Ibarahime his her target, Sayo's gauntlet. The armor crumbled away all around. The removal of the armor was enough that Kaigen was able to rip Jakenkou from out of her hands this time, finally, and jumped back.
It was a good thing that Kaigen wasn't a master of his bankai, because if he was, Sayo would be out half of a hand.

"You're right, Sayo . . . I'm not cut out for this division," Kaigen said suddenly, likely catching her by surprise. Sure she said it first, but whoever would have thought he'd admit to it.
"Maybe I should just get transferred until I'm ready."
PostPosted: Mon May 11, 2009 3:03 pm

The girl's armor took the hit and was cut slightly, but it was still too strong to simply destroy. "That's right. You're not. You're too afraid." she answered, smiling. Maybe being fearless was stupid. But they were the first ones sent into real combat, and the job of 11th Division was to kill as many enemies as they could as fast as they could. Planning was good, but if you couldn't just run in to kill things, then you weren't cut out for 11th.

((OK, the whole point of my bankai is to smash through defenses . . . you may think me that weak, but I'm not. Your gauntlet crumbled))

"Not too afraid to tell you to ******** yourself with your meaningless ideals," Kaigen replied, sealing his zanpakuto to let the spirit rest and recover. As he sheathed both the sword and the knife, Kaigen turned his back on Sayo for real this time.
"If nothing else, the reason I can't lead this division is that I don't have the respect of my lieutenant. If not even the most simple of brutes will follow me, then why the hell should I lead? I'm not afraid at all, Sayo . . . I'm simply inadequate."
PostPosted: Mon May 11, 2009 3:22 pm

Sayo just smiled. "You're a 3rd Seat. You don't have half the power you need to be a true leader. If you want to be a leader, then you need to be strong enough to earn the respect of both your subordinates and your allies. Sure, you might be able to do paperwork, but if you can't fight as one of the best, then yes, you are inadequate. Suck it up, grow a pair, and get stronger." she wasn't really one to mince words or be nice about it. In conversations, as in combat, she was fairly blunt.

"Yes, grow a pair, because I'm obviously scared of you and everyone around me," he scowled, walking away from the Ring. He was so tweaked that he completely forgot that Nani was even there.
"I'm requesting a transfer to division six where I'll be appreciated a bit more for my talents. You can be captain or just lead as a lieutenant, I don't give a flying s**t. Whatever you do, don't run the division into the ground like you try to do with everything else."
