Have a great trip! Go in peace, and return in peace and safety.
My ancestry's a very mixed, weird collection. My maiden name is one that came into Ellis Island exclusively by Jews -- there were NO records of any non-Jews coming through Ellis Island with that name or its cognates. (Cognates are like Smith, Smit, Schmidt, Smythe... you get the idea.) I'm not 100% certain of the meaning, but I do know that there is an Egyptian god named something which sounds VERY similar, and there are several Arab families AND Russian/Ukranian families who carry the name. I don't know if that's just a coincidence that means nothing -- like the German word "Hut" which means "hat" and the English word "hut" which means "little house" -- but it's kind of neat, I think.
My married name is one that is carried only by two groups of people: the Jews who settled in the town of that name (by far the most common in modern times, which is to say since about the 1700s -- I guess we prospered in that area), and the non-Jews who were also from that town. It means "stonecutter/mason/sculptor."

ALRIGHT, EVERYBODY! I HAVE RETURN-ED! I had a great 5 day trip. I was going to stay off here longer because I didn't know if I was missed and I'm leaving again soon for Pesach, but whatever. I'm here.
I faced heights of great extremes, with much crying and halnd- holding. My hotle room had to be moved around in a full hotel to end up with a handicap0 accessible room on the ground floor. crying
I learned a lot of history. whee
I said 'I really dig that birthday' in a graveyard. xp
I got closer to my rabbi mentor. biggrin
I wore a kippah in a church. Crosses and Crucifixes make me uncomfotrable. rofl
I had goooood pizza. 3nodding
I had a minor meltdown. gonk I was just fine with a Holocast museum and wasn't even sad until I realised how wrong it was not even to be upset with being okay with that. stressed Ya follow? I went to a Holocaust Museum and was not sad about it. And I wasn't even sad about not being sad about it. I was sad only about not even being sad about not being sad. My rabbi says no big deal, but all the good Jews cried.
I saw a great play. blaugh
I ostracized my friend past the point when he cried. sad
I started playing head games with people for enjoyment and ended up with people lined up for me to turn simple statements around to make people look bad. 'Dogs can talk' became a sign of Communism and no one even doubted my train of spin doctoring. ninja
I met a nice girl. mrgreen

B"H Hey all, have not been on in a real long time and thought I would steal a few moments before Shabbos started. How is everyone?

Very arrogant and vain lately, and also I've been feeling more since my trip.

So arrogant that I had the nerve to blame it on my friend without guilt.
So arrogant that I can even take pride in my own arrogance.
So arrogant I won't even ask how you've been. Whoops. Go ahead.

Care to explain about the last two pictures? And, hopefully, you can go into more detail about your trip!
