"Yes." LuLu watched Zul’s brazen display of power with awe. Her mouth fell agape momentarily before she floated closer to examine the charred surface of the fencepost. Just as thought, the stark white plane of wood was marred by a black scar in the shape of a perfect handprint. LuLu’s hand reached out to trace along the scorched wood. Her hand slowly pressed flat against the disfigured pillar. Her fingers stretched to occupy the shape of Zul’s hand. A giggle erupted from her chest. His hands were much larger. Her thin fingers strained to fill up the area that the mark consumed. She was also delighted by the subtle warmth that still radiated from the wood. She looked up at Zul and chimed, “How do you do this?”
She lifted her hand from the post and rubbed her fingers together. A fine layer of charcoal and ash rested on the appendages. The more she rubbed, the more it seemed to spread over her hands. A smudge even found its way to her upper arm. LuLu wiggled her fingers gently and held them up to Zul, “What is this?” It seemed as though she was already ahead of him. The rabbit frei was already starting their exploration; her curiosity was growing larger with each passing second.

Charmed. It was how he was looking at her, with blue eyes unusually gentle, his smile small but fond of the female Frei's giggling. It was easy to forget they'd talked of exploring in terms of gaining ground - surely their adventure had continued in a different but more endearing path.
"Do?" he repeated with amusement, lifting his hand to look at it and wiggle his fingers. He moved and his power obeyed, but how to explain it? "Is like part of me...that comes out. It's me. I tell myself to do something and I do it." So it wasn't the most eloquent explanation, but even he hadn't thought that far. Zul mused over it to himself, teetering on the precipice of deep thinking before soot-covered fingers suddenly manifested in his line of vision.
Blue eyes blinked and looked at the smudged fingers, over to those inquisitive amethyst eyes, and he laughed. He couldn't help it! The awe on her face and the way the smudge seemed to color over her skin like another tattoo was entirely too charming! His hand closed to a fist while he laughed, ice crystals forming over the visible part of his glove before they disappeared just as quickly; when his fingers opened, his palm was wet. Carefully taking the Rabbit's hand, he rubbed his wet glove over her fingers. "Residue," he proudly flaunted another odd word in his vocabulary. "From burning. Burning wood."
He couldn't help but laugh again, dabbing his fingers over the mark on her forearm. "LuLu, you look so cute like that."

LuLu listened to Zul's explanation and tried to understand. The concept was unusual to say the least and she found it hard to grasp. If he could manifest fire then it was a part of him? It was obvious that she was struggling with the idea. "Part of you..." The female frei wiggled her fingers again as if trying to produce her own fire. When nothing formed she seemed taken aback. Her blond brows kitted together in concentration. LuLu focused on her hand and tried again. Still, nothing was produced. No flame. Not even a spark. She gave one more attempt at her friend's trick. She closed her eyes tightly and put all of her thought into the action. She emitted a small grunt but nothing else. Her rosy lips downturned in frustration, "Fire is not part of me."
When she looked back to Zul, he was already demonstrating another one of his talents. He could make ice too! LuLu observed the prism of ice crystals caked onto his glove. They glittered in the sun like millions of finely cut diamonds. LuLu floated closer to examine this new trick. She was about to reach out and touch the sparkling coating when, all too quickly, the display of colors faded away. Her male counterpart was left with a soggy hand.
Zul closed the distance between them and proceeded to wipe the soot from her hands and arms. So this was residue. LuLu flapped her wings. They gave a soft leathery squeak as she tried to form the word, "Rez.. ee... dew. Is like dirt?" She looked up at Zul for confirmation. Whenever she got dirty she would have to wash herself. So this residue was similar in that aspect. Whenever she got dirty Josh would wash her. So Zul was similar in this aspect, too.
Soon another question struck the young raevan. "Zul has many parts." He had control over fire and ice. He could even make water and the burning stuff that stopped the metal monster. "What parts do I have?"
She placed her hands further in Zul's face. His hands made magic so he should be able to tell what kind she would make. LuLu awaited his response eagerly.

"No," Zul agreed with a smile that implied that it was not at all a bad thing, "fire is not a part of my LuLu." He extended one of his wings, using the marbled webbing as a sort of cloth to wipe the soot from her arm; there, the tan skin was unblemished! It was hard to see the rubbing against his bi-colored wings, and therefore he had no problem with marring the appendages for the greater good.
He tapped his lip with his free hand at the question. "Not exactly. Is remains of something, but can be dirty." That was far more complicated than it needed to be, but Zul didn't mind in favor of sounding smart. He had to continue to be the one his LuLu would look up to, after all, and she wouldn't want to look up to a ninny now would she? "Residue can be from lots of things. Like...rain, and oil, and fire, and--"
Blue eyes blinked at the palms suddenly near his face, lifting his hands to gently encircle her wrists; there was no trace of heat or coldness on his gloves, not even the wetness from before. The demon had no way of knowing what LuLu could or couldn't do; it was their second meeting, and the first had her learning to use a pen. It wasn't exactly an indication of her power, unless her ability included the destruction of paper. Thinking fast, he gave her a friendly smile, offering, "LuLu has parts that charm Zul. I think that's very special."
He paused for a moment, looking over her markings. What would the little Frei be capable of, he wondered? No doubt, she would surprise them all, like being able to shoot lightning from her ears. "LuLu will find all about LuLu when the time is right," he added in a gentle manner, a little wiser than he felt. Not too bad a recovery, if he did say so himself!

LuLu listen to Zul’s statement half heartedly. It was peppered with words she had yet to learn. The jumbled sentences flew over her head like wayward arrows. The only thing that kept her attention was the baphomet raevan’s rasping voice. She let the subject die silently and asked no more questions. Instead, she grew on the idea that her definition was correct for the time beings. Residue was dirt. Simple enough.
LuLu remained still as Zul’s gloved hands encircled her wrists. The usually constricting touch would have been uncomfortable if it were not for the male raevan’s gentle demeanor with the rabbit frei. It was obvious he cared for her and wanted no harm to befall her. LuLu was at ease with Zul and it was apparent by the languid lulling of her ears and content expression adorning her face.
It was a rare moment when the fidgety frei was completely relaxed.
She listened to his analysis carefully. He seemed to be pondering just how to go about unraveling her complex structure. LuLu was dying to know just what she was composed of. Zul’s answer was far from displeasing. LuLu’s lips parted into a delighted smile as Zul’s sweet sentiments graced her ears. “I am part charm? Zul has this part too. He charms me.” The rabbit batted her eyelashes to add emphasis to the declaration she was making.
She enjoyed compliments.
LuLu was far from discovering her own ‘magical’ powers, but she could still get far without them. She already knew that charm had a way of persuading people in ways that fire and ice did not. Perhaps subtle powers like these would be better in the end? Who needed to wield the strength of the gods when a few simple words could bring someone to their knees.
LuLu was pleased for now. She entwined her fingers with Zul’s once more. “We explore now. I may find more parts of myself.” She giggled to herself enjoying the notion.

His keen eyes watched her carefully for any signs of distress or disappointment. The last thing he wanted to do was let down his LuLu, especially when he felt like it was something he should know. It didn't matter that it was impossible for the demon to know what the Bunny was capable of, he still should because it was LuLu! What other reason did anyone need?
Zul's train of thought was sufficiently derailed by the female's sweet smile flutter of lashes over her amethyst eyes. The demon stared for several long moments, finding the expression to be quite endearing, making his mouth twist into a pleased grin. He could get used to being looked at like that! "Okay," he replied intelligently, allowing his fingers to lace with hers as she declared the next thing to do. Exploring further! He could go for some of that.
He began to float into the street, drawing the Bunny close and into his arms as though giving her an intimate embrace; one look at his face, however, would prove that theory wrong, as he Zul gave every single vehicle on the road a look that might have made the metal wilt off their very frames. Confident that none would move and defy him, he relinquished his hold on his delightful friend and lead her across the street. Where better to start exploring than the other side of the road? That's where most jokes started, anyway.
And so, the male Frei continued down the sidewalk, parallel from where they'd been, only it wasn't where they were now and thus was different to him. "You will amaze everyone," Zul finally said, firm in his conviction. "You will be the best." At what? They'd figure that out when they got there.

Zul’s grin was misshapen and somewhat lopsided; however, it still fit. It fit the moment. It fit the mood. It fit Zul. The smile was not pristine or perfect but it was natural and inviting like the male frei. LuLu hesitated to admit it, but the look was positively… adorable. The word did not sound right in the rabbit’s mind. Yet, the male raevan’s expression gave her the same flutter in her chest as when she saw a rabbit in the yard or a puppy on the street corner. LuLu’s own pouty lips upturned for what must have been the millionth time that day.
LuLu almost let out a surprised squeak when their finger tip brushing together grew into fingers curling then blossomed into a full embrace. Her ears stood on end as Zul made a protective show out of leading her across the street, one that was probably bombastic enough for Broadway.
When they had made it safely across she was released once more. LuLu’s lavender eyes flicked around briefly at her new surroundings. They were only a few feet from where they were previously; nevertheless, the feeling of unfamiliarity hung thickly around the frei. It caused LuLu’s chest to tighten. But now, it was with the excitement of adventure rather than the fear of getting lost. The frei chimed, “For now, I will be best at exploring.” With that, she floated further down the sidewalk.

The demon's hand stayed curled with LuLu's for the time being, not wanting to lose her in the vast jungle of houses, fences and shrubs. His blue eyes continually swept back across the road, looking for his woman's truck - it would be his beacon, his homing point, and hopefully the anchor that would keep them from getting entirely too sidetracked. Zul was finding it harder to worry about such a thing with the exciteable femme in his presence, however, his attention more and more drawn towards LuLu as she lead them further onwards.
He was content, for the time, to be lead. It gave him a chance to really look around the residential area and absorb how 'normal' humans lived. Houses of similar design dotted each side of the road, different colors than the houses on either side and seeming to sport some personal or gaudy touch that made it slightly more different; weathered wooden ephigies of holidays passed, vibrant and decaying flowers alike, and yet some with pint-sized yipping things that looked like one well placed kick of a human foot would send them three blocks down. Zul wasn't entirely sure where that thought came from, but he was pretty sure it was something Alex had said, calling them 'puntables.'
Thinking of this and being grateful that the only small creature at home was a flying dragonette, Zul wondered if LuLu had any such animals in her home. For some reason, it was easy to envision her snuggled up to something cute and cuddly and...puntable. "Does LuLu have pets?" he inquired as they idly floated down the sidewalk, his mind turning back to the bunny and his curiosity to her life, carefully adjusting the flower she'd placed in his hair. His attention span was proving to be seconds at best.

LuLu spoke curtly, “I do not.” She then fluttered around Zul like a butterfly caught on the summer breeze, swirling around and paying a visit to every flower that lined their path. The rabbit paused every so often to watch Zul as well. She would peer back at him with her large, purple orbs. The frei would then follow his own gaze until she had spotted just what he was looking at. It was a new game she had just now invented and it was proving to be difficult given Zul’s lack of attentiveness; or perhaps, because he had chosen to give his attention to EVERYTHING. His eyes were swishing around everywhere and LuLu had no chance to focus on any one object he was observing. That is, until he eyes stopped for a few brief seconds, locked on a truck. The bunny’s ears perked. She spoke softly, “Do you know that monster?” The word ‘car’ had eluded her.

Zul thought for a moment to the answer of his question. It seemed such a shame that she was without a small, furry companion. "That's..." What was the word he was looking for...? Ah, yes. "...criminal." He made a mental note, amongst his observations, to bring Lorenzo with him next time. The demon was fairly certain that LuLu would enjoy the affectionate dragonette.
Indeed, he did pause as he caught sight of the sleek, large vehicle that served as his woman's mode of transportation. Blue eyes finally turned back to the Bunny Frei and there they lingered, a smile tugging at his lips. "Is my woman's," he voiced his thoughts, "she is there." A tan arm lifted, a small bit of ash falling from his glove again as he pointed a long finger at the house the vehicle was parked in front of.
No sooner did he indicate the home did the door open, Alex within its frame. She hadn't seen them yet, judging by the way she was smiling and chatting with someone that couldn't yet be seen, but Zul knew it meant she was done with the harness fitting. His smile melted just a touch; he didn't really want to leave his friend so soon. The Frei failed to notice that the sun had traversed the sky quite a bit in his time with LuLu. "We can take you home." The words were a little dull, unable to completely smoother his lack of satisfaction with the outcome of their 'brief' time together.

LuLu parroted at the demonic frei, "Criminal?" She cooed the word again softly before she chimed, "What is it?" She waited for the answer patiently. In the meantime, her fingers danced idly over another fragile Spring blossom. It was strikingly similar to the one in Zul's hair, like a twin sister. For a moment she contemplated taking it for herself.
However, LuLu was soon distracted from the vivid bloom by Zul's arm raising into the air. It directed her vision across the street once again towards the truck. The rabbit's lips parted onto a curious gape. She floated forward. Her arms stretched upwards and curled around her companion's poised limb. The frei brought the sun kissed appendage to her chest and tugged Zul along, "Can we see her?"
The notion that she would be going home soon had not fully crossed her mind. Though, what part had settled with LuLu had left an empty feeling in her chest. Being separated from Zul felt akin to loosing a part of herself. LuLu had to be reunited with Josh, it was inevitable. Yet, that would not stop the rabbit from savoring her last moments with Zul... and perhaps asking his guardian for another play date.
