Not a big deal? What did he mean, not a big deal? His so-called brother treated him like dirt--at least, that much was implied--and it wasn't a big deal? Oh boy... "Tell me, then." Texas leaned forward, placing his elbows on his knees. "Why did you seem tense when I repeated that phrase?"

Texas was naturally concerned. He tended to become a fatherly or brotherly figure to most people in his life, and it seemed the pattern was continuing. It was just in his considerate nature. "Yes, I am concerned. If your brother's treating you like a slave, I wouldn't feel right letting you go back to your home, if that's what you call it." The demonic quirked a brow. Something about that name and the reference to Yukio's brother rubbed him the wrong way.

"Because it's a pet name that he gave from affection." Yukio tapped Texas's nose. "I told him I wouldn't tell anyone and I let it slip." This wasn't true in the least, but he was doing all he could to make it sound that way.

Just as naturally as the other was concerned, the angel was concerned over his well being at this point. Not making his brother angry meant he could live peacefully, whereas running away would mean a harsh punishment when he got back. "I don't live with him, no where near him anymore. He just keeps chasing me around the mountain." He smirked, trying his best to be convincing. "If you don't feel right letting me return home, there's really not much you can do anyway. I'll overheat down here, and almost anywhere else during most of the year." This much he figured Texas had to have been forgetting. There was a reason he lived on the mountain and it wasn't because of Phim.

That was one of the reasons why a relationship between Yukio and Texas would probably never work, even though Magnus and Criofan had set them up. Texas adored the heat, the sun, and everything about summer. For the person he was talking to at the moment, it was just the opposite. "Well, if you're sure." Yukio seemed pretty insistant that things were alright and peachy-keen between his creepy, weird brother who referred to him as a slave and the snowy Pae'il who ran around the mountains to stay away. Honestly, that didn't sound like a good life, but Yukio seemed fine with it right now.

The demonic decided it was time to move to another topic. Clearly, trying to convince Yukio that this situation was not okay wasn't very effective. "To your other question," it seemed Texas had noticed, "I have a lot of adoptive siblings. With Okeanos' recent birth, that makes six, plus me makes it seven."

He gave Texas a soft smile, trying to reassure him that he was fine. "If you're that worried I'll come and visit.. If we're near a beach during the warmer months." Yukio chuckled, he liked the sun as well though the cold was best for him.

Still smiling, Yukio closed his eyes, leaning gently against Texas. "Sounds like fun. Do you get along with everyone in your family?" He asked, opening his eyes now to look at him, ready to move at the slightest hint of discomfort.

It was a bit odd to have this man he just met leaning on him, but Texas didn't shrug him off. Perhaps it was comforting the man in any case. "I'd say pretty well. We have our problems," this happened to be a good example of their problems, "but overall we generally have each other's backs in this world. It's rather nice."

"Do you have any other siblings? Besides ones that call you totally unnecessary and degrading names?" Texas quirked a brow. He wasn't quite going to let this idea of a brother that called him a slave go so easily, but he wasn't making it the topic of the conversation. The demonic would just bring it up...

"That's a good thing." He smiled, sitting back up now. "Thank you for letting me lean on you." Yukio chuckled, not leaning against him again. No reason to chase him away with the odd things he did with others.

"I think just the one. I have a few people who treated me like family when I first started running though." Those pae were the nice ones. He was quick to pass over the mention of the bad things about Phim. If he kept talking about him it risked the other being attacked. "For the sake of your ears, can we not talk about Seraphim?" If he was that concerned, that was the key to starting to track him at least.

For the sake of his ears? This was getting weirder and weirder. "Is he capable of making me deaf or something?" Didn't Esmee's fiancee go deaf for some reason? ...Nah, couldn't be. But if it was, that would be horrifying. This 'Phim' Yukio referred to seemed to have some serious problems.

"Once you answer me that, I'll drop it." Unless it really was this Phim's fault that Bneut was deaf. Then there was another problem. At least they were generally away from each other now, as far as Yukio claimed, but this was sounding worse and worse every time Yukio opened his mouth about it.

"Yes, he can." He stated, bitterly. "His voice gets very loud at his will, it's enough to cause a person to go deaf.." Yukio shook his head. "Bneut went deaf because he was in the wrong place at the wrong time. Imagine what he would do to you if he found out you knew all this information about him." The angelic sighed, really not wanting to endanger the other with this information.

"That's why I'm not living with him anymore, and why I really don't want to talk about him. You're a nice guy, you don't deserve to get hurt because of my mouth opening." Yukio looked back at Texas, "So if you ever meet a Seraphim, Phim, or Scott get away as fast as you possibly can."

So Texas's strange thought was correct? That was a bit unnerving, to say the least. When the demonic went to talk again, he sounded rather flat. "Really. It's Seraphim's," he assumed that was the full name, "fault that my sister's fiancee is deaf?" It seemed that Texas knew Bneut already.

"Better make sure Esmee doesn't find out," remarked Texas, "or she would probably go after him herself." That was all he needed. A deaf and blind as a bat sister with a deaf fiancee. How would that work out? While he knew Esmee's hearing had gotten better since her vision had gotten worse, how would she manage without much of either? "Understandable why you would rather lay off the subject."
PostPosted: Sat Mar 21, 2009 11:47 am

"Esmee won't know if you don't tell her." He smirked. "Bneut was too young to remember, and those who raised him don't know who did it." This at least was fortunate. And good for the newly engaged couple. Their kids only had to worry about blindness.

"Thank you." Yukio was very happy to know the subject was dropped. Enough endangering innocent pae. "Weather's still nice isn't it?" He smiled at his lame topic change.

Esmee's vision wasn't getting any better, but at least she should still vaguely see with her glasses on. It wasn't total blindness, and at least total deafness wasn't in their genetics. That was rather fortunate for whatever children they went on to produce. "Then Esmee will probably never know, and it's probably better that way."

Still nice? It was just beginning to get nice! Texas laughed. "While this was a pretty mild winter, I have to agree. The weather's getting a lot better." It seemed the demonic was drawn to the heat in the same way that the snowy Pae'il next to him had an aversion to it. "Aysu loves the cool weather and I'm not sure if I'll ever quite understand it."

"Mm.. It will be a warm summer this year won't it?" Yukio spoke, looking up at the sky as he did so. "The water is already warm right now too." He chuckled, the freezing temperature of the lakes and oceans being a good temperature for him. "It's probably still cold for you though isn't it?" The snowy pae chuckled, playing with the sand in front of them.

"The cool weather just seems more natural. Cold is easier for some to handle than warm, just like warm is easier to handle than cold for others." This much he had figured out a long time ago when he couldn't get people to come visit him wherever he was staying at the time.

Texas chuckled when Yukio remarked it was probably still cold for him. "Yeah, it still feels a bit chill out here. Winter is my least favorite of seasons and it just ended not long ago." The demonic shrugged his shoulders. "Of course," he turned to Yukio and smiled, "I'm not going to complain. For me, it's just good to be out of winter. For you, it's probably the opposite, but nevertheless." With a laugh, he turned to face the water.

"Well, the water's still pretty chilly, if you ever feel like you need to cool down." The demonic nodded. "It'll be a while before that warms up completely. I suppose it's a little of the cold you can have down here at the beach while it warms up."

"Summer is a good season as well." He smirked, "The winter is only favorable because I have more snow to work with." He did have a lot of snow still, though there was still some snow in the summer.. If he went to the peak.

"It'll be a while before the ocean warms up to where I can't cool off in it." The snowy pae chuckled, looking out at the water, forming a shape with the same he was playing with.

"Ah, so you work with the snow?" asked Texas, curiously, as he decided that he would inquire further. "Did the Guardians give you some kind of magical ability to do so, or is it just something you do for fun?" Ever since Texas had received a strange note from the Guardians, Texas had become more interested in seeing what powers others had. Before he was jealous, but now he was rather interested.

"Just curious is all." Texas smiled. "It's always interesting to hear what kinds of abilities other people have received. Everyone has such different things they bring to this Isle of Telrunya."
