Worn out, the Dragon found himself tossed backward into a small heap.
"Kaito! You okay, buddy?"
At his trainer's voice, he forced himself back up again, looking a bit worse for wear but not at all done yet. This Cubone was darn good at her dodging. Not even waiting for his partner's call, he called forth another Blizzard. As close as it was, there was a chance he could make a comeback.

The attack connected, and Hannah needed a few moments to recover before attacking again. Bouncing back to her feet, she stared at Kaito. What a fiery battle, despite all the ice.
Another Ice Punch it was, wanting to get in close to the opponent, her fist glowing and crackling with the shards forming there. Could he worm out of the way, she hoped not.

Kaito had done just that, her attack missing him by mere inches. Frozen in anticipation of a hit, Kaito peered out of a tightly closed eye to find he was fine.
"D-Draa!" was his shaky call of relief.
Regaining himself, he let loose another Ice Beam at the Cubone. If he went down, it would be while he fought to the bitter end!

Another hit, not quite direct but enough to knock damage into her already tired form, Hannah found herself growling out of irritation. Twirling her boneclub like a baton, she gripped it tightly until it crackled.
"Ice Punch!" Choppi folded her arms, knowing what she was going for. Maybe it would work this time.
Brandishing the bone, the end of the enamel lit up with the shards of ice. Spiking out around it, for some reason the dratini's matching power was forcing her to resort to tactics that she rarely used. The bone glittering brightly, she lunged through the grass at Kaito.

Eyes widening, Kaito moved to get away but it was of no use. The hit connected, the Dratini rolling from the blow. Now that one had hurt.
"Tini~"
"I think we should call it quits, buddy! We can always battle again another day!"
Kaito slowly forced himself back up again. "Dratini!" Another Blizzard was headed for the Cubone. He put his all into it, praying for a direct and critical hit.

[size=9]Hannah jumped to the side, glad that this battle wasn't over yet. She still had a few things to teach the little pogey. Charging back at him, she had a gale of ice shards following her in the wake she created. Icy Wind.
Tracing after where the poor little pokemon was sitting, maybe this would be it. Could they still win without a critical hit?

Her strongest hit of the battle yet sent the Dratini flying. There was no way he'd rise from this one.
"Kaito!" Harper was already on the move to catch her partner, putting herself between him and his intended landing spot. The chestful of Dratini was enough to even topple her over. "Ack!"
As predicted, Kaito didn't move. Much too pooped to do anything but let himself rest.
Sitting herself up, Harper examined the worn Pokemon. "You did a wonderful job, Kaito. I'm quite proud of you."

Zapping the celebrating Hannah back to her pokeball, Choppi gave it a little kiss to the top of the orb. As was her after battle ritual. Smiling as she tied her pokeball back to the pigtail, she hopped out onto the grass and raced over to Harper.
"That was really brilliant! Kaito is a strong fighter!" She smiled gleefully as she made it over to her side. The arena was bigger than it looked. Holding out a hand she smiled at the other girl.
"My name is Choppi." She chirped with a happiness unmatched. "I'm an assistant here at the Katarina gym." Winking at her, she giggled. "I look forwards to battling you again when you're after a badge."

Returning Kaito to his ball, Harper smiled up at Choppi. Taking the hand, she couldn't help but chuckle at just how cheerful the girl was.
"It's a pleasure! I'm Harper and that was an absolutely fabulous battle. Hannah really tore it up!" she complimented. "I'm gonna be looking forward to facing you again."

"For sure!" She started to hop away, flashing her a peace sign. "Catch ya later!" With that the two trainers left and parted ways...for now.
