A playful mused expression crossed her lips as she watched Vyn's unusual eyes take in the abstract for a second time. She seemed to be satisfied with the explanation Ebony had provided, yet was obviously more drawn towards that first image of the rose wrapped in darkness. It really was much like the Frei.
"Yes prints are very good both in price and quality, especially with today's technology. You could probably get some Kinkade's if Vyn's interested in starting a collection." A quick knowing wink to Ethan as she knew he didn't want to spend too much money. "Or better yet maybe from some lesser known artists as they could always use the patronage."
Ebony took a moment then, her thoughts going back to the resemblance between Vyn and the piece she wanted. Her curiosity finally winning, "Mr. Blake? I don't mean to be rude or anything, but...I was wondering...what were Vyn's essence and soul?"

The rose frei drifted away from the adults, her tattered ribbon rustled over the cold stone flooring of the art exhibition as she drifted from painting to painting. She was quite relaxed in this environment despite the presence of a fairly large assortment of humans. The art hall was a wide open space and thus Vyn didn't feel claustrophobic, neither was she harassed by the worry of close contact. Nobody really seemed to be staring at her either; all of the people were too intently gazing at the artwork to be mildly interested in her. Apparently it wasn't only paintings on display, sculptures were available for viewing too and the raevan wafted over to a large marble statue. It towered above her and she had to crane her neck to look at the finely chiselled expression. The body of the statue was genderless, although Vyn didn't know anything of what hid beneath the waist, but Vyn found it intriguing to study the piece of art. It was certainly different to the paintings.. Not beautiful as such but rather more impressive.
"Oh, of course." Ethan replied, nodding understandingly. He was always intrigued to know what the souls and essences of raevans, though he had never asked directly.. Instead he's pieced together bits of obvious information. Rivener for example had stinger wings that highly resembled a scorpion's tail, so he assumed the soul of the deadly insect had been used for his creation. Xiu was another frei that he could hazard a guess at, something oriental and rather regal; his limited knowledge on oriental fauna somewhat restricted his guessing though. He half considered forcing the woman into a similar guessing game, but that would both be impolite and slightly immature.
"The soul of a rose, the wild variety to be specific, and the essence of a living shadow. A peculiar mix to say the least.. Although the combination was quite successful."

Ah, so that explained the rose painting then. Ebony nodded in understanding as she watched the shadow Frei wander off on her own. "A very successful combination indeed. I suppose Doctor Kyou could pretty much take any soul and make it work with the guardian's corresponding essence."
Her face became thoughtful then as her mind raced through all the different types of souls she could try to capture and how the ending result would look. How any one decided what to go for was beyond her as there was just so many interesting combinations to entertain. Thinking out loud, "Well, however the Raevan turns out, I hope it's as pleasant and lovely as Vyn."
She smiled softly and turned to offer her hand once more to Ethan. "Thank you Mr. Blake, but I do believe I've taken up more than enough of your time. You have much to teach your ward and I shouldn't get in the way of that. I hope to meet you and Vyn again very soon."

The meeting drawing to a close was quite fortunate actually. Vyn's attentions certainly seemed to be drifting away from the art.. After examining the sculptures, some of which were no more than almost shapeless blobs ((modern art again?)) and others were finely crafted pieces that captivated Vyn with the perfectly shaped and detailed forms. However, they couldn't interest the rose frei forever and she'd wandered to a notice board, pondering which exhibit to look at next. There was all sorts of things to visit and if all of them where as interesting and relaxed as the art gallery she would very much enjoy the rest of her day at the museum. Perhaps the animal exhibit, that could be interesting... Or even the fossil collection, whatever that was?
"Yes, I am sure your raevan, when it is created, will be superb." Ethan agreed, before breaking into a warm smile. "And I'll stop taking up your time, you have work to do after all." He added, before taking himself to following his charge. Perhaps in the future he would see Ebony's raevan.. Now that would be interesting. A raevan of smoke.
