Max_Hass All seems much better now. The lag is minimal. But posting so much is so distasteful just to get a pair of green bunny slippers and lose my nice skin tone. I wonder how the trick or treat will go starting Sunday? :sets an alarm for Sunday afternoon local time: Minimal Lag? Good riddance! You should have seen things at midday!

I've seen the final effects of finding 500 grunnies. It's not pretty. But what I want to know is at what point does one get the grunny plushie I saw on the guy's head? For the record, I haven't found one grunny plushie for sale yet in the marketplace. Somehow, I doubt they'll be many up for grabs. Take a look at this example: http://www.gaiaonline.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=10733198

I guess some people like having red eyes, with no hair and two protrusions on their head. Oh well. At least now I know why I stopped trying.

Now even the Admin have admitted that the Grunny Bump Festorgy is indeed killing the servers, and re-arranged the schedule to start the Trick or Treat event later, and end the Grunny Bump Festorgy 6 hours earlier.

serial_experiments Now even the Admin have admitted that the Grunny Bump Festorgy is indeed killing the servers, and re-arranged the schedule to start the Trick or Treat event later, and end the Grunny Bump Festorgy 6 hours earlier. I was wondering why nothing was going on at the moment. It will be interesting to see what happens when the admins resume the event when they think all is well. /update From http://www.gaiaonline.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=10743716Quote: Hello everyone, Happy Halloween, and hope everyone is able to participate in the Grunny event and get their items. We are gearing up for the Trick or Treat event right now, but we noticed that with the traffic caused by the Grunny invasion event, we will not be able to host both events at the same time... Therefore, we will be ending the Grunny invasion event at 6PM pacific standard time (9PM Eastern). We've worked hard on all the events and we hate to close it down early, but in order to have a smoother Trick or Treating event so everyone can have more fun in one event than to be stuck with two crippled ones. We'll keep you all posted about any changes and updates. -Lanzer 27 mintues and counting...

5 minutes to go. I won't become a zombie. Though its funny to see the ones who wastes time and banned others to hump their way up to 500 grunnies and over want an item for their effort rolleyes
Oh well, 140 is good when you have to deal with life.

There was a brief pause for the admins to reboot their loyal array of hard working Commodore 64 servers so the trick and/or treat phase of their plan could be carried out.
Nothing has happened yet and the lag has not improved much thanks to the lurkers poking around the various shops. Oh, and so far, none of the shopkeeps have costume changes.
grrrrrrr.

Well, the grunny spamming is over. Time for the smooth transition into NPC images not loading and the inability to get items for candy collected.

The trick or treating looks nice and uncomplicated - but, oh noes, nothing is loading up!
For a change.

Looks like the graphics server get attacked by the AUUUUUUUUUUUUUUGGGGGGGH.
We will have the event till thursday. It has become quite similar to towns now for collecting candy. (I.E. 10 pieces no combo needed) you get your items in order too.

ONE MORE THING: It also takes about 3 minutes for a candy to appear at an NPC's place. 30 minutes altogether, minus searching for jack.

Well, now that the annual fire over at Gambino's place is casting a nice warm cloud of ash and embers over the island, I find that it took the admins a couple of hours to get stage two of this halloween farce rolling.
The shop graphics are still loading like they were being hosted on an antique IBM AT circa 1984.
Thanks to BlackRavenWyrd for the 411 on the times for the candy distribution. Given the amount of time it took to research and key in this post, I should run and find my next token from the shopkeepers.
