Maura let him lead her to the water and carefully knelt at his side so that he would tend to her hands. When he asked her what she had been doing in the trees, however, she bit her lip. Despite everything, she had a strong sense of justice. And what was right would be to tell the truth, no matter how it made her look.
"I... I was taking a walk... And I heard a splash and I saw you and..." And she pressed her hands to her face, attempting to cover her blush and the shame of spying on him. What had gotten into her lately?

Nightwing dipped his hands into the icy water for a moment before rubbing her wrists carefully. His fingers moved in soothing circles trying to rub the painful feelings away from her wrists. His claws tenderly traced along her skin as he rubbed.
He looked at her curiously and frowned as she pulled her hands away to cover her face. Maura never hid, but she really seemed ashamed why would she be? His eyes widened as he realized, she had been watching him? Spying on him? He felt his own cheeks heat wondering how much she had seen or worse heard.
"Oh..." He murmured dumbly.

"I'm so sorry, Nightwing! I didn't mean to, but you... I mean... I couldn't help it," Maura replied slowly, her words muffled by her hands. She hoped that he would forgive her, but she still felt horrible over her deliberate breach of his privacy.
"I'm so sorry..." she repeated, unable to come up with any more to say. She wouldn't ask for his forgiveness, she couldn't bring herself to. In truth, she didn't truly regret what she did, deep down. Part of her liked knowing that she was on his mind, even though it sounded like she was plaguing him. Was she really that bad?

He chuckled and pulled her hands down gently rubbing her wrists. "It's alright Maura, I'm sure you weren't going to attack me or anything. Besides I'm glad you found me, saved me the effort of looking for you."
He smiled at her reassuringly and brushed her hair back "Why do I seem to make you so nervous? I'm not going to hurt you..." He chuckled and moved to stand. "Your wrists feel better?"

Maura sighed as Nightwing rubbed her wrists. It was actually helping, not only to relieve the pinch the fall had caused. She smiled at his comment and slowly shook her head.
"I know you won't hurt me, not on purpose. I... I guess I just feel bad for watching you. It's wrong to eavesdrop and spy, especially on your friends," she replied and looked off.
"I... I'm not really myself around you. I mean, normally I'm very sure of myself and controlled and... And with you I can't really keep my own thoughts straight. I don't understand it, but I don't... I don't really mind it so much," she tried to explain, shaking her head a bit again. At least he didn't seem upset with her. That was definitely a good thing.

He chuckled and stroked her hair "I admit I've wanted to watch you before, guess now I get a free card?" He chuckled and let her wrists go glad to see she wasn't in pain anymore.
"I have to admit you throw me a bit off balance too Maura, I'm...I've never had such a good friend before." Or one so pretty he thought to himself.
"Anyway...I wanted to find you to see if you would go with me for a little gliding patrol? The moon is perfect, full, and so big it seems to take up half the night sky, it's my favorite!"

Maura's face darkened to a lovely shade of red and her eyes widened.
"Well... I, uh, guess it's only fair..." she replied, her almost obsessed with fairness and whatnot side taking over before she could sensor it. She did her best to clear her mind again and focus on his request. She nodded and smiled sweetly.
"That sounds like a wonderful idea! I'd be happy to join you."

Nightwing laughed as her face flushed with color, he had to admit no matter what color she turned she still looked pretty. "Don't worry Maura I wouldn't do that to you, besides you might spot me and die of shock and then I would really be in trouble!" He smiled and brushed at her hair again with his claws, he couldn't seem to help himself, he loved to touch the silky strands.
"Lets go then..." He nodded and moved to head up the cliff for a better launching point for their glide.

"I'm starting to think part of me wouldn't mind so much..." Maura whispered under her breath as they started walking toward the cliffs. Her blush remained as she considered how she would feel if she caught him watching her as she went for a swim or something. Actually, she didn't really swim much, so it was kind of a moot subject.
So she focused on something else, like how he had once again run his claws over her hair. She liked it when he stroked her hair like that. It made her feel... cared about. It wasn't something anyone had ever really done before.

Nightwing grinned as they moved higher, he felt as if they could glide to the moon, he was in such high spirits with Maura at his side again. He pulled himself up and turned to offer her hind hand, he knew she was strong enough to pull herself up no sweat, but he liked to touch her.
He swatted certain naughty touching images from his mind and tried to focus again. He had to find a way to overcome his curse, it had never given him so much trouble, well it had but he had embraced it and used it happily. Now he was afraid to do so, he wanted more then instant satisfaction.
"Isn't the night perfect, so bright..."

Maura gladly took his offered hand, allowing him to help her up. She could admit that she liked touching him as well. She'd never really noticed the difference between the males and females, but with all the time she was spending with his she was starting to see the differences. The subtle strength, the hand that was so much bigger than hers, and yet he could be so gentle when he stroked her hair back or wrapped one wing around her or when he rubbed her wrists to ease the pain away.
"Perfect..." she whispered in agreement as she looked out into the night sky. It was a beautiful sight to behold, and she couldn't ask for a better person to share it with.

Nightwing smiled and stroked her palm before moving to leap from the cliff and spread his wings. He dropped low before gliding up with ease a soft current carrying him out away from the water and past the forest to clearer lands.
He twisted gracefully in the air to circle Maura and grinned. "You know the best part of tonight?"

Maura leaped off with Nightwing, following him as he flew towards less forested areas. She smiled at him as he circled her and turned her head to better keep her vision on him as he glided around her.
"What?" she asked, her head tilted a bit curiously.

He swooped low plucking up a closed bud of what might have been a rose in the sunlight, the petals were only mildly puckered outward. He smiled and landed before holding to rosebud up to where she glided above him.
"Sharing it with you..."

Maura landed on one foot a pace away from Nightwing, and stepped up to him, a soft smile on her face. She took the flower and stepped into his arms, wrapping hers around his waist and resting her cheek against his shoulder. It felt just as nice as she had imagined earlier.
"I feel exactly the same way," she whispered and then turned her head to smile up at him, the moon reflected in her dark, violet eyes.
