Rayale blinked as his attention was drawn from looking for the aggressive green, somehow vaguely sure that someone was going to end up bleeding before the feast was over, and that if he wasn't careful it would be him, and offered a wide grin to Conomor. Both flits did a short whirl of acrobatics, then one landed on his shoulder, and the other clung stubbornly to the front of his shirt, with a hiss at the larger, darker blue who had apparently just settled where it wanted to be. "I know what you mean." He admitted. "But it was really exciting anyway...and a lot of people can try again." He added. "That was really something though when that Green clawed the girl...I mean why would it even do that?" He frowned at the thought, looking around for it again, but couldn't keep the grin off his shoulders as he boldly reached over to thump Conomor on the shoulder with one broad, rough hand, a fair indicator of the huge man he was of the process of growing into. "Next time." He insisted, confidently. Nerves evidently made him ramble a bit because he added with interest. "Gold flit? Wow that a piece of luck, huh? Whats her name?"

Conomor grinned back, glad the other lad had chosen to thump his right shoulder not his left. "Her name's Gilden, I got her egg at the gather for three quarters of a mark; very lucky find." Gilden crooned her agreement and came to settle on his right shoulder. "I certainly plan to try again," Conomor went on, sending feelings of affection to the flit, "see if I can actually make it to the Touching without damaging myself or getting ill for the first time ever." Honestly, he'd been a bit shocked by the aggressive green too. He remembered seeing similar things before, knew they happened but somehow it had been different. Perhaps because he'd almost been one of the ones on the sands this time.
"Candidates get hurt fairly often," he said eventually with a slight shrug. "By accident usually but that green was... Mmmh. Vicious. First out too; must have put you on edge down there. Oh, I'm Conomor by the way," he said, handing his goblet up to Gilden and asking her to hold onto it for him so that he could extend his hand to the other boy. Having a flit around when you'd broken your arm really was very useful.

Lanakirene was.....she wasn't sure what the word was. Overwhelmed might have been a good term for it. She still wasn't entirely sure what to think about the entire situation. Her mother had come, though, and it had only been with great reluctance (and rather a lot of relief; she had thought the last time they spoke that La had given up men completely, and wasn't it wonderful that she had changed her mind, and oh what a darling green, she would make a dashing blue very happy someday...) that she had allowed La to return to the other riders.
Isonth was stumbling at the moment, the typical awkward gait of all dragonets only exaggerated by the length of her legs. Half-leaning against Hers for support, she looked around at the other dragons before turning her head toward L'an and Alcherath. Over here, Mine, she said lightly, nudging La toward the table where the other Weyrling sat. La blinked, shaking her head. She didn't know this boy, why couldn't she go sit with someone she knew?
Isonth...
Mine, look, my sister and Hers are sitting lonely, Isonth answered, not bothering to change direction and using her weight to push La toward the table. La sighed and complied, reaching down to rest her hand on the arch of Isonth's neck. Moving to sit across from L'an, she smiled and inclined her head slightly.
"This seat isn't taken, is it?"

T'ka was just beginning to really relax, enjoy herself. The food was delcious, there was drink aplenty, and Haanyath was behaving. Appearantly though, good things couldn't last too long. The stout green removed her paws from the table, but held her head high, looking over at something.
<> T'ka was thankful that she didn't need to speak out loud to communicate with her dragon. Currently she had a mouthful of the best roast herdbeast she'd ever tasted.
<>
<All the dragonets here are your siblings.>>
<> And with that, Haanyath went trotting off. T'ka grumbled, swallowed her food, and slipped out of her chair, hurriedly following Haanyath, lest she cause trouble. Xythe and Daeok, not wanting to be left out of anything, fluttered up to their self-appointed shoulders. T'ka hardly noticed.
It was interesting what a wide berth people gave Haanyath when she passed. Was it possible because of the violence from her hatching? Were they still scared? Why? She had hurt that girl, but it wasn't like she would do it again, right? Haanyath wouldn't hurt someone. At least...T'ka didn't think she would. She'd never heard of a dragon hurting someone outside of a hatching. But she doubted there'd ever been a dragon quite like Haanyath before.
Haanyath stopped, a meter or two away from Khunoth. Glowering, eyes a light shade of red, she let out a warning, challenging hiss, surveying her much larger brother expectantly.
<him your brother, Haanyath?>>
<is my sibling. Most of them are not.>> T'ka got a strong sensation of Haanyath regarding most of the other dragonets with contempt. And now she was making sure of Khunoth? At least, that was what T'ka thought. Just like Haanyath to be fearless, challenging a brown like that. Not that they would fight, but...T'ka would hate to be on the recieving end of any blow from Haanyath. She was a little squat, but she was almost scarily muscled. And so vicious...
<>
The comment went unanswered. T'ka looked around, trying to see who the brown's human was. After she'd impressed, she'd been too distracted to really noticed who impressed and who didn't. Who could blame her?

Obviously, nothing much had changed about Anne. She was still permanently startled at just about everything. C’ym got the feeling that she----like himself---hadn’t yet come fully to terms with what had just happened. He briefly made a mental note to make sure she didn’t get her hands on some soup, just in case she really hadn’t changed.
Soup? What’s that? Hanumanth asked, curious about this strange word. Actually, he felt rather curious about this strange world now. There was so much going on! Those blue eyes of his attempted to focus on everything all at once, at least right up until he saw Yansanth. He tilted his head to one side and trilled at her worriedly, trying to figure out what was wrong. Completely oblivious to the idea that hiding might mean she didn’t want to see anyone, Han attempted to follow his sister.
Hi! I’m Hanumanth! the mental words were accompanied by a series of mewls once more.
“Oh! Right… it’s C’ym now. But I think I’ll answer to Cil too. And, uh… congrats on your Gold. She’s beautiful.” Also hiding, he noted, but that wasn’t too unusual for this clutch. Han had been shy too, at least at first, he recalled. “I think you could use a napkin to wipe off the rest of the ichor,” he added, seeing the green dragon blood at the hem of Anne’s dress.
He fed Lytah a few bits of meat, mostly to keep the firelizard’s mouth occupied. “It’s hard to believe that this has actually happened, isn’t it?”

Emori had carried Inannath to the feast. The green’s unusually tiny size made it easy, even though Emori was fairly small herself. The now ex-holder would rather not have come to this gathering, for many reasons. Though she was happier than she’d ever been before, she was trying to fend off the grief of losing her previous life. She’d never be welcome at her uncle’s hold again, now that she was a dragonrider.
She came to the tables that had been reserved for the new weyrling pairs and older dragonriders, noting how talkative everyone was. Having alienated or ignored most of the other candidates, Emori sat on the end of a bench where she wouldn’t have to be in the way of anyone’s conversations. Oh, fardles. She didn’t belong here. She’d openly expressed her dislike of weyrfolk in general, and now she had to live among them as a perfect hypocrite.
Lying across her lap, Inannath lifted her head, eyes whirling with flecks of anxious yellow. Why so pensive, Emori? This is a time for celebration! What is troubling you? Has your Inannath failed somehow? Foundered? Botched?
Startled by the voice in her mind, the girl looked down at the little dragon. She’d never expected that they could be able to speak right out of the shell, and it amazed her that Inannath seemed even more eloquent than she was. “You didn't do anything wrong,” she assured the small beast, speaking out loud because she didn’t yet grasp the idea of speaking with her mind alone. Awkwardly, she petted the length of her bonded's side as one would pet a canine, until the dragonet nudged her hand with her head, insistently offering her eyeridges for scratching.

Gh'lan had just managed to get within grasping distance of a nice fat cut of wherry thigh for Tada (and likely Khunoth once he smelled it) when a bone chilling bugle-hiss echoed through his skull... both mentally and physically. He spun around, dropping his plate when his fingers stopped working as they were supposed too, since he knew, instantly, who that voice belonged too.
KHUNOTH!
He couldn't see the little brown, but he could see Tada's spotted hide fluttering in the air. Seeing him, the little green darted straight for him, slamming into his shoulder with a terrified shriek. Stunned, the young brownrider reached up to calm the little green as she attempted to blend in with his hair just as another loud hiss washed over him. Thoughts and emotions battered through his head, and the new dragonrider had some trouble figuring out which came from his dragon, and which came from his lizard. He'd never thought that the dragons could become so primeval, but Khunoth was disproving all of the theories of draconic benevolence with every hiss and ignored query from his rider. Dammit, and the brown was IGNORING him!
KHUNOTH! You overgrown wherry what did you do!
Now HE was angry, Gh'lan, the ever cheerful. Ignoring looks of shock and outrage from those around him, he stepped over the remains of his dinner and strode with purposeful steps to the last place he had left the brown. Tada's shivering increased the closer he got, and perversely, that made him angrier.
It was about half way to the table that Khunoth finally deigned to bespeak his rider, his own outrage echoing his riders.. though for a far different reason.
SHE is here. Hissed. Hissed at ME. I am angry.
Hardly a reason to put a damper on the party, and even less of a reason to scare the wits out of poor little Tada. Which 'she?' You had better not be speaking so ill of the young queen Khunoth! Absurdly, he knew that picking a fight with bronzes and their queens would likely be the story of his life once Khunoth matured, but did he really have to start in on that NOW?
I would never disrespect a Queen dragon. The brown replied heatedly, and Gh'lan mentally took a step back. Alright, so perhaps just picking fights with bronzes then... but still.
It is Haanyath and Haanyath's rider. Khunoth finally added, followed by another rolling hiss just as Gh'lan finally managed to get through the crowd and see what exactly was going on.
From the looks of things, Haanyath had taken it into her head to invade Khunoth's personal space. A relative thing, that 'space,' since Khunoth changed it to suit who was approaching. But by the way the brown had mantled with his wings buzzing, his posture proud and defensive at the same time.. he did not want the green any closer then she already was. Which was, Gh'lan noted with a grimace, a good meter away.
"Khunoth, behave yourself... this is a Feast! A HAPPY time!" He said aloud this time, namely to let the green's rider know who and where he was, and also to hopefully persuade the brown to stop embarrassing him in public like this. "And she isn't even CLOSE to you!"

Bondyeth nearly left H'dek behind when it was time for the feast. He had lost track of Mo a while back, after he had been shuffled off the sands to feed his bronze. The new weyrling rather hoped his friend would be at the feast, but it seemed like he was expected to sit with all the other newly Impressed and their hatchlings. Ah, well. A chance for new friends, right?
H'dek noticed the girl sitting on the edge of a bench, just her and her green. Why was she all alone? He frowned and tipped his head.
"Come 'ere, Bondyeth," he said, still not entirely used to the idea of mindspeak.
Come where? Where are we going? the bronze demanded, following after His as he approached Emori and her green. Why this way? I want to go see the Queen.
H'dek glanced back at Bondyeth, giving the bronze a puzzled look before he turned back to Emori. He offered the young woman a smile. "Are y'all 'lright, miss? Sittin' here all by yer lonesome?" he asked, his smile wavering between cheerful and concerned.
Bondyeth peered at Inannath suspiciously, giving a little snort as he tossed his head and sat next to his. Why were the socializing here, with a green? He really, really wanted to go see the Queen.

T'ka watched with frustration as Haanyath bristled, and the brown grew agitated. Strong or not, Haanyath was a green, and she would get her butt kicked by a brown. When she was starting to worry about stepping in and breaking it up, or trying to drag Haanyath away, two things happened simultaneously.
First off, she heard Ghilani. What was he so frustr-OH! Khunoth was his dragon?!? Of all the luck. She had hoped not to look too bad in front of the person, but of course the little brown's rider had to be someone she knew. And now Ghilani must think her incapable and stupid. Damn. That was one less person to know.
However, that was only the first of two things. After that brief moment of agression, Haanyath almost seemed to gag; a raspy, coughing sound coming out of her. It was one of the weirdest noises T'ka had ever hear, until she realized...Haanyath was laughing.
<my brother!>> She conveyed to her rider, as if anyone who had relation to her was as good as royalty. She chirruped at Khunoth, and dropped her hostile posture, but ignored his warning, and took a little step closer, peering at him with a mixture of curiousity, and frustration. The latter likely due to the fact that he was so much larger than her.
"By the queen's egg, Haanyath, leave him be!" Exclaimed T'ka, frustrated. She didn't want to come across as incompetent, and unable to handle her dragon. Hopefully, after seeing how she was when she had hatched though, people might give her a little credit? It wasn't like she wanted Haanyath to make a fuss.
<> replied the little green, as if Khunoth's body language wasn't clear enough. <>
<>
<> T'ka sighed, and bit her tongue. She didn't even take time to question why the green had reverted to third person. She was busy thinking up ways to apologize to Ghilani. Or...whatever his name was, now that he undoubtedly shortened it.

There were no true words for how grateful she wasn't serving this Feast. All the people, all the adorable young dragons, there was too much everywhere! Stretching her neck, it was a vain attempt to see over the huge amount of people for a familiar face. There was one solution, finding an empty place on the nearest bench; she boldly stood up on it enjoying the easier view.
The first person that caught her attention was the S'kagi, his way of hiding one side of his face, now she understood, was pretty distinctive. No matter what understanding might be brought, she still could never forget what he looked like. Quickly looking elsewhere, Cil made it easy to find him, nicely standing next to Annie as he was, two people one glance. Still scanning she saw the man she sat next to in the Candidate class, but the last face she couldn't find. Where was Elae? Worried the girl might be heartbroken over not Impressing, or getting into trouble/plotting against Cil without her, she quickly hopped down from her perch and worked her way through the crowd.
Firmly avoiding the grumpy green, she otherwise greeted everyone she passed with a smile and a gentle touch if she needed to get around them. About the time she could see Cil and Annie clearly, as well as their large bondeds, she smiled and sped up, "Annelie! Who is your new friend?" Teasingly, she smiled to Cil as if she had never met him, though the grin could betray her pretty quick. "Has anyone," Still playing like she didn't know Cil, "seen Elae? She didn't Impress so I was hoping to see if she was taking it alright." You have to look out for your friends, and those of the Weyr.

Khunoth's posturing did not desist with Haanyath's obvious approval, in fact his temper only appeared to flare brighter as she took a step towards him and chirruped. Khunoth was not a dragon to be trifled with by ANYONE, let alone a green! The perceived insult to his ego was almost too much for him to take, so he took a menacing step towards her, his bright eyes flashing red. There was not a bone in his body that acknowledged her bravery in challenging him, since to his estimation, the thought should have never occurred to her!
Your rider will not make MY rider do anything Haanyath! The brown boomed, the sound made all the more comical by his stature and clumsiness as he attempted to rear back on his hind legs. YOU should listen to your rider some more and learn some-!! He added, just as Gh'lan wrapped his arm around the hatchling's neck and shoulders to pull him away.
"Enough Khunoth! Take it easy, she didn't mean anything by it." The young brownrider said, dropping his voice into a soothing tone that had always worked on Tada. He had been a tad bit surprised to see Tseka here, until he remembered that she was the one who had Impressed Haanyath right before Khunoth had found him on the Sands. Now he just looked over at her and smiled faintly in apology. "Right? No harm done? We can all eat in peace?"

Inannath was still getting her eyeridges scritched when H’dek and his bronze came over. She ignored them at first, crooning with bliss, until her rider’s comforting touch left her. Blinking with dismay, she looked up to see Emori giving the young man a half-hearted smile.
“I’m just fine,” Emori lied, but her voice was utterly smothered as her tiny dragonet jumped to her feet and let out a piercing trill of glee at the sight of her bronze brother.
Greetings, salutations! she sang to him, stretching her neck out to try and touch noses with him. I would recognize your splendiferous hide anywhere. Did you know you are incredibly interesting? Well, you are! From the moment I spotted you on that lovely warm sand, I said to myself, ‘that fellow is positively fascinating!’
Able to hear everything her Inannath was saying, Emori just… stared.

Haanyath smirked inwardly. She'd won. Her brother was no baby though. He was a dragon! She was born into a clutch of Whers and Flits. It was nice to see she could count on someone to act like they should. She exhaled, turning around and marching back to T'ka, and leaned against her rider's leg, eyes dashed through with orange, obviously amused, and not at all put off by Khunoth's aggression. <>
<> Haanyath replied to her rider, sounding quite sure.
T'ka smiled apologetically at Ghilani, but inwardly, glowed with pride at her dragon. Brave and foolhardy as she as, little Haanyath had guts to challenge a brown like that. T'ka could have used some of that back when she was a smith. Too bad Haanyath lacked any sort of Tact of Subtlety. "You'll have to pardon Haanyath, she's just...abrasive.
T'ka ingored her. Thankful that Ghilani couldn't hear their exchanges. "I would welcome peace with open arms..." T'ka rubbed her temples with her thumb and index finger, as if smoothing away tension and trouble. 'But it seems Haanyath likes to cause a fuss no matter what she's doing."
<>
<>
<> But T'ka could understand. Being a green...who would expect anything from her? She was a girl, she was common, she was deformed, unwanted. She had to assert herself to make sure she was noticced. She could be a queen! But no one believed in her potential. T'ka knew the feeling.
"Do you mind if I sit next to you? I don't think Haanyath wants to leave Kunoth alone, and I'd rather be here to keep an eye on her, to try and keep her out of your hair..." She held out a hand for shaking and smiled, trying to get rid of some of the mortification and embarassment she had but a few moments before, courtesy of Haanyath.
"Normally I would adress you as Ghilani, but I have a feeling you're not Ghilani anymore, eh? I'm T'ka," she chuckled. How absurd and strange all of this was.
<> Haanyath exclaimed, more to herself than anyone. Obviously annoyed that the only attention she was getting was negative, and that she seemed wholy unappreciated.
<> Haanyath's returned thought was more of a grumble than anything else.

L'an looked up when La joined him. Another of the candidates with a green, he nodded to her and motioned to the seat she seemed content to take. "Not at all, please." He nudged Alcherath with his knee, and the dazed green blinked out of her stupor to look around at her sister. "Say hello, Alcherath," L'an prompted with a smile.
...
"...Alche, say hi to your clutchsibling."
...Who?
"Your clutch sibling, Alche. Right there!" L'an offered an apologetic look to La and shrugged. "Sorry, I think she's a bit tired. You know, newborn and all..."
...Oh, right. Hi, I'm Alcherath. Nice to meet you! The green bobbed her head to her slightly larger sister before returning to resting her head on L'an's knee. "Oh, good enough I suppose. Here love." L'an quickly shredded some fried fish that he'd intended for himself and slipped it down to his girl. She gobbled it up quickly, and after another half a fish he finally had to cut her off.
"She's so hungry...Heh. I'm still not used to the idea. She. I love her though. And I'm glad. How about you?"
