Gin was not at all dissappionted with her words. His squinted yellow orbs shined a little behind his pale eyelids. Was it just him or where they flirting-or what ever it was called. He sniffed, looking casually to the left as if in thought. No, him... falling for someone other than his grey and blue lady? Course, she had ruined it between them-chosing that black male over him. Did their past mean nothing?
Well, his past with Saffron certainly did. "It is far from unpleasent..." He said rather shoothly, looking over at her with a rather calm and collected expression. "In fact... find it rather entrancing... starting anew with a friend-" His friend Saffron. She would forever be Ani in his mind but-until he sorted out what this may mean; she was Saffron. "-may open perspectives I've never imagined before." He paused. "So many opportunitiess" He looked over at her. "A new life."

Ani did not know what flirting was, much less how to do it, but if she had, she would have likely realized it was what was going on. Since romance had never been encouraged at any point in her life, this was a new experience for her. But she liked Gin... and she liked him a great deal more now than she had the first time she had met him, when she assumed she would never see him again. Now she had to admit... she didn't want to be parted from him again. He was the only person she had ever really trusted.
"A new life?" Ani said, drifting off a little. Something she had always wanted but always failed to attain. Was this her chance? Would she and Gin... Silvertongue? She would have to work out what to call him. But would she and Gin be able to start again? A happy little life in a happy little pack? What a thought that was. "I agree. I think that this opens many possibilities for you and I."

Gin couldn't believe he was feeling or saying these things. Was it because of his deep down hurt for what happened between him and Nanu... but that was past now. Nothing was going to stand in his way for controlling himself. Damn that female for chewing on her heart for so long and forgetting him. He sniffed and lifted his head slightly; looking outward. "A new life." He repeated. He next words pretty much said what he was thinking.
"Saffron." He looked over at her with golden eyes soft yet strong. Why were her words so fulfilling? They made his chest swell and warm. Perhaps it was something about being told things he wished someone would say someday. He felt like something in him was replaced. "For you and I... together." He dared to say, almost a question. He looked to her and willed her to reply with something he wanted to hear.

Ani turned her dark eyes towards Gin, a thoughtfully look on her otherwise emotionless face. She had never been good at expressing her feelings, but she suddebly felt, somewhere inside the emptiness that had been her old life... that maybe she had a chance. That maybe she really could have everything she had really wanted. A new life.
"Yes..." She said with a nod, unsure of her words now, more than ever. And she knew a thing or two about not being sure what she should say. He felt like something was being replaced. Ani suddenly felt like there was something... there. "I think that you and I can have a new life here. Together." Because she was so tired of doing everything alone...

Gin wasn't sure why he knew-but he was ready to be commited to someone and something-preferably not himself. He was amazed, at how easy this was. He had only practiced this in his mind a few times-in passing. Not really seriously; but... now it seemed to be appropriate. He shifted himself up and sat down closer to her, his golden eyes looking out of the corner of his eyes at her. Ani.. his mate. His recognized mate. He liked that thought.
She had her perks and perhaps he would be able to break into that shell a bit more. Perhaps, just perhaps. "Yes... together. Us. As one." He said in confirmation. He looked up at her and flashed her his usual devilish grin-lacking his golden eyes of course. "Because you have been alone too much. I think it is time we both have someone to be with... and I would like that someone to be you."

It took Ani a moment to fully comprehend her situation, but she could only nod to it. Gin was one of the few... well, no, the only dog who had ever understood her in even the smallest fashion. The only one that she knew... and she knew what lay underneith his mask, even if he tried to hide it from everyone else. And it didn't bother her. And he knew who she was... that she was perhaps damaged beyond repair, but it didn't bother him either. Yes... she knew who he was. She knew his name. And perhaps that meant... he was the only one she could be happy with. Strange. But it still felt so... right.
Ani looked at him, and if possible, in the most odd way, her hard and empty face seemed to soften a little. "Yes Silvertongue. Us. Together." She told him, confirming what he asked of her. "I think that we could... we both need someone. And I think we could be happy if it was each other." Odd... but she was finally certain that she was actually... happy?

It was settled then. He nodded, setting himself down and laying beside her-his pale tail curled around his back feet. He was rather satisfied. He hadn't needed to lie or cheat his way into this like his usual antics. For some reason, she was okay with it. He felt rather-accomplished with it. He sighed, shutting his golden eyes and smiling. "I'm content with that!"
And he was. He crossed his front legs and lay his head down-thinking quietly to himself. It was settled. He would really be staying here-he would really be mates to Saffron. He could really, actually do this and be okay with it. "I am content with it completely!" He said with a yawn

"And I as well..." Ani smild a little, lying down beisde him and nodding her head. She hadn't needed him to lie or cheat. That sort of thing didn't bother her... as long as they were happy. And she was sure they would find a way. After all, they had found each other again... when they were least expecting it, they had found each other. Odd, the tricks the Gods played.
She had someone she could be with now. Someone she could stay with. Ani very nearly felt her lip twitch as she laid down her head. "I think we will have a very nice life here, Silvertongue."

He looked over at her and smiled, content to be beside her. He sighed, nodding his head. "Yes... A very very nice life!" He said, almost assuringly. He was sure of it. He couldn't guarantee he wouldn't make a mistake once or twice but he would try his best to be a good mate... He shut his eyes and sighed, ready to sleep and really absorb this information fully into his mind.
