Shu ran quickly and was upon the tree in no time, making it into the cool shade. She stopped panting slightly and turned to see Jua had made it too. It seemed to her as though it was a tie but for a moment her back had been turned and there was no real knowing who made it first. "That was fun," she said softly, "but now I could use a break. Running like that is tiring, don't you think?" Shu sat down and the shade and sighed, it was nice.

"Yeah" Jua inhaled deeply. "I don't.....run.....too much." he laughed in between breaths. "So a break sounds good." flopping onto the soft grass beneath the tree, Jua sighed and closed his eyes for a few moments. He knew how foolish he must look, getting so tired after a smiple run, but that's just how he was. He had always been lazy, due to his own father's bad habit. But he was trying his hardest to come across a little better, so he didn't look overly weird to Shu.
Rolling over, Jua looked up at the sky. It was so blue, but it seemed to cut off into patchy sunlight where the trees started. "I think I'll miss the blue sky when we go in deeper." he smiled a bit, remembering how cool this was to go into a forest.

"I have lessons with my mom and siblings for hunting and the like, so I guess I run a lot." Shu rolled onto her side and let out a small yawn. "But we take breaks then too, after all we are still just pups."
Shu watched as Jua rolled and looked up at the blue sky, she giggle when he said he'd miss the sky, thinking it was silly. “Its not so bad. You can see the sky a bit and the sunlight peeks through bouncing off the tree leaves and dance across the ground. Its very pretty. Also we don't have to go any further if you don't want. We can stay here.”

Jua took a long look into the deep forest; it seemed so sad and dismal, with no light and happy colors. He didn't like dark places as much, mostly due to him being such a beacon of sunlight and brightness. "Hmm.......maybe another time. I think it'd get cold in there." he let out a soft laugh, covering his slight fear. "It just seems like it would swallow you up and never let you go." his eyes softened, thinking of the forest never letting him go back out.

Shubanu looked to Jua, she could tell he was afraid, but she knew their was nothing to fear, so without any warning she jumped up and ran off into the darkness, pouncing on the sunlight that broke through the tree tops and danced on the ground. "Come on Jua," she called, "There's a waterhole, not to far in and the sun shine on it because its in a opening."

Twitching his ears a bit, he stayed laying on the ground as he watched Shubanu frolic into the forest. He wasn't sure if he wanted to follow, but didn't want to leave her running alone in there. With noticable hesitation, Jua rose from the ground and slowly trotted into the woods, sliding his eyes back and forth nervously.
He didn't hear a thing; no movement of water, nothing. He thought that maybe the waterhole would have sound to it, so he was surprised when they reached it faster than he'd expected.

Shu smiled and splashed into the water, leaving her head scarf on the ground so it would not get wet. "I thought you would never make it. Glad to see I was wrong. Come on the waters fine." She splashed some water at Jua and smiled brightly. She hoped her knew one would relax and have fun in her home. She had no idea how long she would be here.

Jua had never had a fondness of water. It was more the awkward getting-in part that he didn't like, for he actually liked the feeling of being in water. Step by step, he went further into the water, shaking his head a bit to keep bugs away. "I don't normally go this far away from my home." he looked around, a soft happiness on his face. "I don't think I could ever get used to this feeling of being so secluded. It kind of feels like the world is shutting you out." he looked to the side, splashing Shubanu with a little bit of water. "I guess I just need the open spaces for me to roam and know that there's more out there than where I live."

"Im use to it, but I like the sunshine too." Shu splashed the water and ran about in the shallow end. "Your like sunshine, bright like the sun and I bet you your bright fur is even easy to see in the dark. Not like me. My fur is dark and I am like the night. Um like mystery."

"Mystery? I think you stick out on the plains." Jua laughed a bit. "Funny, we're more noticable everywhere but our homes." he drug his paws from the water onto the surrounding land, rubbing his muzzle hiw one of his front paws. He shook himself, to get rid of all the excess water, and dipped his toes back in, flicking water droplets at Shubanu.

Shu smiled at Jua and followed him of the water, laughing slightly when Jua when she was flicked with water droplets. She flicked a few back at Jua. She moved forward and and smiled happily shaking the water from her fur and quickly cleaning her fur by running her tougue over it quickly. She wiggled back into her headscarf and smiled again. "We should get you back home before it get dark, Mr Sunshine."
Shu laughed slightly and moved toward the egde of the forest, "Let go my new friend. I'm sure our families are wondering where we are."

Jua smiled and followed her to the edge of the forest; he hated saying goodbye to new friends, but it was something that he always had to do. "I hope I see you again." he glanced away, embaraced that he actually wanted to see her again. I mean, she was a girl.

Shu was happy she'd made a new friend. She really liked her new friend and she wanted to see him again soon. "I hope to see you again soon too. I visit the waterhole everyday in the moring and in the evening. We will play again soon, yes," she asked turning grey eyes on her new friend smiling happily.

"Well, I guess I'll go." he turned his eyes to the sinking sunlight, and wanted to make sure he had light to travel by. "I may come see you again-- this place, it kinda grows on you." he surveyed the massive trees before him, thinking of the other times he's been to this area, to see other friends. "I seem to hang out with all the forest dwellers." he lauged once more, then turned to leave, trotting through the tall grass towards his den.

Shu smiled brightly at the thought that she would see her new friend again. She watched Jua leave with the sinking sun and turned to head back to her own family and warm den.
