Josh nodded at her, though he didn't really understand the word she'd used. Copacetic? What did that mean? He'd have to ask his mom later. He took a long drink from his glass of kool-aid. It was good, kool-aid always was.
"Um. If you want, we could play pi--" He never finished his sentence. He fell back, onto the ground.

Casia's eyes widened and she jumped back. Was this a game? Was he trying to psych her out? "Haha." she said dryly. "If you think I-"
Slowly, the siren keeled over too, lying on the floor next to the boy.

Casia got up, clutching her head. How had she wound up on the floor? "-m going to fall for that, you have another think coming." she finished, flashing a faint grin. As she rubbed her head though, something tried to reach her brain, some signal...
She rubbed her head again. What happened to her hair? Immediately she felt suspicious, swooping over to look at Josh. Had he cut her hair somehow? Princely people didn't DO that! "What-"
The siren paused. She was staring at herself lying on the ground next to her.

Joshua sat up, at once feeling awkward. His back felt different. He reached a hand back to see what was poking him. Soft, feathered wings? How had this happened. He went to look at Casia, and found himself looking at himself, as if in a mirror.
"Casia?" He asked, frowning at the sound of his voice. Why did he sound like the girl? "...What's going on?"

Just because Casia was in Josh's body, didn't mean her mind was any different and the layered parts of it were all in chaos, wounded girl, suspicious siren, all screaming at her too fast for her to interpret.
One thought reigned supreme, one roaring wave crying 'BETRAYAL' over and over. Josh wasn't a prince, he was a body snatcher. An unusually cold look flashed in Josh' body's eyes and she looked over at the person in her body furiously. "You..." she started and paused, clutching her head and gnashing her teeth. She counted to ten in her mind but it didn't help. No amount of tens could make the moment better.
"You bogue!" she screeched, but it came out lower in Josh's pleasant voice. She felt the limitations, as a siren she could reach sound levels that broke glass. Without her voice she was powerless and all she could do was stare at him as if her gaze would burn him out of her body. "Give my body back!"

Honestly, Joshua was scared. "I w-would if I c-could!" He stammered. "I don't know what happened!" Yes, he was scared. An angry girl was inside his body.
"Look, it's not like I want your body or anything. I prefer mine.. So if you know a way to put us back to normal.." He tried being calm, he really did. What had happened?

"Oh!" Casia said furiously. Her siren side was out in full force, all the nasty little thoughts that had been surfacing ever since Anna left flowing out of Josh's mouth unchecked when the floodgates were opened by her panic. "You don't know! That's just great, it MUST mean I know since sirens switch bodies all the time!" Casia threw Josh's hands up in the air. How was he managing to not flip his wig over this if it really was a surprise to him? She didn't trust him, he had to have done it on purpose.
"I don't even know how this happened." she said fiercely. "Princes are supposed to be magical, right? Right? So this must be your fault!" She seethed, forcing herself to count to ten again. Nothing would get done if she just shouted at him, no matter how much the bogue probably deserved it. "Look." she said eventually, in a terse voice, "I don't care WHO did this. Just find a way to change us back, Mr. Princely."

Joshua felt so bad. Though he knew he had done nothing wrong, Casia's anger made him feel guilty. And if princes were supposed to be magical, maybe he had done it without meaning to. "I'm sorry." He said, "I don't know if princes are magical or not.. See, I'm not really a prince."
He sighed. "Maybe we should tell our parents? They might know how to fix this. Because, I don't."

Casia jerked Josh's head in something that could have been a nod. "Now you're thinking." she said. Jane wouldn't be much help, but Thali was here, and Thali would definitely know how to deal with things because she was a real mom. "Where's your mom then?" she demanded. "Of course she'll know."

Josh nodded, and was about to open his mouth to call for her, when he thought better of it. "You'll have to call for her." He told Casia. "She'll think we're playing a game if I do." What if they never turned back? He didn't want to go live with Jane! He wanted his mom. His family.
His, well, Casia's face scrunched up in dismay, and sniffled.

Casia winced as he used her face to express himself. She was being violated! Standing up, she took a deep breath. "Thaliiii?!" she called and screeched to a stop. Josh's voice was so different, it was tripping her up. Testing it out, she hummed a few notes and tried again. "Thali!" she called desperately. "Thalii!" She marched over to the doorframe and peered out, yelling again. "Thali!"

Josh rolled his eyes. He knew what his mother would say. He'd never called her by her first name before. "You're supposed to call her Mom!" He whispered, as Thali walked into the room.
"Josh?" Thali asked, looking alarmed. She usually got a 'Mom' occassionally even a 'mother' but never Thali. Maybe he was in his rebelious stage. She'd heard about that. "What's wrong?" She looked from child to child. Casia looked like she was going to cry, Josh looked angry. She sighed. "Don't worry, I'll call your mom." She told Casia.

Thinking for a moment that Thali was addressing her, Casia said "She's not my mother." automatically. Catching herself, because this was NOT someone who had just stolen her body, she added "But thank you."
She felt a lump form in the pit of her -or was it Josh's?- stomach as she realized something with Josh's comment. Thali was calling Jane, but not for her. "Wait!" she said hastily. "You don't get it- I'm Casia!" Panic was rising up in her mind again and she flapped her wings, or rather thought about flapping her wings. The fact that nothing happened made it somehow worse. "Something happened and we switched places, what do we do?" The siren clung to the last hope that Thali would magically know what to do. She was a mom after all, right?

Thali gave the two a confused look, before nodding. She couldn't help believing them, there was something different about Josh, and Casia didn't seem to be acting like herself either. Something must have happened. "I still think I should call her." The elf didn't know what to do, she'd never heard of anything like this.
She pulled out a cell phone and started to dial Jane's number. "Uh, Jane. I think you better get over here." She said.

Jane frowned on her route as her phone rang and she fished in her pockets for it, picking up with a flip.
"Hello?" she said, and then blinked at the sudden pace the conversation was taking. "Thali? What's wrong?" She had just barely dropped Casia off at her house half an hour ago. What could have gone amiss so soon?
Meanwhile, Casia looked nervous. Thali seemed like she believed them, but if she knew Jane, and though she hadn't been with her long, she thought she did, there was no way the sensible guardian was going to believe this or abandon her duty to the mail to see her ward's latest mistake. Jane thought words were important, after al, and Casia knew the mail was the most important thing of all to the woman. "Wait!" she said hastily. "Can't you just change us back?"

"I think the kids got into a fight." Thali said. Ah, she loved causing trouble, even if it was for her own son. It would benefit them in the long-run. She knew they didn't get along. "Do you think you can come pick Casia up?"
Josh sniffled, and clung to Thali. "Don't make me leave.." He pleaded. Thali just shook her head at him--er, her, and grinned.
"Casia seems a little reluctant to leave. I think she knows she'll be in trouble. Don't be too hard on her."
