"Noooooo!" Jini whined, flopping on top of her brother. Why was he asking such difficult questions? He was doing it on purpose! "I dun want you to leave me - and you won't. 'Cause that's mean and I'll tell Momma."
She paused again, flashing a playful grin to him as he spoke once more, nuzzling his nose fondly as she clambered off of him, allowing him up. "Yeah! 'Cause big brothers aren't supposed to cry, but I wanna prove you wrong!"

"Tell Momma?" Tamu rolled his eyes at the thought. If -- when he decided to leave, he'd be able to. Besides, he liked being a cub too much, and he loved depending on his mother. For now.
"No, big brothers can cry, especially when they have such hateful little sisters who want to leave their brothers!" he pushed her away a bit, trotting a little faster, trying to entice a run.

Jini wasn't one to think of travelling - right now, she loved her family too much to leave them. If she'd known Tamu's plans to leave, it was likely she would've cried at the thought. She didn't want to loose him, nor did she want to leave her mother and sister.
And in fact, she did start crying. As Tamu started trotting away she found herself frozen to the spot by his words, lower lip quivering as the delicate, impressionable young cub found tears rising in her eyes once more. "I...I-I'm not hateful."

Tamu rolled his head back, closing his eyes as he sighed deeply.
Why did this always seem to happen?
"You're crying? Again?" he laughed under his breath a little, slowly walking back to where she stood. "Why do you cry about everything? If you're gonna be my sister, you've gotta toughen up!" he smiled, curving his eyebrows sympathetically. He knew that he, himself wasn't tough at all, but he wanted to give off that impression to her. He didn't like how the other boys teased him for his colors and girlish voice, but when he was with his sister, he always wanted to seem bigger than life.
"C'mon, let's keep going, you fuzz ball." he wrapped his tail around her back leg and pushed her along.

Jini didn't stop crying this time. Instead, her bottom lip quivered further as a tear broke through her eyelids, streaming down her face. It was followed by another, then another, even beginning to shake a little. She was a delicate creature - a delicate fairy, her mother called her. And it was true - it dind't take much to upset little Jini.
"B-But you said I-I-I was hateful!" she blubbered, trying her best to look tough. But...well, she failed.

"Hateful?" Tamu did remember calling her that, but thought he had come across a little different. "Well, if you're planning on leaving me to fend on my own out in the big, bad world, then you might be considered that." he smirked, and his tone was sarcastic and playful. "Maybe you'll just have to prove to me that you're not hateful." he wiggled his eyebrows, proud of his challenge.

Jini gave a small, innocent nod as Tamu repeated the word, still shivering a little. It felt really cold all of a sudden - she dind't like it. She wanted to go home, now. "B-B-But I wasn't! I was just p-playing! I'm not hateful, I p-promise!"
Her blubbering had turned into full sobs, so much so that she didn't hear his challenge.

"Silly thing, you." Tamu turned his sister around, planning on bringing her back to his mother. She'd know how to make it stop. "You know I love you, right?" he really meant it, with all his heart. He just wish that she'd stay with him, for always.

Jini nuzzled her brother, whimpering softly as she willingly turned, walking with him back towards the den their mother live din, with the three cubs. She whined, purring softly as he spoke, smiling softly as she nuzzled his cheek.
"...I love you too, Tamu."
