The female dog was thrown back. "Mau-" She was cut off as the male started out the mouth of the den with pup in mouth. Expereated and paniced, Nafsi grabbed the closest pup to her. "Mauja!" She called out, her voice muffled by the squalling pup in her mouth. "What am I supposed to do with it?"
Breathing heavily, the tall cheetah kept running until he found a soft mound about two hundred feet away from the den. "There we go." he smiled as he gently set the terrified pup down on the top of the mound, looking up at Nafsi with a grin. "Now wasn't that fun?" he started to walk away from the pup, motioning for Nafsi to follow, so the mother doesn't find them and want a fight.
Curling up in the tall grass, Mauja nestled his head between his two front paws, staring up at Nafsi longingly.

"It was terrifying," Nafsi said as she sat down the pup. She followed the cheetah away from the scene of the crime.
Nafsi was looking up at the starlit sky. She didn't notice the longing expression of the cheetah - not really. It made her feel strange on the inside, his eyes on her. She didn't want to confront it - she was scared. This creature, he made her feel odd on the inside.
"Was it really that scary?" Mauja moved in closer, wrapping his tail around her leg, his eyes never wavering. "I thought it was fun." he blinked dramatically, moving his eyes up and down the lioness' frame; she appeared a little shaken, but it was good for her, he thought.

"A... little," She told him - it was truly frightening. "I'm not used to doing things such as," She said softly, finally looking down at Mauja. She was indeed still shaken. From where they were, something could have come and eaten one of the pups after they had left - she hoped they were fine though.
"Well, then it's a good thing. New experiences are good for you, I think." he moved over right next to Nafsi, laying his head on her paws. "Don't feel too bad; not many would be able to do that and be fine about it the first time." he laughed a little; Mauja himself had always been fine with it.
Raising himself, Mauja looked at Nafsi, smiling wickedly. He lifted his paws and shoved her over onto her side, then sprawled himself over her stomach, using her as a cushion.

She didn't comment, not even when she was rolled her her side, though she gave a light stretch and and deep breath. "So what happens after this, Mauja?" She questioned. Was he going to leave her in the morning? Would she follow? She was so confused.
"Whatever you want to happen." he gazed up at the stars, longing to be able to soar through them. He rolled his head over so he was looking directly at Nafsi. He ran his paw in circles on her stomach, making small swirls in her fur. "Would you want me to stay? Do you want to follow me?" he smiled. "It's all up to you, babe." he licked the spot where his paw had been making patterns gently.

Her body was shaking slightly - she had never been faced with such a descision. "I don't know... M-may I have time to answer you, Mauja?" She asked softly, in a whisper. She didn't even know if he had heard her.
Mauja closed his eyes and sighed. "Til morning." he whispered under his breath "then I'll make your decision for you." he leaned in close to her and licked her cheeck, then returned to his spot on her stomach.
"Alright,' Nafsi whispered back softly and closed her eyes with the intent to sleep. The warm head on her belly coaxed her into a deep sleep ratehr quickly - she knew she'd wake up early... to think.
