Aww I'm so jealous of you! I love the planets suite with my life. We're playing Holst's Second suite in F for Military Band as of now. We were sight reading today. Train wreck. Considering I'm a freshman, it was just horrible on my part. I may have played a total of 60 notes in the ENTIRE thing. But Mvmt 2 is great. I love it. But I don't play either. D:

You lucky bastards, our marching show consisted of music back from the civil war like... Battle song of the republic, but they were rewritten so they sound like trash, and now for concert band we're working on Christmas music and our pep band stuff

We are in the process of switching from marching to concert, so we are sightreading music to find stuff we are capable of for the Christmas concert. Unfortunately, concert season=Christmas songs being hummed throughout my classes, by me and other band kids. So far we have one song and for soem reason sightread one he was planning on giving to the lower band. We should be getting photocopies tomorrow, and I am hoping with my life he gives me 1 or 2 part, not the atrocious third part me and another sightread tday(our range was horrid. We showed the part to everyone else, and they were just like 0.o "I feel bad for you" and of course, we failed terribly at it[I managed to play about a page of the three pages, though we only played two of the pages) Can't remember what it was though. Possibly Christmas Festival...

And our concert is on the 9th, and concert season started on Monday. Yay learning two songs in 2 weeks! (*Groan*)
