He nodded at her comment of starting first, just as it should be. Armel 'revved' up the car by pulling it back and then letting it go. However, something seemed to be making it slow down and it took a rather lazy and uninspired leap off of the table. "Aww, I think the inside is broke." He looked at Vidya and blinked after a moment, "What is a ... chupalupa anyways?" He stared at her with curiosity. She certainly was smart much like her brother!
"Oh, I didn't get in trouble until I spilt milk on Da's head." Armel grinned and did a small fist pump, "Rebellion!" he let out small shout. Despite everything, he was fitting the description his shirt put out for him.

"Aw...I think its broken too. Hey, after this, D'you wanna use the one I have? I could just push that one, I think." She pulled back the car, hearing it click as it 'revved' up, and letting it go by lifting her finger. Unlike the first time, when she'd lazily flicked it away, it zoomed off the table and landed a few inches short of the nearby wall. "Three points for yours I think...'cause it actually stayed in the air for a bit! Uhh...8 point five for mine, 'cause it didn't hit the wall." She giggled, stretching out to snatch the two cars again, keeping the broken one for herself.
"Chupacabra...Its this really weird monster that doesn't like light. Its got glowing red eyes and everything!" Vidya seemed strangely proud of that adventure; after all, she'd made her first TRUE best friend then! She was pretty sure Tybalt felt the same way. "But...It was really, really scary..." She admitted sheepishly, setting her car down on the table and taking her turn, since she won last time. Her car, merely pushed by a flick of her finger, rolled across the table and did a fairly graceful leap, landing at an almost perfect spot between the table and the wall.
"Five points!" She cried out happily. She giggled as Armel told her what he did, and as he spoke, she untied the golden rope around her waist, and instead looped it under her arms and tied it behind her neck, using it now to keep the big, baggy sleeves of her haori out of her way without actually taking her beloved jacket off. "Ew...Its not a good idea to spill milk on people! But it would be very funny.." She mused. Vidya had never openly rebelled against anyone, but she had been pretty sneaky when it came to subtly changing someone's mind. Like Tybalt for example, she subtly rebelled against him so he wouldn't do something incredibly dangerous...like oh say plotting vicious things against his mother? Coincidentally, it was her subtle rebelling that got them into that mess in the first place. "As long as you don't get grounded or hurt or something." She mused once more, then waited for Armel to launch his car.
"Can you swim?" Vidya asked rather suddenly, and out of nowhere, which was so like her.

Armel nodded a bit listening to Vidya talk. He then 'revved' his car up, and then let go watching as it flew a little past Vidya's car, but not by much. "Woo!" he called out exuberantly.
He glanced at Vidya and shook his head, "Nah. Da' says he'll gimme lessons when spring starts again or somethin' he doesn't know of any indoor pool places. Otherwise he'd take me sooner."
Pales had mysteriously gotten up and left while the two talked, only to return with a refill for Vidya and a glass of water for Armel. He then was back in his chair as if he hadn't even gotten up. Magic refills!

"Oh. I have a pool! When you learn, ya wanna go swimming?" She paused for a moment, then rephrased her offer. "When its springtime, I mean. Oh! I know where there's an indoor pool! We should go together! I like swimming..." One of her favourite places would soon be the indoor swimming pool near her house, or so she decided just now. "Seven Points!" She was being generous with her points; she wanted him to win! She liked it when the other won, because they got so happy, and it made HER happy to see them happy.
Not that she wasn't going continue flicking the car like she'd done. Like before, she retreived the toys, and handed the working one back to Armel. She let him go first again, seeing as he so clearly beat her.
If she hadn't been playing with Armel, Vidya would have heard Pales stand and leave, or even the refills of their drinks. But as it stood, she didn't hear him, and when she reached for her glass, she marvelled at how heavy it was. Blinking, she looked down at it...only to find it had refilled. Her eyes widened in a mixture of pure joy and surprise. "Armel...your house is awesome. Magic Refills!" She happily took a sip of it.

Armel gave a small laugh, "Swimmin' sounds like lots 'o fun! Maybe we can go now?" He almost seemed hopeful. Pales seemed to make swimming seem so great and important, and well if Vidya liked it there must be something to it!
Pales glanced up and over at Armel with a small smile, "Only if her parents say it's okay, that way they know where she is in case something happens." Pales then plopped his head back. Doing absolutely nothing seemed to be no problem for the man, though it did mildly agitate him a little. He wasn't the type to just laze about all day.
Armel seemed to have forgotten about the car game for now, "Okay!" He chirpped a bit. He stared at the table for a moment before snatching up a paper with random letters on it, "Oh! Lookit, da's been teachin' me to read and write. 'E says I'm learnin' real fast."

Swimming? Now?! She didn't have a bathing suit with her! Oh no! Otherwise, she'd be so eager to go...Hey, wait a minute! Didn't Pales just suggest calling her parents? ...That was a Perfect idea. "Yeah, lets go swimming now! I have to get my bathing suit though...so I'll meet you there?" She was fairly certain they'd let her go swimming...granted, her mother would probably send someone else along, so Pales wouldn't have to deal with BOTH tales by himself.
She was distraced from leaving though, once Armel showed her his writing. "Wow! I learned how to read and write about a week ago! Momma said I wouldn't sit still long enough to learn as a baby...so she had to wait until I grew to teach me. Thats really good, Melly!" She complimented him genuinely, clapping her hands together. Then, reaching into her bag, she took out her journal and tore out a page, taking a pencil out as well. Setting both on the table after putting the rest of her journal back into the bag, she started to draw a map from Armel's house. She'd gotten lost around here so many times that she knew it like the back of her hand now...Vidya had always been good at directions, but more often than naught she had to get herself completely lost before she was remotely close to figuring out where she was.
Once she was finished, she put the pencil back into her bag and wandered over to Pales, holding out the piece of paper with a neatly drawn map on it. "Here! This is how to get to the swimming pool. I'll meet you there, okay?" Eager to get to swim now, she waved to her friend and Pales, then shuffled towards the door, chirping out words of farewell as she slipped on her sandals and opened the door, closing it behind her as she ran back home. YAY SWIMMING.

Armel practically beamed at the compliments. Pales gave him plenty of course, but coming from a friend it seemed more genuine somehow, "Okay! We'll be there!" He called after she had left the map and just before she left. Armel got up and wandered over to Pales to give him the map, "'Ere. I go get ready now." He spoke authoratively, and then left off to his room.
Pales laughed a bit accepting the map and looking it over, and then leaving it on the table for a moment, "I might as well get ready too." Pales then got up and went to get on his trucks and a shirt.
----
They were waiting at the pool entrance, Pales tucked the map into his beachbag filled with extra clothes and some towels. Pales' swimming trunks were black, and he wore a black shirt that had a yellow smiley face on it.
Armel's swimming trunks were black with flames coming up the sides of them that were the color of his braids. His shirt was also black, the front reading, "Ladies' Man! cool "
Again, Pales obviously picked the shirt that Armel wore, as Armel tried to get away with wearing the shirt he wore from the very beginning. The ram-horned boy was also clueless as to what the shirt read as he wasn't quite that advanced in reading, and Pales wouldn't tell him.

Vidya had quickly scuttled home, explained the situation to her Mother, since she was officially on Maternity leave and Daddy was at work, and like she originally guessed, she was told to bring someone along; and naturally, her first thought was to bring Teivel along. However, the stag must have sensed this coming, so he'd left the house before Vidya came home, meaning she'd have to find someone else. In the end, Enoh ended up sending Samira along with the tale, the naturally pale Tahnee Dog more willing than her stag brother.
With that decided, Vidya did a quick scramble of the house and fit her bathing suit underneath her actual clothing, while putting the necessary undergarments in a plastic bag within her sidebag, for when they were going home. Naturally, the tale brought a towel along with her, and Samira did the same. Before anyone knew it, Vidya and Samira disappeared from the house, the tale eagerly leading the tahnee towards the indoor pool
---
When they got there, it took Vidya two seconds to spot Armel and Pales, which was only natural seeing as the pool was rather empty. Aside from their group of four, there were probably only six other people in the entire pool area. Excitedly, Vidya scurried over, pointing to the naturally sickly-looking Tahnee behind her. "Hiya Melly, Pales! This is Samira, Sammy, this is Armel and Pales." She quickly introduced them, then shuffled away to put their stuff out of the water's reach before taking off her jacket, shirt, pants and shoes so she could go into the pool quicker.
"Hello." The dog replied politely, offering a meek bow towards the two. "Ah...I'd shake your hand...but mine are a little weak right now." She admitted shyly, looking down at her thin, frail hands before dragging her bright eyes back to the pair. "Vidya's a little eager, but there's some swimming equipment over there...She mentioned Armel hasn't had experience swimming." The dog motioned towards a little built in shack near where they were, chuckling softly.
Eager was certainly an understatement, as within seconds, Vidya ran past the trio, her hair free of all ties save for the tiny braid under her ear, and cannonballed into the pool, no doubt getting a little bit of water on them. Seconds later she broke the surface, her long hair curtaining her face, making her look like a white-haired, blue-skinned version of Samara from the Ring. Giggling gleefully, she righted her hair behind her back, letting the water play with it as it pleased. "C'mon, Cmon! The water's great! Lets gooooo...!" Vidya urged, treading water as she did so.

Pales nodded to Samira, "Honored to meet you, it's quite alright I don't often handshake myself." He smiled at the Tahnee Dog and then looked to where she directed him, "Alright, thank you."
Armel blinked at the Tahnee for a moment or two, my she looked sickly, "Aye, thankee for comin'!" He smiled up at her and then wandered toward the supplies for a moment looking them over a moment, my they looked somewhat degrading. He picked up some water wings and a floaty doughnut and bright them over to his Da, who was shirtless and waiting for the boy.
"You don't hurt anymore right?" Pales asked with a serious tone to his voice. Armel looked annoyed for a fraction of a moment then shook his head. Pales nodded a bit and helped the boy get his shirt off, revealing that the boy had somehow gotten marked, one on his left arm and another on almost the entire right side of his body. Both markings still were surrounded by an angry red color as if they were tattooed to his skin freshly.
Pales carefully got the water wings on the boy and then lead him to the shallow-ish end of the pool. Pales got in first and then carried Armel over with him. Armel had forgotten about the tube and only wore the water wings. Upon water contact Armel gave a small shudder, "Kin'a cold." He stated as he looked over at Viddy.

Samira smiled pleasantly, then moved to sit down and guard their things...maybe she'd go in later...but chances are she wouldn't. Her hands still hurt too much to even try to swim properly.
As the two went to the supply shack, Vidya followed them, the only difference being she stayed in the pool. When they stopped, she tread water, and watched them. The tale didn't quite understand water wings...she'd always been exceptionally good at swimming, so she never had to wear them. The tale couldn't help but wonder if they were uncomfortable or not, since they most certainly looked it. Upon seeing the angry red on his skin, her eyes were quickly drawn to the markings on his arm and torso, gasping in surprise. "Are you okay, Melly?" She questioned, genuinely worried...she was curious as to how he'd get such intricate markings on his body, but she was more worried about how painful that looked. As Pales led him towards the shallow end, she followed once more, lazily front-stroking her way there.
"Aww...it'll only be cold for a little bit, I promise! You'll get used to it." Vidya coo'd reassuringly, then swam around the pair, her long hair gracefully dancing and waving underneath the water. "Ya gotta move your feet though...kinda in circles up and down, like this!" She pushed herself back in the water so she was floating on her back, swaying her arms to keep her in place as she moved her feet in the way she taught; which was the proper way to move your feet while treading water, much like riding a bicycle.

Armel was touched by her concern, he just shrugged, "They don' hurt anymore... I just sorta woke up with 'em." He shrugged again and smiled, watching as she tried to show him to move his legs, Pales had his arms to either side of him just in case the boy had a panic attack.
"Aye, move y'hands Da!" He had always liked to be independant. He put his arms either side of himself and paddled with his feet, water wings gave him a bit of an advantage. "I want the wings off!" He complained.
Pales attempted to aid Viddy in her lessons, having obediantly removed his hands from anywhere in Armel's vacinity. "Make sure you're relaxed and move your arms a bit too so you can stay a float. Remember that when I take your wings off, then Vidya can try to help you to actually paddle." Pales then removed the water wings.
Armel bobbed a bit, but didn't panic, he got his arms to move just by watching how Viddy did things, "Like this?" The coolish water actually helped the markings feel much better.

"Oh...well as long as hey don't hurt anymore.." She figured...if they didn't hurt, there was no problems, right? But those markings sure were weird things to wake up with. Then again...Enoh woke up with a different haircolour everyday, so maybe it wasn't as strange. ...Actually, it was just as strange. Enoh never complained about the change in her hair, but about the change in her child-filled belly.
Vidya grinned thankfully at Pales for helping her with this. She'd never taught anyone how to swim before, this was gonna be fun! Neither Adonis nor Tybalt could swim, and everyone else either already knew how, or didn't like the water at all...so this was a real treat for her! "Yeah...sway your arms like this, but don't do it too fast, or you'll get tired really quickly!" She spoke from experience, apparently. A few moments later, Vidya fended off her own locks as they rebelliously curled around her wrists and arms. Grunting a bit in discomfort, she stood in the water this time she quickly braided her wet hair to keep it out of the way, for the most part.
When the waterwings were removed, she was back on duty, carefully watching him to make sure he didn't submerge himself by accident. It became obvious he wouldn't, and Vidya smiled broadly at his efforts, clapping a bit. "Yes, just like that! You're really good Melly! Thats called 'Treading Water'. If you're swimming, and you get really tired, treading water is a good way to calm yourself down...it doesn't take too much effort, so a lot of people can do it about three times longer than they can actually swim without a rest." She informed him, being the fountain of useless knowledge that she was.
"Paddling's really, really easy! All you gotta do is paw at the water like this." She lifted her hands above the surface, curling her hands into little arcs, her fingers slightly apart, and once she was certain he saw her hands, she started dragging them through the water to demonstrate. "But sometimes doing it completely under water is a lot easier. And then you just gotta kick with your feet! Wanna give it a try?" She was standing in the shallow water now, since it'd be easier to jump to his aid when she was standing. Besides, the water reached her ribs, so why not?

Armel was glad that he was catching on quickly enough. It was strange it was a little like he always knew how but just needed to be refreshed on the matter, but no he knew he never swam before, that was a rediculous feeling. So Armel shoved that aside, as distraction could be dangerous.
Armel nodded at Vidya's instruction, to show that he understood. His Da was near by in case Viddy needed help with instructions. When she began to demonstrate so that Armel could see what she was doing, Pales showed how it worked by going into the deeper end of the pool and swimming a bit himself before going back over to them, "That's how it should look like when it is put together." the man said once he stood again, the shallow water was barely waist level on Pales.
Armel of course watched, "Aye, I'm ready." He replied to Vidya, just hoping he was as ready as he said. He felt ready too, but sometimes thinking like that could lead him astray.

Vidya looked over her shoulder at Pales, watching him demonstrate. As she watched him, she made a mental note to demonstrate like that the NEXT time she taught someone how to swim...hey, she was learning here too! Swimming was second nature to her, so she had to learn to understand not everyone knew how, and that you have to show people how to do it sometimes, not just give them the basics and hope they catch on quickly.
"Okay, we're ready too Melly! Swim to us!" Vidya urged, letting her arms float on the water's surface.

It took Armel a moment or two to figure out how to combine it all. Instead of panicing when he almost went under he relaxed and began to tread water again, getting in a couple of deep breaths and going again. It was obvious the boy kept a cool head when he knew how to fix the situation almost right away.
Soon he was swimming toward Viddy and then going from Viddy to his Da and back and forth for a moment. He was a little clumsy at first before he gradually began to improve, after a few swimming between the space of Viddy and Palesm Armel stopped between them and treaded water, "I did it!?!" There was a happy excited tone to his voice.
Pales smiled and nodded, "I think you did excellent." He looked at Vidya, "You are a good swimming teacher." He complimented, as it was true.
