Just a little update on NeoSteam: their beta test looks like it ought to be happening fairly soon as there are changes to the site today. They have a "Client coming soon!" notice up. I suggest you make an account now if you want to join in; it's free. (^_Q)
Closed betas are not always an indicator of how a game will turn out, cos not all the content will be added, or some companies provide tons of content, and then revamp it or take some features away and bring them back later once the CB is over.

From what I played of Sword of the New World (I think it was two years ago when it beta tested) it seemed quite steamy to me. I wasn't too fond of point and click rpgs and there really isn't any character customization, so I never stuck around. Not sure what it looks like now.
