Let the others handle it?! ... Wonderful. Gritting teeth slightly, Zach glanced at Nash. "I don't supposed you know any cool magical s**t to get it to leave?" he asked - though he didn't really expect that the other student did.
He couldn't think of anything like that himself, after all. But then, that wasn't saying much, since he hadn't gotten too far in his classes yet. Frowning, he thought about their options.
They were unlikely to be able to scare the dog away and if it was aggressive, it would attack any of them that got close. So that left... luring it off with something. "You said you had some dried fruit, Cole..? Got anything else that a dog might like?"
Digging around in his own bag, he came up with some slightly squished sweet cakes and dried fruit of his own, as well as some candy. "I dunno if this would work, but maybe we can lure it away with food..."

To say that Nash was a bit apprehensive was an understatement but thankfully they managed to get through the fog without incident. Only to come across a lake and ... a dog? A dog. He sighed thankful for this slightly annoying task. At least magic wasn't a big factor in removing this animal...
Nash gave a slight chuckle turning to Zach as he pulled out the food from his pack. "We won't need magic for this but maybe some of these snacks might help." Though they probably should save the food for their group. Thankfully, Nash was all but missing food. He loved it too much that it was certain he had enough for all of them and possibly a football team. He gave a soft laugh as he moved over to the dog keeping a safe distance away.
"Um... want these fella? Snacks for you if you let us have the boat." Oh by gods! Was he talking to the grumpy mutt? Even so they needed that boat or it was a long trek around the lake.

When Weiyuan went infront of him, he felt safer but still, his legs seemed glued down to the ground. "I ... I will..." he stuttered a little and stared at the dog. When the other student Zach spoke to him, Cole quickly got onto his knees and searched his bag for anything that a dog might like. "Well, I've got some dried prunes, raisins, dried mango ... and some beef jerky". Cole looked up though when he heard Nash took snacks out of his bag. "Well, I guess mine can be the spares incase we need anymore" he sighed.
Seems like all Cole could do was to stand there and watch. It's unfortunate that he had to be in this situation and be deemed as useless by others. Why the hell was there a dog there anyway?

"Well... uh," Zach said, blinking as Nash moved toward the dog without really a second thought. Good that they only had one person afraid of dogs. Hopefully nothing bad would happen.
"We should figure out which way we're gonna go across the lake..." he pointed out, looking at the others which Nash tried to lure the dog away. "We can go north or west... either way looks about the same."
Frowning, he eyed what they could see of the shorelines from here - not sure what to pick.

*CHOMP*
So much for the dog. Stupid mutt didn't seem big on snacks or treats and even began growling as Nash stepped away holding his bitten hand. With a sigh he stood there glaring at the beast but held out his hand anyway. "We're not here to hurt you..." He confirmed the dog barking softly then moving away with weary eyes.
It was then he noticed some of the dogs tattered fur. "Hm?" Moving closer again the dog warned him away with growls and barks but Nash ignored them stepping up to the dog to venture petting him. "Hey there I said I wouldn't hurt you come here... what's with your coat?" He questioned trying to get the dog used to him he noticed that the poor thing had been neglected out here for a while. The harsh weather had done a number on the thing despite having a think coating for this kind of climate. "Poor thing... where's your master?" Nash wondered, with the food he had in his good hand he set them down for the dog to inspect. Maybe he would understand now and let them pass using the boat.
Stepping away Nash returned to the group giving a sheepish grin. "I got bitten. I don't know if he'll give up the boat but maybe we should start going around the lack to make up some time..." Crap getting bitten by a dog was the last thing on Nash had wanted. They needed to hurry to safe territory so he could have it looked at least that thing have rabies or some other disease.

"Holy crap" was what came out of Cole's mouth when he say the dog burying his teeth into Nash's hand.
With mouth widen, Cole stood there and continued to stare. The one student that was brave enough to go forward didn't managed to even move the dog a little and he got himself bitten. This was bad, especially since they had no idea what the dog might have and the boy might get some infectious disease. When the other student came back, he stepped foward a little and took a look at Nash's hand. "That looks bad." he shook his head and looked about "We need to get out of this place fast." Well, duh. Mr. Obvious.

The food was a smart idea but obviously not against an aggressive dog. He winced a bit, just knowing that had to hurt. It probably would be best to just leave it alone they could pick up more time as they went along but anymore injuries could slow them.
"Yes, we should just start moving around the lake......." Wait. Wait just one second. They were in Greenland. It was snowing. More so they had also just been through a blizzard. Not to mention this boat was just way too convenient. That water seemed crystal clear but no matter how deep the waters or how big the lake... shouldn't there be some ice on it? At least around the edges? A frown appeared on his face. Definitely something was off in this place.
The brunette kept quiet though, as of right now they didn't have to worry about it. Without knowing the mystery, how could they ever solve it? He moved towards the redhead, pulling out a large bag out of his pack. There was one thing that he had brought more than food. "Let me see your hand Nash." A not-so-standard issue first aid kit. Gauze, bandages of multiple sizes, different kinds of pain killers, antibiotics, thermometer, multiple kinds of ointments, and other things normally found in a medicine cabinet. He was prepared for this situation, like a good doctor-to-be. It did take up a good amount of space in his pack. And with the snap of his gloves, he went to work.

Shame about that boat, it would have made your life so much easier! Instead, you are forced to track all the way around the lake, it's a very long walk. You finally come to a river...but the bridge looks awfully sketchy! Do you try to cross it, or do you keep looking for a safer pass?

Thankful for Weiyuan's preparedness Nash allowed the other student to do his part. He wasn't up for arguing and there was no telling what that mutt had that could be transferred over. The sooner they moved on the sooner he could see a proper physician and get himself looked at thoroughly.
Nash was new to this and it showed, he had tried his best with the dog but that didn't work out so well instead they had to trek around the lake as much time as that took they made it okay. Though now they were met with yet another obstetrical. He gave a hefty sigh turning to the group as he stepped near the bridge. "I'm not going across that." He announced with great trepidation. "I hate bridges and I hate heights. And I am definitely not brave enough to even test this thing. Look at it! It's just... well it's too convenient." Okay so he didn't have to be that adamant about it but it was better to state his claim now.
This was a good time for rope but if one person fell through the cracks the rest would simply fall with him. "I vote going around." He suggested raising his hand as if he were in a classroom. Yes strange, no not risking another incident similar to the dog; only this time quite life threatening for anyone if the bridge felt like giving way.

Zach eyed that bridge with a frown, wondering just what was going on here. "I dunno. It's almost like we're being ... herded to go a certain way and do certain things. First the fog, then the dog, now this? We took the risk going through the fog... and we at least tried with the dog ... Should we give up and go to the easier path now?" the young man mused aloud.
It all seemed... set-up, somehow. "I mean, what if something worse waits the other way? I say we should at least try to cross the bridge."
Pulling some rope out of his bag, he held it up. "I have this... we could tie it around one of us and that person can try to cross. If the bridge falls or something, whoever's still here could pull the person back. Then we can keep going like til we're all across, if it works."

Weiyuan grunted his agreement with Zach. He couldn't shake the feeling that they were really just puppets on strings. He looked around, trying to see a different way around the river. But it was no use, it seemed as if the white waters went on for miles and they really didn't have that sort of time.
He thought about the plan the younger boy thought up. He wasn't afraid of height or creaky bridges, but Wei wasn't a strong swimmer and if any of them fell into the waters....he didn't know how well he could do against that.
The Chinese huffed out his worries and took the rope from the smaller boy's hands and tying it securely around his waist. He checked his knot once more before turning to the red head."If it's secure, then yes, you're going. This river could go on forever and we've wasted enough time. I'll tie you up and carry you if I have to." He stepped up to the bridge, inspecting the ropes and posts for any signs of weakness. Steeling himself he moved onto the first plank, putting enough pressure to feel it's soundness, another look at the ropes.
Another step, and he repeated the process. Another. And another. His pace was slow but his focus was safety. He was lost in his concentration, his focus sharp enough to cut. A third of the way. The next plank creaked under his foot and he could start to feel it sag underneath him significantly. He griped the side ropes even more firmly, lifting his foot up. With a robust cry he broke the plank, letting the remains fall to the water beneath. The bridge shook from the force, but remained stable. He rather eliminate the weakness now instead of risking having one of them fall through.

This was ridiculous why couldn't they just continue onward. Seriously a bridge? He sighed watching Weiyuan tie the rope around his waist, a light tint of pink marring his cheeks at the other student's declaration of his going across. Well ... he wouldn't argue but he doubted the other could carry him... okay maybe he could. With a snort and a pout he held to the end of the rope waiting to see just how much of this bridge was safe.
With the first plank lost to the river it was only a matter of time before another gave way and another after that. He just hoped everyone would be able to cross safely. Turning to the others he gave a soft smile. "You both should go first." It just made sense for the smaller ones to go before he darted across that thing because he wasn't going to walk slowly. Not at all...

Cole was tired from all the walking and for sure he wasn't going to keep walking till they find some other way of crossing the river. Though the latter seems like a good idea when he saw how fragile the bridge was.
When Weiyuan started crossing the bridge, Cole started praying for them to make it across safetly. Hell, it wouldn't be an exciting and fun trip if someone was to .... meet some unfortunate event that will lead to their doom. He turned his head when Nash spoke about them going first. "I guess that's logical" he thought to himself. He took the rope and tied it to his waist and started walking across the bridge. The steps he took was slow and careful, though his hands were shaking and causing the bridge to slightly.

Wei had broken a total of 5 planks and for the most part decided it was safe enough. He dismounted the bridge, taking a look at the posts once more. Good. The brunette then went to a tree, transferring the rope to it. Again he tied it securely to make it a good anchor point. It was hard to move a tree, not so hard to move a person.
When he looked back, he saw the next person stepping up. It was Cole. He was shaking, not enough to be bad. But still...He moved back to the bridge, and took hold of the ropes, doing his best to still them. "Don't worry about it. You're safe. Completely safe. We got you." He wasn't good at being an inspiration speaker, but he could try at best.

Zach held onto the rope from his side too, and got Nash to do the same - even after Weiyuan tied it to the tree. This way, it might hurt or bruise but if someone fell, they could pull from both sides and maybe even stop them before they hit the water.
Grinning, he pumped a fist into the air. "Yea, come on, we can do this!" Once Cole was most of the way across, Zach made sure the rope was tied tight around him and then headed for the bridge himself, slowly.
He found a few more loose or weak planks on his way across and bounced just a little on each one, but none of them were so weak that the broke, like the ones Wei had pushed on. "It's fine, really," he called, glancing over his shoulder to Nash.
