Taking another long drink from the coffee mug, Isi tried his best to keep his mind on the topic at hand. It was hard to sit in the seat when he felt the need to give Eiry a dose of Nyquil and make sure that he was out of commission before he could really relax in the company of a friend. Now, he was just worried and anticipating what chaos Eiry might bring about next. It always worked out that way. If they weren't currently interacting with Eiry, then he was bound to do something to entertain himself, which usually involved eggs, string, or copious amounts of petroleum jelly.

"Honestly," Isi said in weary reply, "I haven't been able to reign Eiry in, so I don't know how much help I'd be if LuLu became troublesome. You're welcome to come share your woes, though, and perhaps bash heads for ideas." As Josh continued, Isi tilted his head, listening in, "Yeah, I'm really glad he does, because it gives him plenty to eat." Isi shifted in his seat, crossing his weak ankles and uncrossing them.

"Well, at least she's getting constant attention instead of none at all." The boy, leaned forward and put his finished mug on the coffee table. He had done away with the drink fairly quickly, a sign of his nervousness. "Other powers? Um..." Isi took a moment to think, glancing at his brother for help, "He can become intangible...But so far that's all the abilities that I've seen from him. He may yet have more as he grows. Being able to bring plants back to life, like he does, is a side effect from absorbing the death from them. I'm sure though that he'll develop something else later on."

Drifting through the house, Eiry passed through the walls, checking the upper levels of the home for a certain something. He leaned into his own bedroom and found that the animal he was looking for wasn't there. Eiry went through the rest of the walls, ran into Yvette, the second floor's female ghost, and made his way to Rivener's bedroom. What he was looking for would certainly have to be in there...

"Beauregard?" Eiry said aloud, looking around his brother's array of things. "Beauuuuureegaaaard...?" For a moment there wasn't any movement save the willow tree outside of Rivener's window, but at length a familiar balloon lump of red floated up from the covers of the bed. The groggy looking whale's bow tie was all skewed from sleeping and he blinked his eyes at Eiry.

"Beau Beau!" The minty raevan exclaimed happily. He floated over and scooped the whale up into his arms, "Come, come! What melodies can you voiceweave for us today?"

The whale crooned and hummed a couple chords in a warbly tone.

"Beautiful! Astounding!" piped Eiry happily, he hugged the whale tight and drifted out of his brother's bedroom.

LuLu took Riv’s smiling and chuckling as a good sign. So he approved of her idea. The rabbit frei felt a swell of pride in her chest as the two continued their stealthy plotting. Only one thing now threw her off. A paper bag. What good would that do? Sure, she had seen the device before; however, its usefulness ended at being an appropriate vessel for her lunch. Could the small receptacle really be powerful enough to stop Eiry and his diabolical schemes? Lulu had her doubts. “No. How does it work?” She looked up at the older raevan with a confused expression, her eyebrows knitted together pared with a subtle pout. She hoped this would coerce him into providing an answer before they began to put their plan into motion.

LuLu jumped a little in fright when a distressed exclamation escaped Riv’s lips. Once she peered back and found Eiry’s previous location vacant she knew the implications of that gasp. Oh no! Eiry was already on the move. LuLu frowned then followed closely behind the scorpion raevan. They had to act fast!

As they floated by the living room LuLu noticed that the humans were all caught up in their own business. Good, they would not disturb their plan to dethrone the prank king.

Josh set his drink on the coffee table as he listened to Isi. Once again, he took his comfortable position on the sofa. “You are already coming up with great ideas if your house is still in one piece,” he laughed lightly at his own joke and continued, “Though, two heads are better than one and all.” Josh noticed Isi’s nervous fidgeting. His legs crossed every so often or he took a tentative sip from his cup. Eiry had changed so much, but Isi still seemed to be just as nervous as the last time they had met. “Attention is good. I just hope that it won’t go to her head is all…” Josh’s sentence trailed off as his auburn eyes flicked to the side.

The boy peeked over at Aphi who seemed to be quietly giving his attention to them. Surely he must have been bored just listening to them drone on. Josh spared the white haired man a smile and drew him into the conversation, “You can join in too. I do not think Isi would mind. Plus, I enjoy meeting new people. Your raevan is Rivener?”

Rivener didn't speak while they crossed the living room, for fear of his voice attracting the guardians' attention. Like Lulu, he didn't want anyone interrupting them mid-quest. Thankfully they passed that gauntlet soon enough and the pair of floating half-bodies found themselves in the kitchen, where Riv could finally turn and answer. He kept his voice low, releasing Lulu's hand and floating ahead to rifle through drawers in search of the item they needed.

"How you do it is: you scrunch up the edges of the bag so that it seals around your mouth, then you blow air inside. It puffs up like a brown paper balloon! Then you hold the one end closed with your hand, and with the other hand you go CLAP!" Riv demonstrated slowly and quietly, bringing both hands together for a moment, pausing in his search. "The paper balloon explodes with a bang! It's really loud... Ahah! Here we are!"

The Scorpion lifted out a lunch bag from one of the many drawers lining the counter, grinning. "Now all we have to do is FIND the little bugger... We should keep the paper balloon blown up the whole way. You do it like this, see?"

Riv brought the bag to his lips and blew, then held it out with the end part tightly closed, showing it to the girl. He then opened it and aired it out, shaking the thing to get all traces of his breath out. "You want to be the one to do it?" Riv asked, for some reason knowing that the bunny would enjoy having that responsibility. He handed the bag over. "Be ready to pop it when we find him!"

Aphismet shook his head softly at himself, watching both boys. They seemed to be in a competition about whose Raevan would be the more trouble. It was rather entertaining, but a little worrisome; Eiry could be a pain, and if Lulu turned out the same way it would be a problem, wouldn't it? Surely that lovely little thing wouldn't end up like that, she was so sweet...

Aphi was about to get up and fetch Isi a refill for his coffee when Josh spoke to him, startling the chef. "Ah? ...Oh, I don't mind not saying anything. It's nice to see Isi being so talkative for once without biting anyone's head off. Uhm, yes, my Raevan is Rivener... I don't know what else I could tell you about him." Aphi ran a hand through his hair, smiling sheepishly. He didn't quite know what to say. "He's a Sigel, and since he grew up he's become much more... I don't know, manageable? He's somewhat responsible now, it seems. So I think that Lulu should be alright as long as she's with him."

Brown eyes darted over to Isi for a second. "Although lately I'm getting the impression that Eiry listens to him less and less. Maybe he doesn't like Sigels? Or more likely Eiry is close to being a Sigel himself? ...Ugh, no offense Isi, but a Sigel Eiry makes me very afraid..."

Petting the whale in his arms and feeling the rubbery skin with his cold fingers, Eiry drifted around the second floor of the Delaran home. The whale's skin as dry, more dry than usual for a whale that floated about in the air instead of bob in the water.

"Poor hide stretches underneath mine finger tips. Needs you drink, Beau Beau? Needs us some water?" Eiry asked the whale, craning his head to the side to peer at his friend. The red whale crooned, wiggling a bit in the frei's arms. Taking that as a big enthusiastic whale version of "oh, yes, please", Eiry whisked the whale into the nearest bathroom, drifting through the door. He didn't bother to open the door.

Setting the whale on the counter on top of a towel, Eiry leaned over the sink and adjusted the faucets, letting them run with water until he found a temperature suitable for the whale's liking. As he tested the water with his fingers, he leaned his elbows against the tile countertop, glancing at himself through the mirror and then to Beauregard. "Just you and me," he told his small friend, "You and I."

"Hey!" Isi yelped indignantly at Aphismet's reference towards his usually belligerent way of speaking with others. "I don't always bite people's heads off. You make me seem like a crotchety 85 year old or something even less pleasant." He paused in his fiery defense and, for a few moments, thought. What a curious notion.

"Eiry as a sigel," Isi echoed, his eyes widening as he realized the inevitable growth of his dear bouncy ward. His irritation quickly simmered over, melting into thought and whimsy. "That is quite a frightening thought, isn't it? Well, yeah. Eiry doesn't listen to anyone really anymore. Not like he used to. Eiry used to cling to Rivener every moment of the day, sleeping in his own bed with him and following him around the house. He doesn't do that as much anymore. Occasionally he sleeps in Riv's bedroom, but that's only if he isn't feeling well or if he's somehow managed to frighten himself with household appliances. I hope that Eiry matures a bit. Rivener's become quite the mature sigel. He's responsible and he doesn't cause much of a fuss. Rivener's very well. I'm proud of him."

LuLu greedily snatched up the bag from Rivener. “Yes.” She examined the paper device in awe. This small bag held the promise to gain revenge on Eiry. She fluttered with joy. The female frei’s hand reached out to gently trace over the ruffled creases that Riv had put into the bag with his previous handling. She then brought it to her parted lips and attempt to reproduce the same effect that her sigel counterpart had made. As she blew into the bag, her tanned cheeks gained a pink tinge from the unfamiliar exertion. LuLu paused for a moment to recollect her breath. This was more difficult that she thought it would be!

LuLu glanced down at the bag again and noticed that its structure was slowing deflating and caving in on itself. The rabbit frei gasped in terror. The bag was broken! LuLu frowned and pressed it once more to her lips. She gave a few fierce blows in an attempt to form the bag into the round shape she desired. Her cheeks colored into a labored red. LuLu took the bag from her mouth when she was satisfied with the results. Ah-ha! She knew that that the bag could not be broken already. She had just gotten it after all.

However, in a matter of seconds, the bag was shrinking away and emptying of its air. LuLu felt her chances of pranking Eiry fading along with it. What had she done wrong? The frei thought over Riv’s instructions carefully. As a precaution she even mumbled a few to herself to make sure she did not skip over anything.

“Get bag… Breathe… Hold it tight… Pop it”
The words ghosted off her lips.

LuLu emitted the tiniest squeak when she realized of what she had done wrong. The raevan took a closer look at her grip on the bag and noticed it was quite lacking. The frei refilled the bag with air and this time made sure she had the firm grip that Rivener had requested. LuLu waited for a few tense seconds. The bag did not deflate. LuLu looked up at Rivener with a prideful smile and took his hand once more, “Ready.”

Josh glanced ay Aphi then gave him a pleasant smile. “That is good. LuLu needs to meet a few more mature raevans. I’m sure it will do her well if they brushed off on her a bit.” The boy stopped when he heard mention of sigels once more. So, Eiry was close to being a sigel himself then. Josh thought back to LuLu and her own antics. She seemed very far from the maturity that Riv had or the independence that Eiry possessed. He wondered just how she would act once she took that step towards being a sigel. That was a scary thought too.

Josh jumped slightly at Isi sudden exclamation. For a boy who denied his irritability, he was doing it in a very snappy way. Josh couldn’t help but give a small chuckle before he sipped at his water and set it down again. He piped up, “Those both seem like very dramatic changes. What else is different when a raevan become a sigel?” Josh wasn't sure how well the two guardians sitting across from could answer this question; both their raevans seemed to have out grown them a bit. He concluded that it was a question worth asking though.

Riv watched the rabbit frei struggle with the concept of the paper balloon, blowing it up only for the thing to deflate almost right away. She looked so focused that the Scorpion had the definite impression his continued coaching wouldn't be appreciated, and so he simply crossed his arms and waited with an amused smirk on his lips.

Once, twice Lulu tried it and failed, reminding herself of the steps out loud and trying again with much more success, announcing that she was ready. Chuckling softly, Riv uncrossed his arms and motioned for her to follow him. "I'm not really sure where he went, so we'll have to look... Be very quiet!"

Rivener peered first into the living room, careful not to let the humans see them; stars knew they wouldn't approve of what the two Raevans were trying to do. Sneakily Riv headed to the stairs, floating quietly to the second storey landing... Ah, was that the water running? Turning red eyes towards the bathroom, Riv inched closer, waving his hand at Lulu in an attempt to tell her without words "this is it!" For a second the Sigel pressed his long, tapered ear to the door, listening.

Beau-beau was in there, humming a little. And Riv could have sworn he heard Eiry say something... So he WAS in here! Grinning over at Lulu, Riv knocked on the door. "Eiry?" he called, trying to lure the Minty frei out so Lulu could enact her revenge.

Aphismet laughed at Isi's reaction to the elder Delaran's teasing. He was pretty much proving Aphi's point by barking like that. The conversation then turned over to Sigels, and how mature Rivener seemed to become. He still had his moments of childishness (one of which was occurring at that very moment, unbeknown to the guardians), but overall the Scorpion had mellowed out quite a bit.

"Hopefully your Lulu will grow out of her trouble-making period soon. Rivener was such a pain when he was first born; I think all Raevans go through that stage. And apart for the maturity, there's also the obvious physical change... That longer torso, all the way to his hips now. And, also, everything else seemed to have changed: his hair was different, his clothes were different, his wings... it was quite a shock."

Aphi wasn't about to admit that he'd fainted at the shock of it, but his cheeks did color a bit in shame at the memory. "Ohh, Lulu would be so pretty as a Sigel, though: she's simply adorable already!" The chef grinned.

Once the sink had filled up to a point where Beau could settle in it comfortably, Eiry smiled satisfied with his work. He lifted the small red whale in his arms, tickling underneath his chin. "Ready now! In you go," he said, giving a twirl before placing the squirmy whale into the water. Beauregard splashed a bit, trying to sink himself into the water as much as possible, giving happy hums and thrums. Eiry chuckled. He had many pets, and taking care of them, tending to their needs, always made him happy. Glancing around, he moved over to the window to open it, pushing against it's frame so that it slid up after a couple forced pushes from the minty raevan.

"Damn thing," Eiry muttered, "So old and weary this thing is!"

Then he heard someone knock on the door. Raising his brows, Eiry fluttered his wings so that he was back at the sink. Beauregard was having trouble getting water onto his back. "Hullo hullo," the frei answered to his brother as he gently helped wash the red whale, "Come in." Beauregard gave a happy squeal, prompting another chuckle from Eiry.

Isi chose that time to lean over and place his mug on the coffee table. Leaning his elbows on his knees, the boy listened again to the conversation, quickly quelling himself into serenity once again. He remembered the first couple of times he met with Rivener. At first, the frei was fine with him, but after they became a family, things took a turn for the worst. But, thankfully, they were much closer now and quite fine with each other. Isi rather liked having someone to watch scary movies with.

"It's strange how much they change over time," Isi agreed, "I'm sure your Lulu will go through huge changes before she ever becomes a sigel! And just think, it'll all happen so fast, we'll hardly have noticed."

LuLu followed Rivener diligently like a trained animal. She made calculated movements alongside him and mimicked every minute gesture until they made their way to the stairs. She also had the paper bag held tightly in her hand. Every so often, she would fret with it in an attempt to keep it as full as possible. The duo floated up the stairs slowly, step by step. LuLu’s ribbon drug and rippled across each step as they ascended higher. The trip was weary and both raevan’s were on edge.

LuLu heard the water running long before the swarthy sigel in front of her. Her two ears weren’t just meant as funky head decor. They actually served a purpose in this instance. Behind the door the female frei heard water. She also picked up on the gentle splashing coming from the sink. Lastly, the fluffy amplifiers on her head picked up on Eiry’s calm breathing and lax response. This was the perfect time to strike!

LuLu squirmed past Rivener and took her spot behind the door. She collected herself in a few seconds; mainly, she made sure the bag was still filled. Soon, she slammed open the door and lunged for the minty villain who loomed on the other side of it. Like a fine tuned predator she flitted quickly across the small bathroom. Her thin, brown arms raised themselves to the heavens and she stopped just short of Eiry. The bag just met his nose. A gush of air and an eruption of sound exploded into the green frei’s face.

LuLu had closed her eyes tightly against the onslaught of noise. She only dared open them to see Eiry’s expression.

Josh listened intently two the other guardians. He was shocked at just how much more experienced they seemed. It put him to shame. Though, the boy did have a pang of fatherly worry at the mention of LuLu’s beauty. It never really occurred to him the likeliness that other could find her attractive. Of course, she was cute. Petty even. But beautiful? That idea rubbed Josh the wrong way. With the mindset of a seven year old and the body of a twenty year old, LuLu could be deemed the perfect ‘***** bait’.

Josh cringed further at the idea that LuLu would develop even more in time. “Yeah, changes…” The word was bittersweet on his tongue.

Rivener had been more than disappointed that Eiry wasn't opening the door, instead calling for them to come inside. The Scorpion wasn't so sure that would work, and he was trying to think of something to say that would force the minty frei out when the cute, fuzzy little thing at his side decided to take the situation in hand.

Riv watched with raised eyebrows as Lulu burst into the room like she owned the place, floating right up to Eiry brandishing that bag and -*POP!*- exploding it right in the Will-o-wisp's face. Beauregard was in the sink, probably an innocent casualty of the joke-war. With wide eyes, Rivener watched and waited for the reaction. Lulu had done it perfectly: now how would Eiry react to a dose of his own medicine?

Aphismet chuckled sheepishly at Josh's demeanor. The boy seemed a little taken aback. "Ah, don't feel daunted, Josh. It'll all just happen on its own. Just be there for her, and everything will be good! Keep her fed, keep her happy, listen to her needs... I didn't do much of that last one myself, that's probably why Riv was such a-... a jerk before." The white-haired man's eyes slipped to Isi for a second before turning back to Josh.

"If you ever have anything to ask, I'm sure Isi or I will be able to answer. And of course anytime you want to visit again... It's actually a relief to see people coming here to see Isikoro." Aphismet chuckled again, needling his brother.

"Hey," Isi grunted again, shifting his leg so that it lay across the other. Conspiculously massaging his ankles, the lad gave a playful glare to his brother. He knew that Aphismet was just teasing, but then again, he was right. No one really came over to say hello to Isikoro. Most of the time it was for Aphi, and Isi was the person standing around in the house that required a greeting when guests came over. This fact didn't really bother Isi, though. In fact, he hardly ever thought f it, nonetheless think about what guests he should invite over for the weekend. It was just a built in trait of his to be a bit antisocial, and Isi had no qualms with that.

Yes, Josh," he continued again, changing subjects, "Any questions at all, Aphi and I would be happy to help with what we ca-"

POP!

"AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAACH!!! AAH! AAAH!!"

Given hardly any time to turn, Eiry jumped terribly when the racous blast of sound hit his sensitive ears. His wings of ethereal flame spluttered and he threw himself to the side of the wall, releasing his slippery grip on Beauregard. The whale, like Eiry, also jumped and screamed, echoing Eiry's cry for his own, and with a panicked flapping of his tail, rocketed to the different corners of the bathroom. The red whale knocked over the soap and vase in the bathroom, careened into the shower curtain and, in his wild struggle, promptly tore it off the shower rings. Eiry, in his shock, instinctively went intangible, so he was able to escape the reckless thrashing of the red whale.

In the midst of the shock, Eiry was able to open his eyes and glare at the attacker. When his eyes focused on Lulu, his face twisted into an ugly scowl.

"YOU!!" he growled, his voice warped with anger. Taking his glance away for a second, he snagged the thrashing whale from the torn shower curtains and held him firm in his arms. Eiry advanced to Lulu, floating over her, his face a terrible thing to behold, "I...HATE YOU!"

Then with a pump of his wings, Eiry lunged forward and pushed Lulu as hard as he could with an arm. With another scowl and a sniff, Eiry lifted himself up and zoomed into the ceiling, disappearing from view.

"What was that?" Isi exclaimed, shifting in his seat to look at the stairs where the shouting came from.

Josh chuckled, “I would be happy to visit again.” He shot Isi a smile before he continued, “I am sure LuLu would not mind another visit either.” As if on cue…

“AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!!!”

Josh jumped up from the couch with a fright. The boy’s leg hit the coffee table gracelessly. He successfully knocked his water onto his feet. His head spun towards the staircase that led to the second floor and where the scream had come from. He gave one last glance at the Delarian brothers before he bolted towards the staircase.

LuLu had no time to relish her victory of the minty frei. Just as quickly as she had popped the bag, a new conflict arose. She ducked to the ground as a red whale hurled itself at her face. The girl’s tan arms braced over her head as she protected herself against a shattering vase and a wayward soap dish. Both objects clattered and splintered dangerously close to her bare skin. She looked up just in time to catch sight of the hazardous crimson blur careening into the shower. The pole supporting the flimsy shower curtain gave way along with the duck patterned plastic.

LuLu ‘hopped’ up to avoid the metal pipe as it connected with the tile. A metallic clang cut through the air. The sound rung clearly in her furry ears even when the pole had settled. This sound was much worse than anything her bag could produce. The rabbit frei nearly floated headfirst into Eiry while trying to avoid the various noises that had suddenly exploded in the room.

A fearsome lavender stare met with Eiry’s scathing red glare. LuLu could almost feel the intensity of his scowl. They were mere inches from each other and it was the ghostly frei who closed the distance between them. Eiry’s voice boomed above LuLu. She shrank backwards as his cold hands met with her shoulders in a brutal show of strength. The female raevan tumbled backwards and hit the ground. Her hands reached back to brace herself. She was rewarded with two fistfuls of broken glass. The raevan released a shrill squeak of pain as Eiry vanish into the ceiling.

She cradled her wounds as she looked to Riv for some kind of comfort. Her palms were dribbling a thin red stream down her arms. It collected in the folds of her dress. “I… hate… him too,” She mumbled between whimpers.

Aphismet grinned at Isi's expression, chuckling. The white-haired chef nodded along with his brother's offer to help with any questions when suddenly all hell broke loose upstairs. The chef startled in his seat and looked up at the stairs, expecting to see a mountain of books falling or some other prank Eiry might have set up... Only no, it sounded like Eiry was screaming? "What in the hell is going on up there?" Aphi asked, getting to his feet.

Rivener's expression had changed from pleased to shocked. The plan had gone on perfectly, with Lulu startling the hell out of Eiry, but everything afterwards had been an utter nightmare. Eiry screamed and jumped and Beaubeau jumped the other way and Lulu was nearly on the floor ducking things that were flying and flinging around, and the shower curtain was falling and the shower rod too... Riv lifted a strong wing to deflect anything that might hit him, and then suddenly, just like that, the cacophony ended.

Rivener only had time to lower his wing when a whole new cacophony began: this time in the form of an angry ghost-frei who scowled and screamed, turning all his anger towards Lulu. Rivener bristled, frowning with mouth agape. Ohhhh, so it's not so fun being on the receiving end of your annoying pranks, IS IT? Eiry zoomed past then, shoving Lulu to the ground and injuring her hands on the broken glass, disappearing into the upstairs an instant later.

With a faint growl of anger Rivener hurried to lower himself down, slipping hands gently under the bunny-girl's shoulders and picking her up off the ground. "Shh, shhh, it's alright Lulu. I'm sorry about that, it's all my fault. I shouldn't have told you to do that, I didn't know he'd be such a BRAT about it. C'mon, let's have a look at your hands, okay?" Cradling the girl close, Rivener guided her towards the stairs. As much as he knew he'd get yelled at for letting this happen (Hell, for instigating it!), Riv knew the guardians would be much better able to treat her wounds. "It doesn't look all that bad, Lulu. There there." He petted her hair softly.

"Rivener! What happ- OH MY GOD."
Aphi was standing at the bottom of the stairs, glaring up at the Scorpion as he escorted the girl. It hadn't taken long for the chef to notice the blood... "Bring her down here, hurry up! Isi, can you get the first aid kit please, from the kitchen?" Aphismet felt awful. Josh would HATE them!

"JUST what I ******** NEED right now!" Isi grumpily cursed as all chaos seemed to break lose about him. Josh had knocked over water, bumped his knee against the table, knocked over Isi's (thankfully empty) coffee mug, Aphismet scrambled up and (in a accustomed manner) flew to the base of the stairs without a moment to waste, and in the meanwhile, Isi was having a hard time getting his legs underneath him in the first place. It only took a few stumbles before Isi was planted behind Aphismet, using the chef's waist to hold himself up.

"Isi, can you get the first aid kit please, from the kitchen?" Aphismet asked.

With a roll of his eyes, Isi released his grip on Aphi's waist and made his way over to the kitchen, gravitating towards the walls so he could hold himself up as he walked hastily to the cabinets, silently cursing the problematic tendencies their life seemed to bring them the whole way. He gutted the cabinets, found the first aid kit, and hobbled back to the living room.

"What in the bloody hell happened?" Isi asked aloud angrily, "And where's Eiry? I heard him scream."

LuLu whimpered, playing the pity card for all it was worth. The small rabbit raevan curled up into Rivener’s arm and basked in the attention he was lavishing on her. Her fingers entwined in his crimson locks. She whisked away the last remaining tears on her cheeks with the collar of Riv’s jacket. The spikes and harsh patterns the scorpion was adorned with were at one time threatening. Now they became an obscure comfort to LuLu. There was a dull throbbing in her palms but the apologetic words and gentle touches had served to alleviate the minor pain.

Josh had barreled up the staircase just in time to almost ram head first into the red and black hued raevan. The boy stumbled backward and nearly tumbled down the flight he had just leapt up. His heels rested on the top step and swayed until he regained his balance. Auburn eyes scanned the scene he was confronted with. Josh saw LuLu in Rivener’s grasp. A few scarlet speckles adorned her sundress, they were almost lost in the red folds. The tears in her eyes were almost gone as well.

However, a fire lit now in Josh and a rage burned. The boy growled, “H-holy crap!” The expletive tumbled out before he could stop it. Josh rushed forward and peeled the girl from the scorpion raevan’s chest. The rabbit gave a slight protest before she attached herself to her guardian. He gently grasped he palm and turned it upward to examine the gouges on her hands. Small bits of glass still clung on one. Josh’s fierce brown eyes met Riverner’s, “What happened?!”

Aphismet hung back from their guest, who ran up the stairs to find Lulu in Riv's arms, the Scorpion in the process of carrying the girl down... Aphi's face turned ashen at the tone of Josh's voice, the chef's embarrassment complete. Why did Rivener have to cause destruction everywhere he went? They'd be having a BIG talk once Josh and Lulu left!!

Rivener had been enjoying Lulu clutching at him like that. It fulfilled the part of him that liked to protect something, and his smile might have been a little out of place as the pair of floating half-bodies rounded the landing and were met with Josh.

The man hurried to pry Lulu from Riv's grip, the Scorpion half-growling in protest but relenting his grasp: Josh WAS Lulu's guardian after all, and after a moment of trying to hold onto the Sigel, Lulu did indeed turn to clasp Josh. Then came the demand for What Happened. Rivener sighed and rolled his eyes, although his posture spoke of guilt.

"We played a trick on Eiry to get him back from the waterballoon thing earlier... And well, Eiry was REALLY startled and broke some stuff in the bathroom upstairs as he recoiled. Then he kinda shoved Lulu to the floor and she cut her hands a bit on the glass... I'm sorry, it was all my fault, it was my idea. Poor Lulu didn't do anything wrong." Riv reached forward to try and pet one of the soft, pale ears in consolation, offering the girl a small apologetic smile. He knew he might get in trouble, but so be it. He'd told the truth, at least.
