Ryoua would not hesitate to take care of both his mother and the good Setsushi when they finally reach the distant, distant (very distant!) shores of old age.

Mother should not tease Setsushi so, Ryoua expresses in little laughing projections. For all of Ryoua's good blood, he's not certain he compares favourably to Setsushi's looks. After all, Ryoua has never in all the world seen another Porcelain with that stunning hair colour!

((Ehehehehe.))

Perhaps because Setsushi is a freak of nature, he speculates, while leaning far, far away from Tenkyuu's pinching fingers.

Ryoua is certainly far lovelier than Setsushi, though -- Setsushi is sure that if they were still in the Golden World, Ryoua would have little trouble wooing the lucky lady of his affection.

And even now that they aren't, there are several eligible ladies here in Gaia, aren't there? Setsushi puts the duster down, then swiftly moves to pull up a chair next to Ryoua. So, what does he think of them? Anyone catch his eye?? he pesters his junior playfully.

Tenkyuu watches the two with a fond smile, her arms folding as she cocks her head slightly to the side. After a few moments of admiring the interaction between the two men, Tenkyuu gives a happy sigh.

Tenkyuu, adopting a more serious expression, steps towards the table. With one hand slipping against it to support her weight, the elder sweeps her eyes over both of the young men as she opens her mouth.

"... Setsushi, Ryoua, what men you both have become," says Tenkyuu as a swell of emotion rises in her chest. Despite herself, a mixture of melancholy and pride stemming from past and present trickle from Tenkyuu.

"You both have become good, capable men with so much before you," states Tenkyuu as she begins to smile, not seeming to note the tears swelling in her eyes nor the pain floating from her person.

Ryoua believes that he has only met one such lady as of yet, back when they first arrived. In any case, Ryoua is waiting for the person he is meant to be with. Happy innocence seems to radiate from his very person. Ah, yes, The One. Perhaps Ryoua will know her when he sees her, or perhaps not, but in either case, he must wait patiently until he finds her. And then perhaps it will be seen whether Ryoua is capable of effective wooing...

Ryoua's buoyant thoughts taper off as he catches on to his mother's familiar sadness. He moves to her and takes her other arm, willing himself to be a good pillar for her. His mind projects soothing, gentle feelings.

If they are good men, Ryoua can only assume that it is thanks to the good men whom they have known and learned from and who stay with them in this way.

Is that so? Setsushi questions Ryoua. He can't help feeling that Ryoua won't get very far if he doesn't search that One a little more aggressively -- then again, what does the Maiden of Ice know? sweatdrop

In any case, if he chooses to court Unsou, Setsushi will gladly give him a lesson in defensive combat before, he informs Ryoua with a nod.

His lighthearted mood is tempered by Tenkyuu's emotions, and he sends a feeling of filial affection and support to complement Ryoua's physical gesture. What Ryoua says is precisely correct -- they are only good through the wise and patient guidance of their mother and mentors. What Tenkyuu sees in them is the flowering of the sweat and tears sewn by those women long ago.

As if the Heavenly Bow realizes her lapse in the wall that guards her emotions, a hand slips to her face to dry her tears--the same motion seems to shut off the negative emotions that previously floated towards the two.

Tenkyuu apologizes--this is not like her whatsoever. The conversation, in addition to the most pleasant company, caused Tenkyuu to long for more memories to make with...

The mother cuts herself off before she mentions the figure, possibly to stop another flood of emotion. Slowly, Tenkyuu takes a breath before slipping her hand from her face. The Heavenly Bow smiles faintly at the two males before bowing her head.

Tenkyuu is fine now.

Ryoua carefully returns to the topic of his (as yet nonexistent) love life, as it seems to him that his mother would rather not draw undue attention to herself.

Perhaps Setsushi suggests correctly that he ought to be more assertive in his pursuit. But Ryoua would not want any nice young ladies to be unknowingly misled... There must be a fine balance between the two. Ryoua wonders whom he could find to teach him about such a thing. Does Setsushi know of such a suave, gentlemanly Porcelain to guide little, naive Ryoua? wink

... But Dame Unsou? Oh gracious, she really might kill him for that one. Actually, the young lady he was referring to was named Tsubei. In fact, wasn't she the one with whom Dame Unsou left?

Setsushi follows Ryoua's lead, gently turning his attention off of Tenkyuu.

Well, there certainly aren't any such suave gentlemen under this roof.
sweatdrop But one who is renowned in the Empire for his gracious loveliness is Master Reiga, Dame Chourou's husband. Setsushi has their address -- and in fact, they are to come dine at the house soon. Perhaps Ryoua can stop by as well and introduce himself to the family?

... As for Tsubei, Setsushi would feel quite improper to give his opinion on her as a woman. She has, after all, just grown up, physically, from a little girl into a budding youth -- comments from Setsushi, the withered old flower, would be entirely inappropriate.

How dare Setsushi compare himself even to a withered flower? A pleasant smile crosses her lips as she seems to think on the topic before nodding slightly.

Women do like to be pursued, but only to a degree. Think of it like a game: if someone plays a game again and again, despite their enjoyment of it, they tend to get bored of it; however, when one plays a fun game only to a degree, they continue to long for and anticipate it.

As in most things, a balance is needed when wooing a woman.

Tenkyuu pauses, her eyes peering curiously at Ryoua.

So... He has found her a daughter-in-law?

No, nothing of the sort, Ryoua replies absently to his mother's query, distracted by this new puzzle. Ryoua just realized how odd it is that Dame Unsou decided so quickly to stay with this Porcelain girl and her caretaker. She must have reasons of which she hasn't informed them. Ah, but he shouldn't be nosy, much as he loves solving little mysteries. Dame Unsou's doings are her own, and have nothing to do with him. 3nodding Soon he will be seeing conspiracy everywhere! He chuckles.

Ryoua would certainly like to meet Dame Chourou's family properly -- they seemed kind, not to mention quite devoted to each other. And if Setsushi is correct, perhaps Master Reiga can instruct Ryoua on this balance of which his mother wisely speaks. When did Setsushi say they would be dining with him... ?

This weekend, Setsushi answers.

Though Setsushi cannot say exactly why Unsou chose that family to stay with, she certainly picked a good one. The grounds are very luxurious -- they even have their own martial arts practice room. And an impressive armory...

Setsushi's eyes glaze over slightly
-- as if it's the collection of weapons, not the many women living there, that is really interesting to fantasize about.

... Their family will hopefully be joining them at dinner as well. Setsushi just hopes the weather will be pleasant, as they may have to dine outside with all the guests.
PostPosted: Sun Mar 29, 2009 1:32 pm

Tenkyuu watches Setsushi before laughing a bell-like laugh slips from her mind. Setsushi should be careful, or he will be more frequently called the Maiden of Ice: some might consider that he is more attracted to weapons than beautiful women.

Tenkyuu's hand moves to cover her chin as she contemplates something. After a few seconds of thought, Tenkyuu nods faintly before privately speaking with Setsushi.

By chance, what is the address Tsubei is staying at?

Ah, so it will be a grand party! This one will have to convince Tenryuu to attend as well. Is there anything that they can bring by way of food, so that Setsushi need not worry about feeding everyone himself?

At Tenkyuu's assessment of said Maiden of Ice's inclinations, Ryoua stifles a laugh himself. Then again, Ryoua supposes, perhaps a dedicated warrior might reasonably find a great deal of beauty in a fine weapon. How should he know? Ryoua should not judge, after all, having no basis for doing so.
PostPosted: Sun Mar 29, 2009 1:52 pm

Setsushi harumphs, though his cheeks turn slightly red. Weapons are categorically different from women!! ... Though indeed, they can also have their own beauty, which Tenkyuu also surely sees in the elegant strength and suppleness of a well-crafted bow.

And Rika has told him is in the combination of fine precision and vast expansiveness of the equations of astronomers. Setsushi does not know of them himself, but perhaps Ryoua can relate to that feeling?

He smiles at Ryoua, but privately connects with Tenkyuu's mind -- he can tell her the address, though... he is not entirely sure Tsubei is a good match for Ryoua. Perhaps so, perhaps not. But there was some sort of enmity between her and Kouyo before.

... Then again, Kouyo does have his moments... he chuckles aloud, a little ruefully, perhaps puzzling Ryoua who was not part of their conversation.

Tenkyuu laughs faintly before shaking her head, a teasing tone entering the conversation: Tenkyuu knows far too well what Setsushi means, but prefers the company of beautiful men to elegant weapons.

Honestly, however, Tenkyuu knows Setsushi's feelings on the matter. When one is able to grasp the tool that allows them to pursue their passion, there are few greater joys.

... Speaking of such, Tenkyuu will have to craft a bow soon. While it will be a most inelegant weapon, the Heavenly Bow misses archery. What of Ryoua, asks the mother curiously, would he care for a calc-ee-lator?

At the Maiden of Ice's words, a smile gingerly crawls across Tenkyuu's lips. Privately to Setsushi, Tenkyuu notes that perhaps Tsubei is a horrible shrew of a woman, destined to only marry the weak of heart. Tenkyuu feels that she must meet her and judge her worth before taking any further action.
