The rat watched Heath during the contract signing process. They were going to become quite a bit more 'acquainted' on this trip. Tail flicking he sipped his water, catching the smirk and returning it.
Demi sighed. He could only hope Obi managed to not get into too much trouble, but if Heath was with him, it was better than not? The cat waited as the two went through the contracts and drew up preliminary lists of what would needed. He collected it all and put it away neatly in the bag he carried.
"Alright. I will have a driver pick you two up. It will be at 8 o'clock AM sharp the day after tomorrow." He paused to look at the two, "Any questions?"

( wow, predatory much Obi? XDD )
Heath could feel Obi's eyes on him. He caught Tol's eye and the snake shot him a disgusted look. But the ox knew when it was time to work and when it was time to play.
And Tol was used to being the odd man out. It was the story of his life. Have fun, Heath. But if I end up pulling your weight you're going to pay for it one way or another. The naga had to get something out of this; after all, it had been Heath that dragged him in for this, even though he had wanted to retire. This time was going to be different, he'd said. This was obviously true in some ways, but some things never change.
"No questions."
Beside him, Heath shook his head as well.

((Don't worry, Tol! Emery will save you! 8D Eventually >> ))
Obi glanced at a clock on the wall then at Demi. He was pretty sure they had somewhere else to be today, but what did he know? He just went where Demi told him to go. Though, the rat was not really looking forward to the airplane ride. It would be long and boring, and he wasn't of flying really in general.
Demi gave a nod. "Alright. We will be seeing you in a couple days then." He looked at Obi, "Put your game face on, now, we've got 6 more stops to make."
The rat frowned and whined, "REALLY!? I thought I only had to do this today." He sighed thought stood and pulled his sunglasses off his head, muttering about the silly cat agent who worked him to the bone.
-------Fast forward to the plane-------
Demi put the carry-on luggage in the over head bin before picking his spot in the first class cabin he had reserved for just the four of them. There were more seats than four, but it didn't hurt to have it all to yourself. He sighed and muttered, "Here it goes ~" He ordered a Bloody Mary from the fight attendant just in case of the future, impending headache.
Obi only carried a couple things on to possibly entertain himself as they flew. Movies, music and cards. Ears flicking he glanced at the cabin, not sure what seat to take so he randomly chose one, not next to Demi. He could give him a break for the time being. He took his seat and buckled up, looking out the window curiously, though there was nothing but pavement and the little gator things that hauled luggage and airplane food.

This time when the ox and snake exchanged glances, they were biting back laughter. Obi's life sounded so difficult. They rose to their feet to see them out.
"Well, we'll see you in two days." Heath almost added the word 'boss,' but somehow he doubted Obi would be like a boss at all, not even for Tol.
Beside him, Tol remained silent and watchful. As annoying as Obi might prove to be, he was still responsible for his safety and he would take that job absolutely seriously.
- - -
Tol's seat was in the darkest area he could find, near the back. This he had claimed only after he and Heath had checked out the cabin. The corner he now sat in seemed much darker than it should have. His luggage carried enough artillery for a ten-man miniature army. In his carry-on were still more, plus emergency rations and a couple clean shirts and belts, and a book. This was just a novel, "easy reading" over a thousand pages long, though he also had a couple Castilian language books with him as a refresher. He could converse in several languages though he didn't look it at all, not when one could see his belts full of pockets (just what was in them?) and throwing knives.
By default, Heath had taken his seat nearer the front, to offset Tol's choice. Their job was to keep an eye on things, not to fraternize. However, Heath had no qualms with it at all. Sometimes going out for drinks, for example, is part of the job. He glanced out the window once or twice, but kept his attention mainly on his phone, which doubled as a high-powered camera, mp3 player, and internet hub with firewall. One of the perks of his job included fun little gadgets.

((Skip to some later time during the flight |D))
The rat had already finished a movie and had taken several small naps by now. It was dark outside (whether it was early morning or late night, he did not know) so the little light over head of his seat was on. He had made himself comfy and sprawled over two of the seats, after putting the arm up that was in the middle. There was a blanket that was stretched over his lap down to his feet as he'd gotten chilled during his naps.
The noise of shuffling cards could be heard as he planned to play yet another game of solitaire. He had figured out why it was, indeed, called solitaire; it was because it was a very solitary game, and very boring after the 10th or 11th round. The cabin was relatively quite besides the noise of the jet. He glanced up from his shuffling to see if any of his travel-mates were awake. Maybe if Heath was, he could convince him to play a game.
Demi was just kind of zoning out, his head leaning against the cool airplane window. There was nothing to look out at, so there was no point to stare out the window. Even stars seemed to have disappeared. His ears flicked hearing the shuffling again and glanced at the rat.
The cat shook his head before moving to pull out some paperwork he needed to finish before they landed. They were going to have a little under a 24 hours to recoup, before they were on the job again.

Heath was dozing in his seat most of the time. There wasn't much else to do; he liked to catch up on sleep rather than rely on adrenaline and instinct alone. One thing about Obi though was that he couldn't seem to do any one thing for very long, not even sleep. Admittedly though, despite it being first class there was not the comfort one would have had with their own bed. And so the sounds of fidgeting were frequent enough to grab Heath's attention.
Running his fingers through his hair he rose from his seat, stretched and yawned, then wandered over to where Obi was so unenthusiastically shuffling his deck of cards. To say the ox's gait was anything more than a saunter would have been an exaggeration, but he wore a faint, half-smirk as he addressed the rat. "You know, card games are always better with company. Want me to rouse the other two and we can play a real game of cards."
Tol on the other hand had gotten rather bored and had started dismantling pens. He was still one or two short to make a full set of blow darts. He looked up and glanced around, catching sight of the feline agent, Demi. He seemed to have pulled some paperwork out. White collar types always seemed to have office supplies on them.
Before Demi could really get into his current sheet of paper, the air behind him seemed to thicken with chilly dread and despair: Tol was leaning over his seat back, waiting for him to notice.

Obi just didn't sleep well on planes; sure, he got naps in obviously, but they were short and sometimes that was worse than just staying awake. He'd probably pass out when they finally landed, though he had learned to only sleep on the ground once it is the proper time wherever you landed, otherwise it's a harder time adjusting.
Ears perking, he watched as Heath stood up and meandered over. He quirked a brow at the half smirk, then mirrored it. He perked to look over his seat to see Tol loom over Demi, "It looks like they're awake." Of course he knew Demi better than to say he would join them for cards because he'd already pulled out his papers. Once the papers were out, there was little Demi would do besides that.
The cat was reading something as he got a chill and shivered, his tail poofing a little. It felt like a weight of despair had just been set on his shoulders; it was very uncomfortable. He paused in his work feeling like the light he was using had dimmed and glanced up before fulling looking up to the snake who was once again looming over him. He let out a noise of surprise having not heard or felt anything on his seat to hint that Tol had been awake nor so close. WHY DID HE DO THAT!? He couldn't help and squirm a little, "Why.... may I ask, do you do that?" Shivering again he asked, "Is there... something you need?"
Regardless, Obi pulled his legs back to himself so that Heath could sit if he wanted, using a hand to gesture to the now leg-free seat. "Card games a most definitely better with company. However, I highly doubt Demi would be interested." He smirked then teased, "Hey, Demiii ~ want to play some strip poker?"
The feline attention was pulled from Tol as he looked over at Obi with a frown and a very obviously disapproving look, "Obi!"
"Just kiiiidding~" He turned his attention back to Heath and smirked, "Maybe." But it was a small area and it wouldn't be as fun as if they had more room. Though, Obi had liked Heath's hat, even though it didn't seem to be on the others' head at the moment. It didn't need to be strip poker, they could play anything and it would be better than Solitaire. Maybe 'Go Fish'? (joking)

Heath followed Obi's glance and nodded. "Tol and I might nap now and then but it's best to get acclimated to the new time zone as soon as possible." He glanced back at the rat for a moment, "You're probably used to that philosophy too, huh?"
"Why do I do what? I am merely standing here." Tol watched Demi's reactions impassively. It was not that he was going out of his way to terrify one of his employers, but it could neither be said that he never got amusement from it. Cats especially have this talent where their fur stands completely on end. He wondered idly if it really felt as thick as a chinchilla or if it was merely a survivalist's illusion. "Yes, I was wondering if you had any spare pens. I wanted a complete set for my collection." He held up a fist, and between each pair of fingers was a mutilated pen. Most chilling perhaps was the surgical quality of each slice into the plastic, thus creating an accurate weapon.
He glanced up when Obi called Demi's name. The tip of his tail swiped behind him on the floor. Cards? Strip poker? An image of Obi and Heath playing striptease for each other flashed before his eyes. "Pass," he hissed in an undertone, voice deep and vaguely annoyed.
Heath's initial surprise at Obi's suggestion was overshadowed by amusement. It would seem that he liked giving Demi a bad time. Then he heard Obi's "maybe" and chuckled. "Well, maybe another time for that. Hotel rooms are much larger than this cabin. So another game for today then?"

Obi nodded at the question of his philosophy on getting acclimated to new time zones. "It comes with traveling so much." He gave a small smile. It was a love hate relationship with his job and it probably always would be. But it was that way with anything, right? He tried his best not to take his life for granted because he obviously got more than everyone else, but it got tiring.
The said now fluffy tail waved a little, flopping next to the feline as he watched Tol, mildly skeptical. He couldn't help it. Reaching a hand out he tried to smooth down the fur, but it was a failed attempt. He frowned then looked back at Tol; he'd expected the answer he'd gotten and sighed. He left his tail to be fluffy as he asked, "Collection...?"
Demi's eyes widened a little, then narrowed, "Why, may I ask, (though I may not want to know), are you sitting back there mutilating pens?" It gave the cat the heeby-jeebies. He and Obi were going to have a little talk about his choice in bodyguards. He needed a drink. Or maybe a couple.
Obi watched Heath and smiled, "My sentiments exactly." Their 'hotel room' Heath referred to was most likely in the biggest hotel and it would probably be some pent house sweet that could room them all. His tail flicked as he finished shuffling. "What's a good two person game? Anything in mind?" Unless Tol wanted to join something not strip poker. They could play gambling games, but they weren't as fun if there were no wagers.

Heath nodded, "I can imagine." He glanced over at Demi and Tol. What are they doing? "I hope Tol isn't harassing your agent... sometimes he can't resist getting a rise out of people."
"I was bored." Tol watched Demi, wondering how long he would continue to be so predictable. He lowered his hand near Demi's mid-chest region so he could see the craftsmanship, if it could be called that when referring to an old throw-away pen. "They're blow darts. The ink well can be filled with a variety of poisons. I can also make throwing knives out of shards of glass that won't slice up your hand."
He smirked, speaking in smooth, quiet tones as he slipped around to sit beside Demi. He leaned close, conspiratorially and likely deepening the cat's instinctual sense of dread. "Aren't you lucky your doll-boy over there has a surprising eye for economy and good quality. Not only did he find the two most deadly agents, but we're a good team." He glanced over to Obi and nodded to indicate him. "Heath makes such a good distraction, doesn't he? Obi will never realize when he's in danger. You should be thankful that while other agents would have tried to seduce him, he's actually not complete scum, and he would not start feeling... entitled, if you know what I mean."
Heath's gaze flicked briefly to the other two and noticed Tol sitting beside Demi now. He had a feeling of plotting going on between the two, or something like that. He'd have to go check on the agent later. He scratched an ear. "Maybe... Gin or 66? Gin uses a full deck and 66 is 24 cards."

Obi looked over too, curious. He shrugged, "He'll be fine. He is fun to get a rise out of; I don't blame Tol one bit." Though, he watched quietly a moment. Tol was dark and creepy, but he wouldn't do anything to his employer.
Demi's tail flicked again, looking at the Tol's hand that was lowered, showing him what he'd made. He frowned and shivered. This was absurd! "So you want to destroy some of my pens, so I can supply you with more lethal weapons?"
His hair stood on end when Tol sat next to him and he stared at him. He spotted his tail again and growled a little, fussing with it until Tol leaned closer. Why did he feel so dreadful? Pausing in his fussing he listened to the snake. Demi frowned and looked from Obi to Tol, "I'm glad you two can work well as a team. As far as him picking someone else who would seduce him, you aren't his first pair of bodyguards." Granted, these were the oddest ones he'd picked.
The cat leaned down to his bag and pulled out a couple pens he didn't care for and offered them to the snake, "Finish your blow dart collection..." His gaze wandered to Obi and Heath again though. He did feel bad for the rat on some levels, even if he bothered him. There was a reason he was still the other's agent. They worked well together too, and Demi didn't mind Obi and his silly antics, even if it would drive him to drinking.
"Gin is good." Obi grinned then started to shuffle out the cards for what they needed to play.

Heath nodded to Obi's reply, but watched the rat seem to hesitate as if uneasy about Tol. "Hey. Tol just likes to tease, near as I can tell that's what it is anyway. He won't harm or allow any harm to come to either of you."
Tol shrugged. "A few pens. It costs far less than some of my favorite artillery and shells," he grinned wickedly, fangs contrasting sharply with his smoky scales and clothing.
He nodded. "He acted as if choosing bodyguards was familiar enough to him, though that could be an act. You however know what you're doing for sure." He paused, hesitating on something, before finally asking, "And what of the others? What happened to his previous bodyguards?" The answer could be very helpful, depending on several factors.
He took the pens as they were offered; all of them disappeared into a hidden pocket.
"Sounds good. You know how to play Gin then?" Heath asked casually, wondering if he actually did, or if he just liked the name of the game.

Obediah glanced at Heath, ear flicking curious. He smirked a little and gave a shrug, "Like I said, he's easy to get."
Demi was continuously reminded how creepy Tol was. He squirmed a little in his seat, then fussed with the papers he had out. "I've been doing this for a long time." He'd had Obi for most of the rat's career. The cat glanced to Tol at the question about previous bodyguards. "A couple just didn't work out. Had one breach their contract... Nothing really drastic has happened so far, so your job is just for comfort." Granted, the big break that was coming up, made the cat a little more nervous because Obi hadn't in fact had such a large appearance so far.
"You're for scare tactics against potential threats and in case of stalkers or haters. That's about it. I don't suspect anything else to come up."
"I do." Obi smirked and nodded at the question. He finished dealing out the cards and glanced at Heath.

Naturally Tol wanted to know which breach of contract had been made. His main interests were in any casualties, a figure that would not have affected his decision to become a bodyguard in the first place; or anything involving Obi's personal life. The latter was only relevant to him because it could be relevant to Heath, but he was not going to pry on the matter. The most important thing to gear up for was that everything could turn on its ear once Obi's show took place. That was why their contracts were open-ended. If Obi became a sensation he might actually need more bodyguards; if he flopped out there, he might need none at all.
Tol glanced back at Demi and rose from his chair. "I know my place. We will be look for the best scenario to occur and prepare for the worst. Perhaps it is ironic that if Heath and I have little to do then Obi is in a different sort of trouble," he grinned slyly. He tipped his head into a nod before leaving Demi to his paperwork.
Heath nodded and bobbed his head slowly. It gave an oddly vague notion of tipping one's hat, which he was missing due to their being indoors. "Good then, we can jump right into the game." Since Obi was the dealer, Heath went first. He glanced at his cards and the up card then pulled a card from the stock pile and looked at Obi. His face was devoid of expression.

-----after the plane flight------- The ride from the airport hadn't been nearly as tedious as the flight over to the country, but it had been the home stretch, and Obi couldn't help but one, fidget, and two, be totally exhausted. It was an interesting mix.Demi lead the way to the suite they would occupy for the next couple weeks. They had a bellboy trailing, helping with the luggage both he and Obi teamed up on packing. He opened the door to the very large suite and tipped the bellboy as he set all their luggage in the entry way. The suite had more than enough room for all of them: rooms for each person along with a full size living room, kitchen, dining room, bar, hot tub, and small exercise room with free weights and cardio machine. It also had at least two bathrooms with baths, not including the master bathroom. Yep, big enough for them and an army. Glancing at Tol and Heath the cat purred a little, "Make yourselves at home. There is a room for each person ~" The rat carried a piece of luggage as he went to scope out the area. No matter how many times he stayed in places like this, the layout was always a little different. He and Demi normally played rock, paper, scissors for the master bedroom, but there appeared to be a office/bedroom he knew the cat would much rather have. So, he went forth and put what he had on the big bed that occupied his current 'home'.
Tail flicking he paused and stepped out on the balcony that gave a fantastic view of the city. He smiled a little and leaned on the railing as he looked at the lights. The day was already ending here and Obi didn't have a clue how long he'd actually been up. He sighed and rested his head on his arms as he gave a yawn. Traveling was still very disorienting to him.((random, but I kind of used this layout + a bedroom. If it matters ~))
